Title: Who is more famous? Post by: Sark79 on September 15, 2006, 02:18:09 PM Which of these do you like the best and who springs to mind when you think of a Clown?
Joker perhaps may not be seen as a Clown, but the idea behind his Character was based on a Clown. I think Ronald McDonald is the most well known and respected Clown. However I like Crusty better and think he will be remembered in the years to come. In recent TV adverts there have been no appearances by Ronald at all. Title: Re: Who is more famous? Title: Re: Who is more famous? Post by: booder on September 15, 2006, 02:26:44 PM There are people in this world who dress up and act like clowns; I don't like these people. I am not clownophobic (or to be politically /scientifically correct, coulrophobic). I do not fear clowns. Really. I don't. They are just not nice people. They scare little kids, they cause neurosis in some adults, they have big floppy feet, they try to fit too many of their kind in a car.

Post by: Sark79 on September 15, 2006, 02:35:08 PM I like Krusty much better, but I still feel Ronald McDonald in terms of fame will be number 1 for a few years still.
I was at East Kilbride earlier in the shopping centre and I saw a Clown walking around. To be honest, he hadn't made much of an effort. It was at this time I wondered which Clown came into peoples minds when they thought of a famous Clown character Title: Re: Who is more famous? Post by: happybhoy on September 15, 2006, 05:31:08 PM Ever since I read and saw IT I have never liked clowns. They are the devils work. Krusty is the most famous tho. IT sucked ass,I mean really, 3 hours of creeping tension and intrigue only to find out - its a big spider - wtf? - smacks of reaching deadline day with his publishers screaming we don't care if its not finished end it now and send it to us - Err Okay, <tap tap tap> and it turned out to be a big spider and they, like, shoot it with a catapault and shit. the end. I just glad I didn't read the book, it looked big enough to choke a hippo. Title: Re: Who is more famous? A fair comment about the ending , they really struggled to portray the climax of the book, I guess that is why imagination is such a great thing. The book is fantastic tho much ,much better than the film. Title: Re: Who is more famous? Post by: happybhoy on September 15, 2006, 05:46:58 PM Fair shout - I think King should be banned from writing horror though, while it's quite good when you look at The Stand (think the short story it was based on was called The Body), Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile you have to think the man missed his calling to some degree. I mind reading another of his that wasn't exactly horror, twas called The Girl Who Loved Blah Blah (it was somebodies name but can't remember it now) about a wee girl that got lost in the wilderness and kind of lmentally ost the plot, it was fantastic.
Erm yeah but clowns - Krusty rocks :)up Title: Re: Who is more famous? Post by: Delboy on September 15, 2006, 06:13:21 PM Krusty and only Krusty
