Today is Day Two. Blinds have an hour left at 100-200, 25 running ante. 180 odd started, & 117 are left. Starting stack was 10,000. Thewster 14,850. Wardonkey - about 16,000 I think. Jen - 8,000 -ish. Alright Jack 5,600-ish. Chili - 8,500. Me - 14,925. Poor Red ran KK into Mr Lairy Man's-usually-got-garbage AA & busted early. snoops lasted even less long. Dana tells me she's not at all surprised. Jen was deep stack all day, until her AK narrowly failde to budge Mr Rock off QQ & she missed. She then went on the tear & fought back to 8k with a series of bold pushes. Chili was the new Yoyo - 14k, 6k, 15k, 6k, 12k, 4k. I told her to "lock up" the last 10 minutes when she was down to 4k. So she went on an all-in rampage, bullied back up to 8k, including an astonishing push with bugger all. Sorry, AA. Patrick Wardonkey played his usual solid game. I had a cheek clenching moment after 4 hours. In the SB with 5-9, 3 way action, the flop came 6s 7s 8d..... I checked, BB bet 600, Matey Boy called 600, I Raised 2k, BB moved all-in on me! 9-T? Nah,don't think so. Two pair? Maybe. Trips? Possibly. Flush draw? Hope not. Straight draw. Could be. As ever, my hand-reading skills were spot on - he had 4-5! Phew..... Buoyed by this good fortune, I decided to send Jen Lady Mrs Merton Mason, who'd slid into a seat two to my left, a little message, & Raised her BB with Q-9. You need to put Jen in her place otherwise she dominates, see? She called, the fool-ess. Flop was A-K-9, 2 spades, she checked, & I bet 1,000, protecting my (non-existent A) as I would aganist the spade draw. She called. She check callled my 1k Turn bet, too. Damn. No sweat, I'll get her off it easy, on the end. River, she bets 4k. What? Eh? I gave her a good ticking off, & said "now behave, right? - I'lll let you live this time". She said sorry, it won't happen again, as she "accidentally" showed her hand. 4-4. I think she got the message though. Blinds are about to go 200-400, plus a 50 running ante. 90 of the original 187 runners are left, so the average stack is, well, quite a lot.
Alright Jack arrived 20 minutes late, but found AK very first hand. Sadly, that plays pretty badly against his oppos AA, & that was that. Jen was next, on the tear a bit, but she ran two pair into a bigger two pair, & Miss Merton was miffed. Shame, because she was having a ball, just that AK v QQ hand did her last night really. Wardonkey has run his stack up to 23k. He's dangerous. Thewster is stable, about 15k I think. He had a bad situation. Dealer flipped one of his cards over whilst dealing it, it was a King. His other card? You guessed it. Geezer behind him Bet, next Geezer Re-Raises, next Geezer goes all in. Board was J high, & the Pot was 45k...... Chili has been up & down again. Last hand pre-dinner she got herself all-in with 5-7 on a 5-6-8 flop, Matey Boy had 6-8 for 2 pair. Turn, 4.....11k now. I have been asleep - only 2 hours zzz's last night (well, this morning), as I had work to do. I began today with 14,925, & have 13,500 now. Geezer to my right did not turn up, which makes my BB very difficult to play, as Mr Lairy is on my button & he ain't daft. Richard Gryko, (love to Mum) busted out last night. I think we play 4 more levels tonight - thats until about 5am. If we survive. If I bust (once I bust?) I'll be back to the Hotel to get caught up on some work. Yes, I wil be there till the bitter (or better?) end. They play down to the Final today, I think, then the Final s 3pm tomorrow. If you guys are interested, I will either Post occasional Updates on here, or text them to someone. I'll, obviously, let you know how Patrick (Wardonkey) is getting on. He looks in great shape, too. She can't believe what's happening. Longest comp she's ever played - 2 days & counting - most chips she has ever had, first time as overnight chip daddy, she's just floating on air. The dealers seem to have "adopted" her, as have half of Gutshot. It's all "have you seen that girl & how many chips she's got?" sorta stuff. Her fellow players too. They had heard she'd had a result in Sheffield, but she has "Chili'd" a lot of them down here with some daring plays, & she's become the tallk of the place, they have all taken to her. It's just lovely to see. The blondes have some wonderful Lady players, eh? Oh, she really appreciates the interest from the blondes on here. Keep it coming! Once again a massive THANKS to all you guys for your support, you really are the dogs the lot of ya. Tikay keeps me informed of good luck wishes and it really is a lift when your eyes are closing and your getting frustrated at lack of action. I so wanna bring this home for blonde and if i keep my head who knows :D Gotta say my first visist to the Gutshot is awesome, I love every bit of it. The atmo, the set up, the dealers and the comp is first class it really is. Lastly I wanna say a big good luck to Wardonkey. Well-meaning friends & folks are Texting her & PM-ing her with tips & advice about how to play it, & she's very grateful. But she has her own game, it suits her, & she knows exactly what she's doing. Some 8 months for her. A nice 4th & £4k in her first Ranker at Brighton, two TV Tourneys - 1st & 2nd - ran very close in the only two Luton Fessie Events she played, busting from the £500 when her JJ ran into 8-8, that 2nd place for £4,400 at Sheffield last week, & some lovely Online Tourney scoops, and now - fingers xx'd - this. If she busts out now, it's still a stunning effort, 187 runners & she's cruising. She improves every tourney, you can see her growing in confidence. Jen played this too, she was very unlucky when her two pair got two bigger-paired, Dingdell did the bizz at Luton last week, blonde have some cracking females, eh? Meanwhile, news just in..... Blinds have an hour left at 100-200, 25 running ante. 180 odd started, & 117 are left. Starting stack was 10,000. Thewster 14,850. Wardonkey - about 16,000 I think. Jen - 8,000 -ish. Alright Jack 5,600-ish. What was the buy-in? Chili - 8,500. Me - 14,925. Poor Red ran KK into Mr Lairy Man's-usually-got-garbage AA & busted early. snoops lasted even less long. Dana tells me she's not at all surprised. Jen was deep stack all day, until her AK narrowly failde to budge Mr Rock off QQ & she missed. She then went on the tear & fought back to 8k with a series of bold pushes. Chili was the new Yoyo - 14k, 6k, 15k, 6k, 12k, 4k. I told her to "lock up" the last 10 minutes when she was down to 4k. So she went on an all-in rampage, bullied back up to 8k, including an astonishing push with bugger all. Sorry, AA. Patrick Wardonkey played his usual solid game. I had a cheek clenching moment after 4 hours. In the SB with 5-9, 3 way action, the flop came 6s 7s 8d..... I checked, BB bet 600, Matey Boy called 600, I Raised 2k, BB moved all-in on me! 9-T? Nah,don't think so. Two pair? Maybe. Trips? Possibly. Flush draw? Hope not. Straight draw. Could be. As ever, my hand-reading skills were spot on - he had 4-5! Phew..... Buoyed by this good fortune, I decided to send Jen Lady Mrs Merton Mason, who'd slid into a seat two to my left, a little message, & Raised her BB with Q-9. You need to put Jen in her place otherwise she dominates, see? She called, the fool-ess. Flop was A-K-9, 2 spades, she checked, & I bet 1,000, protecting my (non-existent A) as I would aganist the spade draw. She called. She check callled my 1k Turn bet, too. Damn. No sweat, I'll get her off it easy, on the end. River, she bets 4k. What? Eh? I gave her a good ticking off, & said "now behave, right? - I'lll let you live this time". She said sorry, it won't happen again, as she "accidentally" showed her hand. 4-4. I think she got the message though.
