I too shell be playing, after being no 16 on the reserve list, I received my e-mail saying I was in the field, before I set off for BB3.

I'm Glad i Popped in and saw this thread, I won a seat to this about a month ago, But looking at the two lists i'm on neither so i saved my self a trip to birmingham. Will have to look into this

I Played a sat to this at a poker club.  if you go to the poker club there is a poster on the wall with the winners names on it that should be heading up there, I will contact them later today, I' sure they will just pay us out, they must have missed the deadline or something, I will post here and let you know what they have to say.

I pretty sure there were no satellites to this event.

No it was to this, I saw the blonde poster at the club prior to playing it

There were no sats, you pay a membership fee and were put into a draw for seats.
Where was this Bundle, and WTF have you been??

It was at Pokernitez in wokingham, I went there for a game when i got back from the states and they had a sat running that night to this event, 23/24 sept. I won my seat, I am calling them now, I'm not too bothered, seems like they should not have been running this sat, I'm sure they will just refund me.

There were no satellites running for our event because we were oversubscribed.

it wasn't just because it was oversubscribed though was it?  it was made quite clear on the original APAT thread that a decision had been taken that there would be no satellites to any of the UK events.

oops yes that aswell , having a very blonde day after having 4 blood tests for my routine diabetes check  nearly passed out but other than that i'm fine lol

Yes, I'm sure you will get a refund from Pokernitz.

We were approached a while back by Pokernitz, and a suggestion was made that they purchased  block of seats & memberships & ran Satellites, but we told them that we could not go this route, as Memberships & Seat Applications already indicated we would be over-subscribed, & it just did not seem appropriate.

This is, on the face of it, very odd, but there is probably a rational explanation.

I can confirm that we did NOT give approval to ANYONE to run Satellites to any APAT Events.

I suggest you approach Pokernitz & seek a cash payment for your win. I'm afraid we can't help further - not to put too fine  point on it, this Satellite had nothing to do with APAT, & we did not sanction or approve it.

Let us know how you get on, & we'd also be interested to hear how this misunderstanding arose.

APAT have not sanctioned & will not sanction any venue to run Satellites to our Events. If the position changes - unlikely - we will let you know.

eric the marriot is within walking distance to the broadway and i think is the closest to the casino

only problem is that its via an underpass which makespushing oneself very difficult

infact we will problery need a couple of lads to gie us a hand or to jump in a black cab (rank outside the hotel)

well there is 2 choices

either the bar of the marriot (easy for eric and my wheelchairs) or the seated area in the casino between the bar and the food area

Well got my e-mail,so i'll be signing up at the broadway at 1:30,I'm easy after that, if anyone wants to go for a coffee to pass a bit of time i'm game,but i'll go with the flow.

I'll be at the marriot from 11am, and am meeting up with Bainn and Harmony, and any others who are aboutfeel free to jion us.

Now as to the e-mail, the prize distribution, ie 50 % + extras for the winner, is a tad top heavy. 4th to 9th £300 eaach is bit flat, but hay ho, I'm happy to get the chance to play so it looks like win or bust stratagy for me.

Under our terms & conditions, the APAT will not support deal making. 
 
This is a unique Championship event and the onus is on every player to try their utmost to win it.  The above prize structure promotes that ideal and as no APAT member relies on Poker to make a living, our Champion will receive the lions share of the rewards on offer.
 

remember this is for amatuers not pros that need the deal on the final table to put bread in there mouths

A brief conversation in the toilets is all it takes. Even chips 2 or 3 handed the temptation to deal will be massive. Particularly as the target audience is not used to playing for such a big prize.

it will send deals underground, and then people are risking getting stiffed. Negative publicity galore!

i have to agree the top heavy prize structure will cause ALOT of problems espically amongs those who have grown up on sites like stars where there 20% payouts are a huge success

and seeing as stars is one of the only sites that help people out with deals i think this will be open for abuse

as you can see we are trying something different.

We'll see how it goes, take feedback on board and go from there for Event 2.

Wow - was i ever way off the mark thinking the difference between 1st and 4th would be about £1800 and that this difference would be a massive one to the recreational players - but over £4000 before the added prize!!

There are people travelling the length and bredth of the country to play this tournament so because there is no payout structure difference up until the top 3 places then you have to finish in the top 3 to actually win more than the trip has cost in the first place!!

Normally the difference between the prize money won by the 4th place finisher to the winner is somewhere between 225-250%. For this tournament with the added prize the winner will walk away with approx 2300% more than whoever finishes 4th.

Now thats a top heavy structure!!

The APAT has brought an additional 48% in value to this tournament. 

That value was negotiated through a protracted contractual process with PokerStars.com, prior to a membership being in place and if perhaps you think PokerStars.com took the decision to become the tour sponsor of the APAT lightly, then I urge you to look at their home page, where the APAT is one of very few non PokerStars owned properties, promoted to their worldwide player base.

Similarly, the payout structure has been part of our terms & conditions since launch on August 1.  We will try it and take stock after the first event.  Please bear in mind that we are under two months old and had to start somewhere.  But we are committed to listening to our members and will introduce a more formal method of consultation in the coming weeks.

You put quite a lot of effort into pulling your post together Matt.  You should add weight to your voice and join.  There is a limit to what the APAT can achieve without the full committment of the players.

Thank you for the offer but for the moment i will be happy taking a watching brief as to the progress of the APAT, once it is an established organization then i will see whether it will be worth me taking out a full membership. I have paid my online subscription as your online series is being played on home territory for me and i have easy access via my pokerstars treehouse.

To be honest because it is difficult for me to get time off work i dont get to play as much live as i do online, the tournament at BB3 was my first since returning from Vegas. But if i was to play a live event that i knew would take up a whole weekend i would have to question whether it would be worth travelling long distances to play in a tournament where i had to finish in the top 2.5% to come away with any profit.

I did post in a thread started by Bainn saying that i agree that the APAT will need time to develop and to be patient - just as the EPT needed after its first few tournaments in Season 1 were slated for structure and payout.

I wish everyone luck in this weekends tournaments - especially the sole member of "Team Chorlton" who will be taking part, I hope it is a success.
