Title: ac milan v celtic
Post by: fergus8 on November 30, 2007, 05:08:39 AM
anyone think this wont be a draw?
with a correct score of 0-0
i cant see any reason why either side would want to win this, draw suits both teams down to the ground.
im convinced it will be a draw, though not sure about 0-0, poss 1-1, though that would take a more skillful stage management

I suppose England vs Croatia shows that not all sides think like this. You'd be hard-pressed to find anyone who'd think that AC Milan and Celtic are bothered enough to go out for a win.

I wouldn't be surprised to find odds of 2/1 ON for the draw to happen as though it was an end-of-season Serie A game with nothing to play for though.

eng v cro only one side needed a draw
here both sides only really want a draw

rather important to finish top of the group, no? I'd want to avoid the chelski's and Manu's and all that so would prefer to win the group. AC surely will go for the draw and sure Celtic will be happy just going through but I wouldn't go for a 0-0 draw

celtic have three routes
lose out 97% chance
draw through in 2nd
win through in 1st

i dont know why celtic would want to annoy there hosts who will do them a favour if they behave.

true..but it's all about how Milan view it..if they think Celtic might try something (like playing for pride and that nonsense) they might feel like they need to play a bit. also AC are probably fielding a a weaker side as they have big games roundabout the same time

milan have no other big games, THIS IS IT. and they need 1st

Wasnt Milan bitter about Celtics "punishment" for the dida/fan incident in relation to Dida's punishment?  If they are, they might be out for revenge.  5-0 Milan  ;)

Apart from the World Club championship. The draw gets Milan first, so would be the sensible shot for both sides.

Rino? Has he played for Milan against us? Lots of noise, no performance so far.

And not forgetting Milan play Juve this weekend. We go to Tynecastle for a tough game of our own.

Think our Rangers supporting friends are trying to distract themselves from their own crucial game in two weeks time. A game they are finding so crucial they have asked to postpone a game with GRETNA to prepare for....

you going tomorrow Rod ?

nope, got a last minute shot at a ticket, but had arranged a weekend at the Maw & Paw's.

Will watch it on Setanta.

Have to laugh at Rangers asking to postpone the Gretna game ;D

lol to be fair is it almost travelling to another country.

Cant see Celtic winning this game in Milan for obvious championsleagueawayresultaments. Draw great for both sides. We held them to 0-0 in 0 mins at the San Siro last year so why not again? Hope so.

C'mon the Hoops.

PS Why are rangers fans starting threads about Celtic games????????

rino also said he likes his new car, a very expensive sportscar from a ukranian "fan", infact the whole squad got one, nice guy.

Gretna play their home games at Motherwell.

I don't blame Rangers for trying to get the game postponed, Celtic should have done exactly the same this weekend as our fixture list is even more conjested with harder games & we are down to the bare bones at the back.

It is more or less exactly the same situation though. AC Milan have nothing to play for (like Croatia) but they probably don't want to lose as theyed finish second to Celtic (Croatis would have had to lose by three goals or more for England to have topped the group!).

If AC Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk both win, Shakhtar Donetsk go through ahead of Celtic as they have the slightly better head-to-head (Shakhtar's away goal being the tie-breaker).

Meanwhile Massimo Donati suggests "Celtic will go for the win against AC Milan." (http://www.sportinglife.com/football/cups/championsleague/news/story_get.cgi?STORY_NAME=soccer/07/11/29/SOCCER_Celtic.html&TEAMHD=championsleague)

Of course we will, we cant go there and play for a draw, we would get smashed.

But this isn't a Serie A game, and Milan have beaten both Benfica and Shaktar at home.

I know your only at the wind up but you've been saying we'll get pumped out since July!!! I would love to play Real Madrid or Arsenal if they win their group.

All the pressure is firmly back on Rangers in the Champions League & possibly the league if we win our next 2 league games.

FWIW I think you'll probably bottle it again  ;nana;

I hope Celtic get Chelski as well - I am salivating at the prospect of a competitive day out down sarf!

If I could hand pick a team for us though I'd take on

Marseilles - I think realistically we could beat them.

I also fancy a wee jaunt to Germany I like Germany for the football and Bremmen was one of the first places I ever went to with Celtic many years ago, wouldn't mind going back.

I don't want Inter - fed up going to Milan.  Same can be said of Barcelona.

Ohh and I hope Rangers draw Liverpool in Uefa cup :)

id maybe take that, liverpool rangers would be venemous, in the champs league of course.
but i cant see celtic beating any group winner over two legs

probable group winners

porto
chelski
real madrid
ac milan
barcelona
man utd
inter milan
sevilla

2nds

liverpool/marseillle
schalke/rosenburg
olympiacos/ bremen
celtic
rangers (nap)
roma
fenerbache
arsenal

arsenal have messed up big style

id defo take in this order 1. ac milan
                                   2. porto
                                   3. sevillla
                                   4. man utd
                                   5. chelski
                                   6. real madrid
                                   7. inter milan
                                   8. barcelona
