Title: Grand National 2007 Post by: scotty2hatty on February 15, 2007, 09:05:38 PM It's a bit off yet but read an article in The Sun today about a guy putting £10,000 e/w on the French horse Little Brick at 100/1!!!
The best price I can find for it now is 40/1. What do you make of this? Crazy fool? Or knows something we don't? Won a decent race last time out and ages ago finished a decent second to L'ami. I'd be VERY surprised if he wins it or even places. Title: Re: Grand National 2007 Post by: -bluffer- on February 16, 2007, 11:09:25 PM I fancy Kelami - was there and backed it when winning at Cheltenham last year - appeared to be still running strongly after 3 miles around Cheltenham. Think it was balloted out of last years National due to the light weight it was given.
Any comments appreciated. -bluffer- Title: Re: Grand National 2007 Post by: boldie on February 17, 2007, 10:49:15 AM I fancy Kelami - was there and backed it when winning at Cheltenham last year - appeared to be still running strongly after 3 miles around Cheltenham. He has a good weight, is guaranteed in, looks like he'll stay (won a very nice race at Cheltenham last year, and looks a proper horse. You can definetly find worse 25-1 shots. Title: Re: Grand National 2007 Post by: -bluffer- on February 17, 2007, 09:40:28 PM Noticed that Kelami pulled up at Haydock this afternoon - looking at its form and I presume the heavy conditions were against it - good ground would be ideal for Kelami at Aintree. If its being prepared for Aintree i cant see it running again - 3 runs now in less than 2 months should have its fitness spot on - can get 33/1 now - think i'll get on at that price and take a chance with the ground.

Third year in a row for me, two years ago it was robbed, last year nothing, this year perhaps something.

Title: Re: Grand National 2007 Post by: redimp on February 18, 2007, 09:47:01 PM Little Brick running tomorrow (Haydock i think). Should be interesting. It won see the race? what like? Only three in the handicap proper for this Listed chase and LITTLE BRICK made an encouraging British debut on his first outing in this country. He had won three times in his native France and was well supported here to go in at the first time of asking in receipt of 17lb from closest rival My Will. His backers were always on pretty good terms with themselves as he jumped with alacrity and galloped on strongly up the straight but he is not that big and those who were lucky enough to take the 100-1 for the Grand National would have been pleased as well although those fences will be tougher than these. He could well go to Cheltenham for the William Hill Chase off a higher rating and it will be interesting how he fares there in a more competitive affair. As the above( from the racing post) says, it won well enough but it is difficult to gauge how good the horse is, it doesn't look a particularly big animal and its jumps were nothing spectacular. It was receiving a lot of weight, so all in all inconclusive. It is set to carry 10 11lb at Aintree and yesterdays distance of 3m 2f was the furthest the horse has ever ran. Nearly all the horses runs( in France) have been on soft or heavy ground. The horse has fallen in 3 of it's 30 races. On a more positive note it was the horses first run for quite a while and may be open to improvement. It's next run should give us more of an idea of its chances at Aintree. Hope this helps Shelly Title: Re: Grand National 2007 Post by: smithy69 on February 19, 2007, 12:52:44 PM In my opinion Little Brick is not good enough to win the national. He seemed to jump quite flat at the fences, and I honestly can't see him getting round Aintree.
