I very nearly ended up with an EXTRA 8 this Christmas, but it turns out the ferries don't run from the Isle of Wight on Xmas day for my family to come over. So, for us it'll just be me and James, the kids and Nicky - James' mum (possibly his brother too)

We're only down the road and no need to ferry to you , and theres 8 of us !!! kizmet  ;D ;D

Sounds lovely Ginger , hope James helps with the cooking  :)

I'll be cooking Xmas dinner for Mum, Dad, wee sis, wee brother, his wife and daughter and me.

Wee bruv kindly told me he would deign to drop the veggie bit so long as the turkey was free range, organic and enetrtained with turkey porn 12 hours a day  ::). The tatties were being cooked in goose fat from french geese reared for pate anyway  ;ifm; ;bumwiggle;

it'll be fun but stressful.

I love a big family Christmas, then again I wouldn't know what a quiet one is like lol. Only a month left and I'm nowhere near ready, I nomally have all the presents bought and wrapped by now, this year I'm only about a third done!

James cooking....  ;gobsmacked; no, I don't think so....  LMAO! he will 'help' with the veg (that I will then re-peel when he isn't looking ) and keep me company in the kitchen (being chief taster) I like doing it all myself, guess it's the control freak in me  :dontask:

The torch was great.

Got it from one of these dodgy indoor market places (when you've got 10 minutes, it's the place to go)
It was a cheap knock off, made to look like a mag-lite. I figured she won't know, what do birds know about torches?

Cost me £2.99, came in a presentation box....wicked

She came round Christmas afternoon and opened it up. She looked delighted when she saw the box, like she thought it was a beautiful necklace or summit.....

Delight changed to dissapointed confusion when she cast her eyes upon her brand new cheapo tool.

"I got you something else as well" says I.

Her face turns again, to relief, but only for a short while.
Back to dissappointed confusion as she opens her lovingly wrapped Duracells.

I'm a keeper ladies.

I'm spending Christmas Day at my Dads and then Boxing Day with my Mum and her side of the family. Makes a change because I normally visit at least 4 houses on Xmas Day and usually travel a lot Canterbury-Luton-Watford but this year it'll just be Canterbury-Birmingham. Easy...

Beachside BBQ for me on Christmas Day somewhere on the East coast of Oz. Then Boxing Day going to Melbourne for the 4th Ashes Test.

Xmas Day is looming too fast for me, neither of my two bessie mates have invited me for Xmas Dinner yet - which is a tad worrying!  lol

Kids will go off with their Dad for their dinner elsewhere late morning and not come home till tea time.

Xmas Day is like any other day in my house, but with just more mess and twinkly lights.

I've always envied people that have huge Xmas Dinners and family in and out all the time.

My family are mostly down South, so too far to travel on Xmas Day.

I used to adore Xmas, but over the past 8 years I've learnt to dread it - the things some people do to you eh?

And on that happy note..............    lol

ah yes the horror that is christmas. I am cooking for the entire family...well, actually my GF's entire family (which makes it all the more unsatisfactory)..and because they want traditional christmas dinner, where as I was going to go with a game christmas dinner (venison, goose etc), I am stuck doing turkey and all that stuff.

Blah!

Boxing day...well...boxing day baby!! the biggest betting day of the year and every year it makes it the season to be jolly. All the footie, and all the racing you could want :) (oh and a little WPT qualifier or 2 that I'm in :)

I've had 2 invites for X-mas dinner. Not sure which to accept yet.

And on the subject of x-mas presents for kids.. I never bought my son anything till he was 5. I waited for a few days and then got him to pick his favourtie. Then told him I got him it. He got that much every year from everyone, it was a shame to spoil him anymore, by getting him anything. He is too old now though and the trick just won't work.

I suppose I better think of something to get him this year.

Accept both, get someone to follow you with a camera.

Reality TV meets bad sitcom plot. It'll be a big hit.

My little girl turns 4 just after Christmas, and this is the first year we've bought her a 'big' present.

A busy few days it will be for me with work Christmas do on the 15th, followed by a christmas meal on the 18th, my birthday present concert on the 19th, my actual birthday pissup on the 22nd, Christmas weekend, then my little girls birthday on the 28th, and we'll probably have her party with her friends in early new year.  I am going to be skint in January!

We'll spend Christmas day morning at home opening presents etc, then go to Gary's sisters in Surrey for dinner and evening.  Will then drive down to my Mum's in Sussex on Boxing day morning to see her and my brother and his girlfriend who'll also be there.  Not sure what we're doing for new year yet - usually go up to Glasgow.
