Title: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: FuglyBaz on August 21, 2008, 05:46:20 PM Went to the Birmingham Rileys in City Centre, to enter £10 freezeout. Could not believe it when I was told it was £13, with £3 for a 'facility charge'.
Like 888 and Pacific, they are complete jokes and haven't got the foggiest in how to run tournaments. The 'trained' tourney director didn't have a clue. 8 players on one table and 4 on another. Certainly won't play in another Rileys game again. Anyone else had any similar experiences? Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: Grier78 on August 21, 2008, 06:04:58 PM They also charge you to play Snooker even if there is no money at stake on the game, thats infinate juice!
Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: fergus8 on August 21, 2008, 06:08:03 PM may be a 3 pound flat fee, no matter the tourny cost
Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: thetank on August 21, 2008, 06:35:20 PM may be a 3 pound flat fee, no matter the tourny cost Pity they don't have the relevant licencing to do a £200 fo 8) Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: tonge on August 21, 2008, 06:55:54 PM It is a flat fee regardless of the entrance, legally they can only play for a maximum of £10 a person.
This means though that in for example where they regularly get 50 punters its £3 facility charge to play for £5 per person. The charge wasn't supposed to have gone up until the 25th of August though. Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: StuartHopkin on August 21, 2008, 08:20:04 PM Do you get dealers for that £3? dealer dealt and a full complementary buffet kin, dont know what they are moaning about! Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: pokerfan on August 21, 2008, 09:15:07 PM do Rileys have a membership fee?

Fair point, it's just a bit of fun. I'd be a bit pissed off at the 4 players, 8 players table distribution that OP tallked about though. Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: Grier78 on August 21, 2008, 10:05:32 PM The games are very soft though which makes up for everything else.
Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: Longy on August 21, 2008, 10:08:08 PM The games are very soft though which makes up for everything else. Soft enough to make up for 30% juice??? Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: BigTomatoes on August 21, 2008, 10:11:11 PM the on i played in charged £10 then put £8 of that into the prizepool wtf ??
i'd rather pay the £12 and have £10 go into the prizepool , pretty poor , the one i played in has been trying hard to get good organisaition and structure etc , but they've got the buy in wrong , licensing is their problem not the players after all Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: StuartHopkin on August 21, 2008, 10:23:54 PM The games are very soft though which makes up for everything else. Soft enough to make up for 30% juice??? No their terrible value now. Back in the day of the unlimited £10 rebuy, it was a whole different story! To be honest I havn't been for a few months but I have an ROI of 110% there, the prize pools were very top heavy as they only paid top 3 no matter how many entrants there were. I probably only like cos I run good there though, compared to everywhere else where I run bad. Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: StuartHopkin on August 22, 2008, 01:47:06 AM Yeah your probably right. Theres just no money there now.
In nottingham it used to be Thursday £20 freezeout making a pool of about £1200 so 1st was £400 Sunday £10 unlimited rebuy making a pool of about £1800 so 1st was about £600 Between me and 2 of my mates we took it down about 4.5 weeks none stop it was so soft. Its still soft but 4 hours of complete fish to win £75 just isnt worth the time and annoyance. I know it sounds petty to complain about £3 facility charge, but when the organisation is bad, and there isnt even spare decks of cards going around to replace marked cards, that's pretty bad. I think that £10 of which £8 goes to prizepool is for the King Of Clubs? I think that pays the prize pool doesn't it? Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: smileriraq on August 22, 2008, 01:01:39 PM soft game in rileys???
Not the one in Newport as one of my mates friends works there and runs a pretty good tournament admitteddly tho its a mates sit n go not an official tournament Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: kinboshi on August 22, 2008, 02:43:02 PM Do you get dealers for that £3? dealer dealt and a full complementary buffet kin, dont know what they are moaning about! It's a cheap night out then? People who play at this level are playing for fun. I'd pay the £3 for a buffet and dealers rather than have it fee free and have no buffet or dealers. Title: Re: Rileys charging 30% Juice on Live games Post by: TheChipPrince on August 22, 2008, 02:51:09 PM £10 + £5 is still fair ifs its dealer dealt and buffet IMO

We lived for three months in a rolled-up newspaper in a septic tank! We used to have to get up every morning at six o'clock and clean the newspaper, go to work down the mill, fourteen hours a day, week in, week out, for six pence a week, and when we got home, our dad would slash us to sleep with his belt!
