Title: Ruling ? Post by: Ecosse on September 18, 2007, 02:47:46 PM Can anyone put me right here ? 10 handed tourney at local club, i'm head's up and go all in after the river with board reading jj8jk. Opponent does not call my bet but turns over his cards showing a K. Has he mucked ? Dougie. Title: Re: Ruling ? Post by: Newmanseye on September 18, 2007, 02:49:01 PM yes, if he has exposed them and not said call he has mucked his hand, exposing your cards makes em dead as far as i know.
Title: Re: Ruling ? Post by: AndrewT on September 18, 2007, 02:50:40 PM If the dealer didn't him say call and he moved no chips forward then he's mucked.
Of course, he could have put you on the case Jack and was showing what a great fold he was making. Title: Re: Ruling ? Post by: 77dave on September 18, 2007, 02:51:34 PM If his card is exposed by accident at any point during the hand his cards are live but he is held to check call or fold for the rest of the hand
if it is decided that he exposed the card on purpose then his hand is dead at that point Title: Re: Ruling ? I don't understand why the pot was split - either his cards were live and he won, or his cards were dead and you won (which would be correct in this situation). Why did you show your QQ, and how on earth was it decided that the pot should be split? Title: Re: Ruling ? Local social club and no one has that much experience. Opponent knew he was folding and I really believe he was just angle shooting. Dougie. Title: Re: Ruling ? Post by: doubleup on September 18, 2007, 03:16:01 PM Although there are bizarre rules all over the place, the ruling in reputable cardrooms would be that his hand is not dead but he may be warned or penalised.
I cannot understand how the pot ended up being split, he either called or folded. Did you think he called and expose your hand? If so welcome to the world of angle-shooting (although it may just have been stupidity) - don't show your hand until you are sure you have been called. Title: Re: Ruling ? His hand is dead if he shows his cards plus what warning or penalty do you think he should get or have you ever seen given in a cardroom for exposing your cards Title: Re: Ruling ? Post by: AndrewT on September 18, 2007, 03:25:27 PM To be honest, in informal social games, the overriding thing which determines rulings is 'which decision is least likely to result in a fight'.

The penalty will begin at the end of the hand. Title: Re: Ruling ? Post by: bolt pp on September 18, 2007, 05:44:19 PM lol ffs how the f**k is it ever a split?

The ppl that run uk poker rooms are generally ill informed about rules that are standard in well run cardrooms the world over. |
