My Aunt used to cut the hair of several of the Liverpool players (who lived in the same part of Formby), including Dalglish, Clemence and Hughes (but NOT Keegan).

Went to Ray Clemence's daughter's 7th birthday party, and the big fella (especially huge when you're only 3 foot tall) picked me up and put me on his shoulders.

I've been out clubbing with Naseem Hamed (in real life he's actually quite shy and really quite humble - did have two of the biggest bodyguards you will ever see though).

Played pool with Eddie Charlton and Willie Thorne when they asked to join our game in a pub in Sheffield, at the time Eddie lived just opposite our student house (no prizes for guessing who's gaff was the nicest though).

I talked briefly with Jenson Button when he was driving in a test session in Formula Ford , the conversation went something like this

Me -  " Hi, good luck this year.  Is it hard to drive in these conditions " ( It was raining really, really hard at the time )
JB -  " thanks, no you get used to rain, it doesn't really bother me that much "
Me -  " ok, thanks.  I prefer it when it is dry , my sandwiches are easier to eat " ( I was eating a salad sandwitch that was getting soaked by the rain )
JB -  " Oh ok,................."  ( At this time he looked around for someone to come and save him from the nutter irritating him  :D  )

Jings,

My name drops all appear to be football related :-

Alex Ferguson (when manager of Aberdeen) - I was a schoolboy signing
Kenny Dalglish (just after move to liverpool from celtic) - sold him a golf ball at the golf course facing my back garden when I was about 12.
Ally McCoist, used to drink in my local hotel (Busby) - about 10 years ago.
Craig Brown (ex Scotland Manager) - piped him in to a new car launch at a motor dealers.

Dougie.

Been to a few parties at Clive Tyldesly house..  Lots and lots of footballers and WAGs there...

George Michael was sat in seat in front of me on a flight to Hong Kong, managed to scrounge guest passes to the concert in HK of wham, 1985...  Shirley Bassey on same flight..

Used to work for BBC Manchester so pretty much every day saw someone famous..  It was surreal..

I don't kiss and tell, so no names being dropped here, but back in the early 90s I kissed (on the lips, but no tongues!) someone who has now gone on to be a successful (oscar nominated) Hollywood actor :D

Oh dear...flashback..

While back..was at the Vic watching Flushy, M3boy and Junglecat in a tourney, they all managed to get kaiboshed early doors... no probs they said let's go play the rebuy at the Gutshot...,(Ed Note.. at this point I become unsure of M3's further involvement).

It has to be said that I may of had one or seven drinks at the Vic but anyway I end up on a table with Messrs Hendry and Williams... pock Js first hand and a J on the flop, chippage flys... about an hour later I am (a) uber chippy and (b) off my face... 30 mins later I am *cough* ejected and disappear into the Clerkenwell night.

Flushy phones my other half..."we lost him Chelle",

"s'ok if he's not home by next Tuesday I'll call you"
