couldn't find anywhere to watch this but have just seen very brief highlights on BBC World.

did I see correctly? looks like Italy kicked for touch after the 80 minute mark whilst trailing. surely not?

Yeah, they did. Though it was an acquiescence rather than a tactical decision.

They were trying to run it but kept getting pushed back. Once England has pushed them back behind their own try line they kind of realised they weren't going to score, plus there was a greater risk of England scoring, which would have knocked the edge off the Italian performance. So one of their players decided to end the game.

I think it must have been the poorest England performance I've ever seen. Once again in the second half they looked totally inept. Sad

To watch us finish runners up in a sport that only two countries play.

3 countries.

makes all the difference

Five tackles, kick...turn over...five tackles, kick...turn over..occasional knock ons, occasional tries from the sixth tackle kick, very very very occasional tries from open play

Boredom on a stick IMO compare to Union!

lol

Knock-on.
Scrum.
Scrum collapses.
Scrum.
Scrum collapses.
Scrum.
Scrum collapses.
Penalty.
Kick.
Restart.
Knock-on.
Scrum.
(no collapse this time, how exciting).
Pass to the back.
Kick.
Catch.
Kick.
Catch.
Kick.
Touch.
Line-out.
Not straight.
Penalty.
Kick to touch.
Yawn.

League is far more entertaining for the spectator.  There are far more tries from open play in league than union.  Far more.

League is like watching paint dry

and so is Liverpool without Torres.

Kinboshi, fan of dullard sport.

Fact.

Says the man who watches men with shiny helmets chasing a ball around a gridiron, and where scoring a touchdown which means getting the ball over a line, rather than actually touching anything down anywhere.

League is better than union.

Isn't, and the global popularity of each confirms that.

Unless I have missed the world class Argentinian and South African rugby league teams let alone the Italians

We even have A GB RL team (most of the time) as an English team would get tonked by the Aussies and any RL Six nations would be un-sellable due to the poor quality of Welsh, Irish and French RL teams
