Valued opinion is the outsider but may be value depending on how the market swings. Pedantic tosser has been in good form recently, posting several good performances. But we're ready for the race..........

It's pedantic tosser making the early running, with valued opinion stalling at the gate. Reading what I would imagine are the two threads referred to, it seems to me that Flushy simply a) commented that a hand which had been posted was bad play (fair comment) and b) suggested that a poker club which had closed down was not fully legal (again, fair comment). The fact that people threw their toys out of the pram in responding isn't Flushy's fault.

Flushy can post very valuable opinions when he takes the time to do it...other times...well he can be a bit short when he thinks the answer to the question is too bleeding obvious to even post the question.

One of the first threads I read on the PHA Board was from a member asking for advice about how to win a hand...

It was aptly titled...
The member was aware that he had probably played the hand completely wrong...

And posted for some advice...

The advice from Flushy was...

I think that this is valuable advice. Clearly people need to be told straight if they are wasting their time playing poker. Flushy recognised this immediately and let the mis-guided member know that his future wasn't in the game.

He's definitely firmly entrenched in the "all attention is good attention"-camp.

I personally laugh at most of his 'short' responses, but can see how they are mis-construed my new members of the forum who are totally oblivious to his unique posting style.

How can one not love the flushmeister ? Even when he's being a pedant o tard he's cute as cute can be and now he's cuddly roly poly stylee too !

I think people should edit to show if they have met him in real life.

I met him online in early days of VC poker and he was a bit gobby, but helpful, was clesar he was doing his poker homework and was learning quickley.

He helped me in early days, and even taught me how to play omaha during a rebuy, which i think he won after ko'ing me in 3rd.

He has always been a target for psss taking and always taken it, he has always dished it out when people give him the ammo.
Hes been around a while and perhaps he doesnt have the patience with noobs anymore, hence he comes across as a 'tosser' at times

I met him real life on a usual suspects event. He was friendly and not at all the elitist he would appear to be on here. What came across clearly was his love of poker.
He can also speak at 155 mph, and all then people around him tend to listen.

K10 v A10 on 10 high flop (king had been passed so actually a 2 outer)

then A8 v 88 on a 6,2,2 flop

hit the turn both times

it was only his good grace in actually being embarressed and apologising to her that saved him.

this is so very true. i have spent several weekends in the company of Flushy ( poker related, before you start  ) and i have seen him get ripped to shreds by "banter" which has sometimes come very close to crossing the line. not once has he ever taken umbrage , he just shrugs his shoulders and gives as good as he gets.  if i was selecting a group of mates for a social gathering , his name would be one of the first on the list. Top bloke.(although he is carrying a few extra pounds these days , and really should invest in an iron)

and yes , he is a tit

i have an iron for sale but as flushy resides in brighton and he and kingpoker may take offence at me being only an occassional poster i was loathe to say so. (btw  iron in question is in no way illegal0

Excellent post and excellent points from mex. I've met Flushy a few times as well; he can be a sarky git, but his heart is definitely in the right place and he does indeed give as good as he gets.

Example: I remember a couple of years ago mentioning that I was clearing some kind of online bonus and needed to play a certain number of raked hands to qualify; that day I found myself (briefly) on a table that Flush was dealing. I was passing the junk he was giving me, until at one point he said "Are you ever going to play a hand, rock? Go on, we'll count it as a raked hand towards your bonus..."

He likens me to the stony cliffs of Gibraltar, I liken him to the scaly denizens of the deep... but it's all in good humour.

(Just keep him away from the Mod's room...) ;D

He was a wind-up merchant in the 'real-world' as well, but a decent fella from what I saw.  Even dealt a Omaha hi-lo SNG without so much as a moan.  He did take the piss with my lack of omaha skill, but that's nothing unsual for me and it makes a change from people ripping me for my holdem play.

I started talking to Flushy online about 2 1/2 years ago then we played on the same table in a tourny at Binions, it wasnt till we returned home and started chatting online that we realised we had met and not known. LOL.

Flushy in person is totally different to the person he comes across  at times on forums. I dont agree with some ways he expresses himself at times, but I believe a good % is tongue in cheek.

The is one thing though no one can argue with is that when it comes to pisstaking, he takes it as well as he gives it out.
At heart hes definately one of the good guys

After countless insults and put downs I dont post on blonde much anymore and although I loved playing league games, EC sats etc I will not play on a site where Flushy is going to benefit financially.
