I read recently in some "celeb magazine" that you were asked "what is the best night out you have had recently".

You replied "doing a shift behind the bar at Robs pubs opening night with Colchester Kev"

As a highly successful actor wtf made you give all your time over to poker?

I beleive Willie Tann was a great help to you as you improved as a player.

Would you like a new nickname instead of Greco?

One of the worst mistakes he ever made was to admit to a group of poker players he hated the name "beppe". When he turned up for the home game at robs and all the names where up on the plasma he was down as Michael "don't call me beppe" Greco which meant everyone called him Beppe for the entire evening and everyone still does. Never admit your weakness to a bunch of bstrds like us is a lesson he has now learned (too late Beppe).

I only get bored of poker when i have a run of bad days where i have gone into a hand the clear favourite and ended up being cruelly outdrawn. It just gets a little boring and tedious.

I am still acting. Just completed a great feature film with steven berkoff where i have the lead role... www.nakedinlondon.com Both professions are equally as important to me. If I had to choose between winning the world series main event or an oscar I would have to seriously think which would mean more to me.Thats how much I love poker.

That was a great night at Robs opening of the pub. Used to love working behind the bar. And yes working alongside the great Colchester Kev was the highlight of the evening lol,

Although I have been reasonably successful in my acting career I do rise to challenges. I was always really good at maths at school so being introduced to poker was no coincidence as my late father was a gambler. I,m still a novice at this game but believe me I will get better and better very quickly and one day dtdpoker will be very proud.

Such names as willie tann and mad marty have been a great help cos they,ve been playing for years so u must listen to these guys. I believe that people have a natural ability to read their opponents and being an actor helps me with that. One of the best bits of advice I have learnt from those experienced pros is position is of utmost importance. You can move someone off a hand so much more when you have position on them... so as willie tann always says in his oriental Mr Miyagi accent....USE DA BUTTONNNNNNNNN....

Beppe is no more..for now. Maybe one day he,ll return to shag pat butcher but for now he is having too much fun playing poker.looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

I have to play under my real name on the dtd site which I really dont mind. I do have another name but shall remain a secret. I do get some abuse from jealous idiots but I have to be professional and ignore them. Also playing under your real name makes you feel under pressure to play your A game as you knoew someone is bound to eventually call you a fish.

OK the most hated person on eastenders i think hmmmmmmmmmmmm would probably would have to have been yes you guessed it pauline miserable fowler. She was so miserable she made victor meldrew seem like bonnie langford... The most faniable was probably tamzin outhwaite. And no b4 u ask i havent been there. The nicest guy was Martin Kemp. A true gent. Great value for the sofas ads. And the most frightening was Jessie KAT sLATER Wallace.. No make up in the morning. gRuesome sight. lol,

I think it can work for and against you being a famous person playing poker. You get the type of person who wants to bluff you out of a pot just so that he can tell his mates. And also the type of person who wants to knock you out of a tournament cos he just doesnt like your status. But I try use that to my advantage by playing solidly and waiting for them to make their move when I have a monster. Also its a known fact that most celebrity players arent great but the experience i have gained in the last 2 years hare starting to prove invaluable as my knowledge of the game has vastly improved. So any of you celebs out there who are willing to play heads up... IM READY.LOL......

And yes poker is far more in your control and although you need a vast amount of luck you are not being conned by others. I hope .

Actually faniable would,ve also fit well into what i was saying. No none of the cast were lucky enough to get beppes raise although there were many flops that wouldve got his attention. Never mix business with pleasure snoops although having dogs around like kat slater that wasnt hard. LITERALLY. LOL

Came down to cardiff to watch the final and to be honest my money was on you as you were the most solid player. Romanello just wanted all the tv time he could get and hoss was a really tidy guy but i think lost his patience. You looked knackered towards the end and i thought your play was going to suffer but if anything you kept focused right til the last hand.

Once again, a well deserved victory and good luck in the final!

Yeah for once the best hands stood up for a change. Played really well throughout, Have to admit i hit some nice flops in the final.

Rick Dacey from Poker Player Mag came 2nd. He had a horrible bad beat when heads up, something like losing with pocket kings to 10-6 off suit.

As I,m not really a card rack and dont tend to get many big starting hands I have to use my bluffing skills more than I would like. Timing is everything in poker and at the mo I am running into big hands and trying to stael a pot when someone has the stone cold nuts. I think also that when you win a big event your expectations of yourself and expectations from other people are seriously enhanced so naturally i am dissapointed like many when I dont do well in a tournament. I know it will change i just hope its sooner rather than later.

Thanks. Its always so hard to do well in those events cos they really are fundamentally a crap shoot and not much poker can be played. Obviously I,m dissapointed not to win but am very happy in my showing considering I never saw a big pair until after the first five minutes.

Thanks Vin. Appreciate it mate. Hopefully the cream will rise to the top. I,m due another big win and at least I know now I can win a big tournament and keep my cool in the process. But of course if lady luck isnt with you then you have no chance. I really do think that poker is 75% luck. Anyone can win on the right day but you do need to lay down big hands when called for.

The more I play the more I realise luck is involved. When you play against the good players online I have several examples of luck absolutely crippling me.

Example Deep in MTT 40 runners left ... out of 320 or so top 30 get paid. I am in SB with   Kc Kd - Button raises x3 - I push back x3 he pushes all in
I call, he flips  4h  5h - flop comes 2 hearts river heart. sigh...

I can rattle off dozens of other examples of this type of play includin pushing x 4 pot preflop then x 4 pot on flop playing  Ad Ac on a  Kh Ks  7d board for a guy to stay in hand in Sunday
Million with  Jd Jc only for him to hit a  Js on the river. Again only 300-400 spots from Money in a 7k runner tournament.

Knowing who can let go an outfloped hand is very hard to gauge on the internet as people will even hang on to hands like Ts Th on a  Qh Qd Kc board and
chase in the hope of filling up to a fh.

Skill is certainly a factor with position being a critical element,  but LUCK is what you need too. Just ask TheVoid as he pushed whilst behind vs Ka$ino to take down the largest ever online  tournament.

ps - in the GUKPT how many times did u actually get lucky while putting in behind?
For my 4th place finish at Bolton I remember two all ins where I had a weaker holding
out flopping my opponent  Ahrt  Th vs  Aspades Kh mid tournament around level 7. (Flopped 2 10's vs Mick Fletcher from memory)
Also mid tournament level 9ish Ahrt Js vs  Ac Qd against Paul Higgins.

Without those moments would never have made televised table.

you need luck. But the less that you rely on it the more you win.
