Title: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: Snatiramas on August 19, 2006, 12:06:18 AM Dear All
there are moments when I truly hate the game. Tonight would be one. Sitting in my lounge playing satellites for EPT on stars I find myself in nice shape to reach this weekends final. Two tables to go 38,000 chips 11 seats and 18 left. Moved to the table and find Ripple 11 sitting on my right with 14,000. The average for the last 11 will be 30,000. Ripple goes all in against 12,000 stack. Gets a call. Ripper has a pair of 8's. Matey boy AJ. Hits his overcard. Ripmeister down to 2,400ish. He bobs and weaves and fights his way back to mid 20,000 chips after I manage to double him thru. Players are being knocked out. We are down to 12. I am in the small blind. The big blind is sitting out. There are 6 players round the table. It fold round to Ripple....He pushes all in. I have pocket K's I know Ripple is a Blondie.....What should I do???????? Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: Claw75 on August 19, 2006, 12:08:35 AM call of course! I'm sure Nick would have done the same to you ;) Did you win your seat?

Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: RED-DOG on August 19, 2006, 12:12:19 AM Of course you should call. Anything else would be colusion and grossly unfair to the other players.

Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: Snatiramas on August 19, 2006, 12:21:06 AM But guys we all know collusion happens in a far more organised way all the time. Would it be such a terrible crime

Would it be such a terrible crime Does the fact that it happens justify it in some way? Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: Snatiramas on August 19, 2006, 12:33:03 AM But Ripple was and would be totally unaware of what I had. He colluded in no way whatsoever. My point stands. Is this collusion????
Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: Pab on August 19, 2006, 12:36:34 AM I dont care who was all in, even it was a family memeber (hypothetical as they dont play poker) but id be calling all day long
Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: Claw75 on August 19, 2006, 12:38:13 AM I would actually feel quite patronised if someone played differently against me just because of who I am.

That is an interesting slant, it wouldn't be collusion................just blatant cheating instead :D Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: snoopy1239 on August 19, 2006, 12:53:52 AM tikay knows everyone in poker, if he took this approach he'd never play a hand! 8)
Have to call The only justification in not calling is if it was strip poker and the were 10 other players were supermodels. Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: Tonji on August 19, 2006, 01:13:44 AM I would actually feel quite patronised if someone played differently against me just because of who I am. exactly, it would feel like charity, guilt should not play any part while playing. Feel guilty afterwards if you like. Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: thetank on August 19, 2006, 05:08:53 AM Do you remember what the chip stacks of both ripple, yourself, the sitting out big blind player, and the other short stacks in the tournament were when this hand occured?
If, in the event of you calling with KK and losing, you would still have more chips than the shortest stack in the tournament, then I don't really see a case for passing. If I ever felt guilty in a situation like this it would be becasue I briefly considered folding. My wee brother and I were about to play in a tournament at the Luxor. He is relatively new to poker. Prior to the tournament I explained that it was important he played just as hard and fast against me as he would anyone else. Cheeky bugger made a fishy call and knocked me out. ;tk; Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: Jinky04 on August 19, 2006, 06:49:07 AM My fried told me about a porn website he was on the other day called Ripple.com. I don't think I should say what he did but given it involved larger ladies I can assume you can all guess.
Title: Re: Massively guilty for what I did to Ripple Post by: ariston on August 19, 2006, 08:29:31 AM Id need to know chip stack sizes of yourself, ripple and also the sortstacks in the tourney but folding KK here is not a bad thing. If ripple had ax and could seriously damage your stack you would be losing the pot almost 3 times every 10 times you play it. I am not saying you should fold because its ripple, you should fold because you want to win the seat and if you have plenty chips (and there are a few shortstacks) you have a far better chance of winning the seat by folding than by calling (against ax you are roughly 3-1 fav or 4-1 fav if you are up against an ubderpair), why risk a badbeat? I dont do bubbles in satelittes by making passes like these.
