Hi Simon, no there is no decision either way.  The last few legs and the Final are still in deep discussion as we speak to see if they will be televised, and I am very sure that Jonathan Raab will make a public announcement once a decision is reached.

yes it was river but no way nik can get away from it imo just a cold deck but the timing of it was sick!

Jeff makes it 35k from the cut-off, Nik raises to a cool 100k from the small blind, possible action already with big stacks colliding early? No, Jeff folds, Nik becomes the chip leader, but not by much.

A lack of flops so far, people are looking to win the pot preflop, and with 19.5k in before any action, players are happy to take it down there and then.

As I'm distracted by the presence of Dick Van Dyke and Diagnosis Murder on the TV to my left whilst writing that hand up (one of these days they should make Dick's giant moustache the killer, it would make better TV). There's another hand kicking off, as Luke Patten has raised to 35k, but Aaron Berry, perhaps hurt by the previous hand, sticks in a huge 200k re-raise which quickly sends all players scurrying for the hills.

Chili here - A couple of hands later Aaron Barry gives it another shot and raises to 32,000 preflop.  I don't know if they decided he is bullyable by now but Peter C reraises all in for a total of about 350k.  Aaron dwells and again makes a pass.

Luke Patten is looking a bit short now, having lost that earlier pot to Jeff and then had his raise snapped off by Aaron. He'll be looking to make a move soon, since he can't have much more than 10 big blinds now.

Meanwhile in a six-way limped pot between Craig, Charles, Dharminder, Terry, Nik and Peter, it's taken down on the Kh 2h Js flop by a 44k bet from Peter after the others all check. Aahh, the beauty of position.

They all check it down until the river where Craig, who was still stacking his chips from the previous hand bet out and hammered the final nail into Owens coffin with the turned nut flush to take the multiway pot!

A Few hands later D went all in from the small blind for 176k, Aaron Barry from in the big, clearly sick of passing is agonising over the call.  He only has 180k himself but cant quite pull the trigger and passes.  D this time shows the Ace. Two same scenario's played differently with different outcomes.

Button raise from Jeff Kimber to 55k. Nik Persaud perhaps is thinking that maybe Jeff's raises aren't so credible when he has position, I say this because Nik re-pops it to 150k from the small blind. Peter passes and it's back around to Jeff, who looks first sceptical, and then at Nik's stack, perhaps contemplating moving in.

Peter Charalambous really is a funny character.  Very chatty and happy go lucky, he often frequents the dealers choice tables at DTD and rarely the NL Holdem.  In fact he told me that despite playing cards for years Hold Em was the last game he learnt and not that long ago either.  You will rarely hear him be quiet at the tables and it must be killing him not to be able to yap away as normal (although) he probably should just go for it and annoy the hell out of the other players lol.

To keep him occupied he has 3 times now knocked over his entire chip leader stack and enjoyed the triviality of stacking them back up again lol.

Thanks for all the good luck messages, and to Maria and Floppy for passing them on during the final. I’ve just read through the updates and they’re so good I enjoyed them like I wasn’t there lol. I got the cards at the crucial times, no doubt, it was a tough field, Nik was a right pain in the £$^& reraising me all the time when I had filth, Peter played good solid poker all the way then went through the gears as we got short handed, and if D is ‘only’ a £5 and £10 rebuy player, he won’t be for long, he played very impressive super aggressive scandi style poker and almost got there.

As always, I’ll write a tourney blog on Ladbrokes poker.com, probably on the flight to Copenhagen for the EPT tomorrow (it’s a tough life!), should be up by tues or weds hopefully (not sure if I’m allowed to post that here). I had some amazing hands over the last three days and some crazy situations, so rather than my usual moaning about bad beats this one should be a little more entertaining!
