Title: Please help little ol me Post by: snoopy1239 on February 03, 2007, 05:55:05 PM Hi folks, my car tax should have been paid a couple of days ago, but when I went to the post office, I realised that I didn't have my log book. I searched my room from top to bottom but it's nowhere to be seen. They didn't send me a reminded either so I can't use that. Any idea what I should do or what the next step is. How much is this going to cost me? Thx in advance.

Title: Re: Please help little ol me Post by: Eck on February 03, 2007, 05:58:48 PM Think all you need to do snoops is fill in a form at the post office (V10 i think) and submit it with your road tax renewal. Not sure if it costs an extra tenner or so and i think the DVLA will then send a new reg document.
Sure someone will come along shortly and give you absolute picture. Some of the car dealers on here will know for certain. Title: Re: Please help little ol me Post by: 77dave on February 03, 2007, 06:00:00 PM Online is the way to go snoops forget the post office you will need your MOT cert if it is one of the new ones.
if you are late getting new tax (few days ) they just charge the difference you sjouldnt get a fine Title: Re: Please help little ol me Post by: snoopy1239 on February 03, 2007, 06:02:30 PM To renew my car tax I either need my log book or a renewal note, but I don't have either.

I need to think about this one for a moment, my log book is definitely lost, but there's a chance i cn find the renwal letter. If I find the renewal letter, is that definitely all I need. Boy, I hate things like these. Last year just be4 Copenhagen I realsied that my passport was out of date and so had to go to Liverpool to renew it at the crack of dawn. Not fun at all.
