Title: Mountain Bikes.... Post by: Jim-D on December 05, 2006, 07:42:58 PM Im looking for a good mountain bike as im taking up cycling on my steps to becoming super fit (O.K lose a few pounds round my beer belly would do)
Just wondering if any body knew of a decent web site and what brand i should look for (or stay away from) I have googled and came up with 2 sites that look good but was wondering if any one had used one they could recommend. Thanks Jim. Title: Re: Mountain Bikes.... Post by: byronkincaid on December 05, 2006, 08:14:48 PM I got a Marin Rocky Ridge a couple of years ago after reading a zillion different reviews. It's a great bike but I get the impression that I have nowhere near as much fun as Red Dog has on his.

Whatever you buy, make sure it fits you properly Title: Re: Mountain Bikes.... Post by: Jim-D on December 05, 2006, 08:26:09 PM Jim, do you want to use it mostly on or off road? Post by: RED-DOG on December 05, 2006, 08:39:29 PM Don't get a mountain bike then, get a hybrid. much better for all round use.

(sounds expensive) :) I dont really want to spend more than say £180. Title: Re: Mountain Bikes.... One you have made the initial purchase, it's easy over time to replace worn out parts with better quality ones. Title: Re: Mountain Bikes....
