Title: Italy v England today Post by: gatso on February 10, 2008, 05:25:11 PM couldn't find anywhere to watch this but have just seen very brief highlights on BBC World.
did I see correctly? looks like Italy kicked for touch after the 80 minute mark whilst trailing. surely not? Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: AndrewT on February 10, 2008, 06:03:50 PM Yeah, they did. Though it was an acquiescence rather than a tactical decision.
They were trying to run it but kept getting pushed back. Once England has pushed them back behind their own try line they kind of realised they weren't going to score, plus there was a greater risk of England scoring, which would have knocked the edge off the Italian performance. So one of their players decided to end the game. Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: technolog on February 10, 2008, 06:48:41 PM I think it must have been the poorest England performance I've ever seen. Once again in the second half they looked totally inept. :(

To watch us finish runners up in a sport that only two countries play. Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: TightEnd on February 11, 2008, 02:54:02 PM 3 countries.
makes all the difference Five tackles, kick...turn over...five tackles, kick...turn over..occasional knock ons, occasional tries from the sixth tackle kick, very very very occasional tries from open play Boredom on a stick IMO compare to Union! lol Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: kinboshi on February 11, 2008, 03:31:25 PM 3 countries. makes all the difference Five tackles, kick...turn over...five tackles, kick...turn over..occasional knock ons, occasional tries from the sixth tackle kick, very very very occasional tries from open play Boredom on a stick IMO compare to Union! lol Knock-on. Scrum. Scrum collapses. Scrum. Scrum collapses. Scrum. Scrum collapses. Penalty. Kick. Restart. Knock-on. Scrum. (no collapse this time, how exciting). Pass to the back. Kick. Catch. Kick. Catch. Kick. Touch. Line-out. Not straight. Penalty. Kick to touch. Yawn. League is far more entertaining for the spectator. There are far more tries from open play in league than union. Far more. Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: TightEnd on February 11, 2008, 03:40:29 PM rubbish.
League is like watching paint dry and so is Liverpool without Torres. Kinboshi, fan of dullard sport. Fact. Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: kinboshi on February 11, 2008, 03:49:42 PM Says the man who watches men with shiny helmets chasing a ball around a gridiron, and where scoring a touchdown which means getting the ball over a line, rather than actually touching anything down anywhere.
League is better than union. ;nanana; Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: TightEnd on February 11, 2008, 03:53:43 PM Isn't, and the global popularity of each confirms that.
Unless I have missed the world class Argentinian and South African rugby league teams let alone the Italians We even have A GB RL team (most of the time) as an English team would get tonked by the Aussies and any RL Six nations would be un-sellable due to the poor quality of Welsh, Irish and French RL teams Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: boldie on February 11, 2008, 04:14:18 PM Says the man who watches men with shiny helmets Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: kinboshi on February 11, 2008, 04:18:54 PM Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: TightEnd on February 11, 2008, 04:20:54 PM and of course the flow of talent from Union to League (sic) is awesome. Players voting with their feet
Financial feet? sure, but there's a reason why there's more money in Union. Its not a regional game played by Australians, whippet fanciers and Polynesians Can I stop playing devils advocate now? Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: kinboshi on February 11, 2008, 04:21:58 PM Play with what you want. League is better.
Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: TightEnd on February 11, 2008, 04:23:36 PM Play with what you want. League is better. isn't. but it is in your opinion. and on that we can agree! Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: kinboshi on February 11, 2008, 04:24:13 PM Is.
Title: Re: Italy v England today Post by: boldie on February 11, 2008, 04:35:11 PM Can't we just agree that rugby is just a poncy-public-school-boy-probably-fiddled-with-the-PE-teacher-or-at-least-with-the-captain-of-the-team-excuse for a sport? Might as well just admit that you're a ponce and play Hockey, no?
