Title: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Final Day Post by: Chili on February 17, 2008, 02:29:01 PM Afternoon and Welcome to the Final Day of GUKPT Walsall 08. Hopefully we shall have an exciting and fun filled Sunday afternoon ahead of us, one thing is for sure, 1 person is gonna leave here tonight considerably richer than he was last night. Could it be Jeff (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=195) Kimber (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=195)? World Heads Up champ and chip leader at the start of proceedings, who incidently has never cashed in a GUKPT! Or could Nik (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=314) Persaud (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=314), close behind Jeff in chips, actually win it rather than bubble the final table!

Hi Simon, no there is no decision either way. The last few legs and the Final are still in deep discussion as we speak to see if they will be televised, and I am very sure that Jonathan Raab will make a public announcement once a decision is reached. A lack of flops so far, people are looking to win the pot preflop, and with 19.5k in before any action, players are happy to take it down there and then. As it inevitably does, starting a calling chain reacton. Luke (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=252) Patten (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=252) called as did Jeff and Peter checked in the big blind. The flop was:
Kd Jh Qd Its checked to Luke who bets 25k, Jeff calls and the rest pass. Turn: Qs check check River: 7h Luke checks for Jeff to bet 50k and he passes. 100k extra for Jeff (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=195) Kimber (http://www.blondepoker.com/blondepedia/blondepedia_view_player.php?player_id=195). Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Final Day Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 17, 2008, 03:55:39 PM Nik takes the next pot down with a 24.5k button raise on Craig Metcalf's big blind.
The next pot and Nik raises again, whilst Charles Denton defends his big blind. 5h 4d 7c Charles checks, and Nik checks behind. 2d Charles checks again, Nik carefully picks out six yellow chips and two greens and puts out a 31k bet. It's enough, as Charles folds sharpish. Blinds now 6k/12k with a 1k ante. There'll be a 10 minute break after this level, where they'll remove the 500 chips then two more levels then a dinner break. Jeff Kimber passes. Dharminder immediately throws out 103k more on top of Berry's re-raise, the latter's shoulders are violently shaking but he passes.
(http://blondepoker.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=9216&g2_serialNumber=1) As I'm distracted by the presence of Dick Van Dyke and Diagnosis Murder on the TV to my left whilst writing that hand up (one of these days they should make Dick's giant moustache the killer, it would make better TV). There's another hand kicking off, as Luke Patten has raised to 35k, but Aaron Berry, perhaps hurt by the previous hand, sticks in a huge 200k re-raise which quickly sends all players scurrying for the hills. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Final Day Post by: NoflopsHomer on February 17, 2008, 04:17:03 PM Chili here - A couple of hands later Aaron Barry gives it another shot and raises to 32,000 preflop. I don't know if they decided he is bullyable by now but Peter C reraises all in for a total of about 350k. Aaron dwells and again makes a pass.

He'll be looking to make a move soon, since he can't have much more than 10 big blinds now.
Meanwhile in a six-way limped pot between Craig, Charles, Dharminder, Terry, Nik and Peter, it's taken down on the Kh 2h Js flop by a 44k bet from Peter after the others all check. Aahh, the beauty of position. You will rarely hear him be quiet at the tables and it must be killing him not to be able to yap away as normal (although) he probably should just go for it and annoy the hell out of the other players lol.
To keep him occupied he has 3 times now knocked over his entire chip leader stack and enjoyed the triviality of stacking them back up again lol. Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Final Day Post by: JaffaCake on February 18, 2008, 02:35:05 AM Thanks for all the good luck messages, and to Maria and Floppy for passing them on during the final. I’ve just read through the updates and they’re so good I enjoyed them like I wasn’t there lol. I got the cards at the crucial times, no doubt, it was a tough field, Nik was a right pain in the £$^& reraising me all the time when I had filth, Peter played good solid poker all the way then went through the gears as we got short handed, and if D is ‘only’ a £5 and £10 rebuy player, he won’t be for long, he played very impressive super aggressive scandi style poker and almost got there.
As always, I’ll write a tourney blog on Ladbrokes poker.com, probably on the flight to Copenhagen for the EPT tomorrow (it’s a tough life!), should be up by tues or weds hopefully (not sure if I’m allowed to post that here). I had some amazing hands over the last three days and some crazy situations, so rather than my usual moaning about bad beats this one should be a little more entertaining! Thanks again to Maria and Floppy all the well wishers, both on here and by text, and to the lurkers here (you know who you are!). Jeff PS Great updates Snoops Title: Re: Bluesq.com GUKPT Walsall: Final Day Post by: b4matt on February 18, 2008, 02:58:28 AM Ayarrrrrr N1 Jeff.
