Title: What is the best hand Post by: 77dave on July 16, 2008, 09:31:42 PM On the flop is the best hand the hand that is winning or the hand with the best % chance to win?
Title: Re: What is the best hand Post by: GlasgowBandit on July 16, 2008, 09:35:03 PM On the flop is the best hand the hand that is winning or the hand with the best % chance to win? Depends what position I am in, if I get my chps in with a massive draw but no made hand then thats clearly the best hand if I get my chips in when I am in front with the made hand and get outdrawn then obviously its a suck out and poker is rigged :) Title: Re: What is the best hand Post by: Rookie (Rodney) on July 16, 2008, 09:36:17 PM Think we have a thread on this before. And the general consensus was best hand = winning, favourite is obv the %...
I will personally take the favourite each time tho :) Title: Re: What is the best hand Post by: Grier78 on July 16, 2008, 09:44:08 PM On the flop is the best hand the hand that is winning or the hand with the best % chance to win? I will always take whichever hand is ahead in the %ages Title: Re: What is the best hand Post by: Longy on July 16, 2008, 09:45:11 PM I would personally say the best % chance.
If you are going to get into semantics, I suppose on the flop the best 5 card poker hand is winning. Yet most forms of poker are based on best 5 cards from 7 and when you are all in, the next 2 cards are always going to get dealt. Title: Re: What is the best hand Post by: I Am Willis on July 16, 2008, 09:48:41 PM Well i would follow the math as should you,
Just because you see you have made an under paid and you opponent is up n down with overs with flush draw + board pairing then your no longer ahead are you! Always take the math thats how you work out wether your ahead or not ;-) Title: Re: What is the best hand Post by: TheChipPrince on July 16, 2008, 09:51:15 PM Think we have a thread on this before. And the general consensus was best hand = winning, favourite is obv the %... Yep, like if say Leicester take a shock 1st minute lead against a full strength Utd in the FA cup 3rd round at O.T. Leicester are winning, but Utd would still be favourites... Title: Re: What is the best hand Post by: AlexMartin on July 17, 2008, 05:08:14 AM BEST hand= hand with best overall chance of winning. Not hand thats infront at the time imo. Ask Maldini ;)

Ask Maldini ;) Was just thinking of that hand! I personally think the best hand is the current made hand. For eg you have 2d 2c vs Kh 6h on a 5h 4h 7d board...the best hand is the 2s cos you HAVE to hit your card to win with k6, even though you are a massive fave something like 70%ish. I would expect most people to disagree with me here. Thats not to say i wont take the k6 hand every day of the week! Title: Re: What is the best hand Post by: Claw75 on July 17, 2008, 12:24:50 PM A question I was pondering the other night (which kind of fits in with the thread title) - if you were all in preflop against 8 random hands and could choose your holding, what cards would you pick?

So who's BEST in that example? Leicester? Title: Re: What is the best hand Post by: kinboshi on July 17, 2008, 12:33:13 PM BEST hand= hand with best overall chance of winning. AA ldo. Title: Re: What is the best hand Post by: steeveg on July 17, 2008, 12:57:49 PM i think the hand ahead on the flop must be the best hand, the favourite to win the hand because of outs is another matter
