Title: Shed Seven Reform Post by: sledge13 on July 29, 2007, 02:47:32 PM Sweet! One of the best live bands of the 90s (and I saw most of em Blur, Oasis etc).
Made some great singles and still sound fresh today.... http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=63194107 Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: ACE2M on July 29, 2007, 02:49:14 PM i think your mistaken, they were toss weren't they?
Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: Colchester Kev on July 29, 2007, 02:59:28 PM i think your mistaken, they were toss weren't they? Have to agree, mate of mine was in a battle of bands type comp in leeds and Shed Seven were special guests and did a set ... they were shite, the worst band in the comp were better. and Rick Witter is an obnoxious peasant, well he was that day.Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: madasahatstand on July 29, 2007, 03:07:19 PM they had one good song 'standby'. I took a look at the webpage and cant believe how much the lead singer had changed, make that a lesson to you kev. hes lost so much weight he looks terrible..............................
Even 'standby' aint as good as i remeber so i would need to agree that they are terrible. Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: weller001 on July 29, 2007, 04:04:32 PM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwwpu_ZIGQM
great song Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: Longy on July 29, 2007, 04:36:24 PM I liked shed 7 but they were very britpop and a bit of a joke to be honest. Like many bands from that era, they should accept that their time has passed and grow old gracefully.
My favourite shed 7 song was actually their last real hit "disco down", http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CqmGdeUzOdg. Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: snoopy1239 on July 29, 2007, 04:45:19 PM Disco Down was okay.
Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: sledge13 on July 29, 2007, 04:50:13 PM Ah well I still love em....Kaiser Chiefs are basically the same and they having massive success now, plus they got more tunes than the massively overrated Arctic Monkeys.

Didn't spot your post there, yep, Disco Down was their best one from what I remember. Pretty run of the mill ban though imo, nothing special. Reminded me of the Bluetones. Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: Graham C on July 29, 2007, 06:41:51 PM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bwwpu_ZIGQM great song That's the song I was thinking of, I quite like it too. Didn't think they were that bad. That said, they were a band from my youth(ish), not sure I'm fussed about them reforming, but I'm happy to listen to some old classics Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: Colchester Kev on July 29, 2007, 06:43:35 PM just put this on and bash one out ... its that good !!

Try this one, it was one of their early songs, not sure too many people have heard it but it was pretty cool back then. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LtYaCm5njY (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LtYaCm5njY) Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: madasahatstand on July 29, 2007, 07:22:44 PM just put this on and bash one out ... its that good !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAchKt2xjsw class:) Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: Delboy on July 30, 2007, 12:48:16 PM just put this on and bash one out ... its that good !! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAchKt2xjsw class:) ;iagree; Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: Acidmouse on July 30, 2007, 12:56:31 PM Ah well I still love em....Kaiser Chiefs are basically the same and they having massive success now, plus they got more tunes than the massively overrated Arctic Monkeys. Not sure I would class them as same as Chiefs. I am a little biased as I know a few of them but they have much more 'pop'ular songs then shed ever did. Title: Re: Shed Seven Reform Post by: Pelham Boy on July 30, 2007, 09:33:16 PM Shed Seven were a good live band.
Their first two albums were good, but they went rapidly downhill afterwards. I think it Was Simon Mayo who when he first played the dreadful 'She left me on Friday' said she must have heard the demo!! lol. Anyway today marked the re-release of one of the great albums of all time,'When in Rome Kill Me' by the vastly underrated CUD. If they had been around now, when Indie music is popular they would have been HUUUUUUUUGE! |
