Those shuffling cards are taking an eternity to load ;whistle;. Is it just me? I've been having the same problem and have resorted to blocking the image in taximan's sig, It does seem to help considerably (could be a coincidence though) All the banners have disappeared, & the front page is all wonky :dontask: Looks fine to me, no wonkiness apparent or missing banners. Title: Re: Is Blonde lagging for anyone? Post by: Tonji on January 30, 2008, 10:05:46 AM Quote Looks fine to me, no wonkiness apparent or missing banners. Oh, maybe its just me, but their are no Will Hill & blonde banners, & the front blonde page has no photos & the text is all wonky! All other sites seem ok, any ideas? Title: Re: Is Blonde lagging for anyone? Post by: Claw75 on January 30, 2008, 10:09:19 AM It's fine for me. I would like to have a tiny mini whinge about people posting lots of pics though - if I'm doing a bit of sneaky browsing at work it's bad as our internet usage is monitored by the amount of data downloaded.
Jane, could you let me know how to block signature images, and is it possible to block other images embedded in to threads? Title: Re: Is Blonde lagging for anyone? Post by: Tonji on January 30, 2008, 10:13:27 AM I must do some work. I'll be back later & I hope it magically cures itself :)

Personally, I think huge graphics in sigs make forums look ultra messy - there's no need for them, and they can screw up the forum. Title: Re: Is Blonde lagging for anyone? Weird that, because there was a lengthy Mods debate about that very subject not long ago. I was, as ever, the awkward one, saying that I like big sig images, & what's the problem? But the Techo Boys beat the shit out of me - "bandwidth, core filters, dual-processing Intel via FireFix, I.E rocks" & all that geeky nonsense. I'm sure they just try & pull the wool over my eyes. Don't remove them all Taximan - you'll just ruin some of the threads as there are good pics very pertinent to the discussions. Where there are pictorial 'comments' - you might want to link to smaller versions if you can. Title: Re: Is Blonde lagging for anyone? DIY pipe lagging It is worth lagging pipes between the boiler and the hot water tank, at least 1m of the pipe leading from the tank and any pipes in the loft. Before you start this job, remove any old or damaged insulation off the pipes. Types of pipe insulation vary. 20-25mm is the minimum thickness of pipe insulation that you should go for and pre-formed foam cylinders are the best kind. These are split along their length so can be easily slipped onto the pipe. You’ll also need tape to seal the splits and join sections. If using the pre-formed cylinders isn’t practical, then felt can be used – use double thickness and make sure it is closely wrapped to the pipe. I think this might help |
