The last vestiges of our fantastic summer are nigh and as the hot days fade and Autumn creeps up on us we look ahead to September's team Challenge. The Penultimate challenge in the series.

The comps ($5+0.50c) will be as follows:

On blonde Tues 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th

On Virgin Thurs 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th

Start times will once again be 8pm, following a mass representation from the workers. And to annoy King Poker.

September's added value, thanks to Virgin, is a seat plus expenses to October 18th's GUKPT London Event at the newly refurbished Victoria Casino.

Passwords will be the same.

In August we have 11 teams. Rumour has it we have a couple of Virgin teams joining us for September too.

first of all I'd just like to say its an honour to finally become a temporary DOOKER... for two months I've held a candle to the stars hoping that I get a chance to experience this honour. I've enjoyed many success's in the field of poker, but this is without doubt the defining moment of my poker career to date and I hope that its all I ever imagined it would be.

Suzanne is having major PC problems and is likely to be offline for some time.  There is therefore a vacancy in the Hardon Mob.  I know our results don't look impressive (because they're not!), but on the up side we can only improve next month!  Drop me a PM if you want to join us.  Presume everyone else is still ok for September?

Team Silo need a sub for two weeks from the middle of the month onwards.  It's only a tempory position due to one of our team being on holiday so I can't promise you a place for October or any other months.

The position would suit someone that doesn't usually play blonde events but fancies having a go, and is a decent tournament player.

I'm not sure that subs are allowed. Well not officially anyway!

I have asked and was told it was ok.  I'm not sure what difference it makes, you can change your team each month.

If it's an issue, the sub can play for the whole of September if it's easier - we don't want to cause a fuss :)

Team changes are allowed (at the end of) each month but I wouldn't have thought you can have more than 5 named players representing a single team within a month. I could be wrong though. It's not my call!

4 wouldn't be that bad given that only 3 can score, it's only for a few games.

Holidays happen..I don't mind a sub for a few comps in a month with as much advance notice as possible, to allow teams to play with a full complement, trusting that all teams do it for genuine reasons which I am sure will be the case

I won't be getting involved in debates about %ages of prize money due to subs should the team win though!

I am not so sure that is a good idea..  For example...  one week, I am not able to make it, so, I phone my mate and tell him to go on and we will call him a sub for me because i am away..!!!  Loads of abuse..!!!

We already know it happens by people not playing giving their friends, logon details, and pretending to be that person..

It's ok, we'll just have 4 team members for the two weeks.  Don't want to upset anyone and you'll need a chance to catch up anyway.

We live in the real world, people go away, they miss comps, twice a week for four months is quite a commitment..I'd far rather other team members didn't suffer and teams played with a full complement

I disagree with subs unless they are for a full month. That was the rules and I dont think they should changed now!!  At least I thought that was the rules!

But yes, my days in the team challenge are numbered.  In fact they are numbered to 1.  I won't be partaking in the team challenge next month due to other commitments.  My team are currently mourning celebrating.

The league has been very successful to date and we don't want to start meddling with the rules now! Allowing subs will cause things to get very messy IMO!

I agree.  If people think they can't make a number of games in September, for whatever reason, I think they should take the choice to either not play for the month and let their team find a replacement, or agree to buy in to the games and sit out (as a number of people have been doing)

Can someone explain this team game thing to me please?  I know we are playing as individuals but also as a team - so how come in the last 2 games I have been knocked out by one of my team members while being spectacularly bokked by another member of the Hardon Mob  ?!?   ::)
