Im not sure what to do -
Get an Xbox 360 now or wait for the new Playstation 3.
or get a xbox360 after xmas, will they be cheaper?
Any gamers on here have any views.

With Gears of War plus the imminent arrival of Halo 3 and KOTOR III it has to be the 360 IMO.

wait for ps3...i had the xbox 360 for a few months before it got nicked! im waiting for ps3...PES on pes3 will be awesome me thinks.

I work for a major retail company and can tell you the ps3 is going to retail at about £400 - £425

Xbox 360 is quality, gears of war is a bit of a dissapointment though we call it gears of poo at work!

Wii is going to be great, was at te launch party and you can tell its going to be a hit!

I own an xbox360 so I am biased.

The quality of current games for the xbox360 are really amazing, the online features add to the games.

I play Tiger woods 07, pro evo 6, call of duty 3 all online. So many more games I want!

If your future HD media format is a concern, then you might want to weigh up the war between HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, as the different consoles support different formats.

Well, I'd never buy an xbox, - too many sequels and a lack of anything original.


I'll probably buy a PS3 and Wii and import japanese titles, being able to speak and read japanese has its uses, you get games that are not just churned out crap with shinier graphics.

A lot is made of the price difference but the PS3 comes with bluray out the box while you'll have to pay extra for the hd-dvd drive on the xbox, so unless you've no interest watching hi-def movie you'll end up paying the same anyway. I'm going for the PS3 personally as I think in the long run they'll be able to squeeze more out the cell chip. Either way it's all good.

HD games on the Xbox are amazing graphics and the pic on a hd tv are worth the extra.

they told us the same thing when the ps2 came out (use your ps2 for watching dvd's, its the complete system). The reality was that the dvd playing capability was about the equivalent of a 20 asda special.

i dont think it would be wise to base your gaming needs and wants on the basis of what movies it can play...

Im not a gamer, in my younger days yes, lately though I have noticed different games which are so real, can anyone point in directions of which console to buy and which games, and also how real life are they, and is it still a joystick?

I normally just a Footie manager guru on the PC , although my latest purchase of 2007 season wont work :-(

I've just bought an Xbox 360 and I'm well impressed. I've got Pro Evo 6, Amped 3, Oblivion, PGR, Test Drive Unlimited and a couple others. Also just played Gears of War on a mates and graphically it's stunning. Gameplay was OK too - certainly wouldn't describe it as Poo!

As to which is best it kind of depends more on which of the exclusive games for each console you're into IMO. Get the 360 if you'll want Halo 3 and Gears etc...

To fully appreciate the power of either console though you'll need to get an HD TV or even better an HD Projector. The games are totally immersive on a 100" screen! Wooo!

I'll be picking up a PS3 when I'm in Tokyo next month so I could give a better recommendation when I've played them both!  ;D

Good man! I remember when I first got Pro Evo 2 for PS2 and was blown away by it. Gameplay was just superb.

Still getting my  ;smackedbottom; erse skelped at PES6 online on the PS2 atm just the thought of all these smug kids continually humiliating me with their stupid little tap in goals really gets my goat!

Although ive won my last two games online and just won the International cup with france on Professional... There is quite a noticeable difference since PES5 and its just taking me a while to get used to it.

When ps2 came out there was no such thing as a £20 asda special, the reason it sold it such vast numbers during it's first xmas was the number of non-gamers who bought it instead of the more expensive stand-alone dvd players of the time(which I doubt stand up to comparison to todays dvd players). I'd venture that it was this that brought gaming into the mainstream it enjoys today. I'm sure in five years time the hi-def tv output from ps3 will be the equivalent of £20 asda blu-ray players but at the moment they are costing £800+. On a side note I can never work out whether ps2 sales popularised the dvd format or the other way round, it's going to be interesting to see how it plays out this time round.

Shooting is def different if your coming in from playing PES5 once you get used to it its alot better imo... scored a screamer with wes brown from the centre circle the other day lol

Now let me see.............called many things mainly based around my size but academic is a new one. My son has just finished reading the whole series of Anthony Horowitz books. He is 11. Plays rugby. Plays Playstation. Life is about balance. Please god that we should never lose the power of imagination for the sake of a 3d graphic. What I do know is that his temperament changes during and immeadiately after playing on the playstation in the same way that mine changes having just been knocked out of a 1000 runner tournament on the net by a bad beat. Anything electronic is very dangerous to mildly obsessive.

If  you are going to get Xbox, 360 Gamestation has the best deal ive seen. Console, gears of war and either pro eva 6 or smachdown v raw for 299.99 or same deal with core console for 219.99. Deal my only been nline as not seen in the shop.
