They are a series of letters and numbers that facillitate international money transfers. Just phone up your bank help line and they will give them to you Title: Re: IBAN and BIC Post by: matt674 on October 04, 2007, 04:39:23 PM Does anybody know what these are and how the eck I find them? If you have upgraded your Neteller account so that you can transfer funds to and from your bank then they already have your IBAN code. It's just your bank's sort code with an international prefix, rather like an area code. Title: Re: IBAN and BIC Post by: snoopy1239 on October 04, 2007, 08:06:45 PM Ta. Some excellent humour in here too. Keep it up.
Title: Re: IBAN and BIC Post by: lucky_scrote on October 05, 2007, 12:32:42 AM They are normally on the front of your monthly bank statements, IBAN = International Bank Account Number and BIC= Bank international code (i think) Yes you also find them on your statement though. IBAN is your own private number. The BIC can be found anywhere on the net, just search on google and you have to put a few details on of your bank you registered with. ACTUALLY you can even work out your IBAN code if my bank manager told me correctly... Here is an example GB30MIDL12345678901234 <GB> - Country <30> - 2 random numbers (they dont mean anything, you can even change the numbers if you want!) <MIDL> - Location of bank i.e Midlands. <123456> - Sort code <78901234> - Account number. And there you have it. Title: Re: IBAN and BIC Post by: Paullie_D on October 05, 2007, 10:46:37 AM <MIDL> - Location of bank i.e Midlands. This refers to the name of your Bank and not it's location...MIDLAND bank was taken over by HSBC some time ago. Barclays = BARC Bank of Scotland = BOFS etc., etc. Title: Re: IBAN and BIC Post by: lucky_scrote on October 06, 2007, 05:46:28 PM <MIDL> - Location of bank i.e Midlands.
