Title: Is it windy where u are? Post by: TightPaulFolds on December 30, 2006, 12:13:46 AM My roof about to cave in. Played 5x sit n gos today, highly amusing. Generally like: I raise, he reraises, everything goes completely black for the 12th time today as I lose power to the entire house. Is this happening in other places? We have a bloody space station in orbit but we can't keep electricity flowing for more than 1 hour at a time. I calculate my total average monthly loss to powercuts, internet breakdowns, and PC problems to about £150. Is this normal? Live poker has never looked so appealing....

Post by: TightPaulFolds on December 30, 2006, 12:48:37 AM I do live in Scotland, yeah, near Glasgow, which had electricity connected to the entire city over a decade ago. Note: by "windy" I mean REALLY windy: difficulty walking without crampons, trees occasionally dropping through skylights, untethered children hurtling across Sauchiehall Street. Not the 'strong breeze' you occasionally get in England that blows leaves into your Pimms and makes the Range Rover shake a bit. ;)
Appears that the rest of Scotland is indeed suffering: http://i16.tinypic.com/29dfz1z.jpg Title: Re: Is it windy where u are? Title: Re: Is it windy where u are? Post by: Indestructable on December 30, 2006, 09:12:44 PM My wife will not let me eat sprouts anymore after the windygate episode last year. It used to be so much easier when my mum had a dog for me to blame.

Post by: Sark79 on December 31, 2006, 06:36:35 PM It is very windy here. The wind and rain are beating against my window. I have my computer near the window as the electricity socket is there. It is well dodgy right now, the window sounds like it will come in any minute, I think I will get my sunglasses just incase of flying glass, lol .

I would suggest a Snorkle just in case the window give way and you get flooded too. Title: Re: Is it windy where u are? Post by: Sark79 on December 31, 2006, 06:54:36 PM I did have an old welding mask somewhere, I may put that on with the snorkel and sunglasses. My DH mtb body armour is still in the attic so that may be hard to get to right now
