£37.43 for a fkin Turkey, and it aint even the whole bird, apparently its a crown ... didnt go down too well when i said "well for nigh on 40 quid it better have fkin jewels on it"

have a joint of beef on christmas day then have turkey during the week when you could pick up the same bird for £5

Have i just set a blonde record for the most expensive fkin Turkey ever ... or can anyone beat it ?

my sister just bought a bird and its costing me 6 hours of my life at £100 an hour that i would charge anyone employing me thats a £600 bird

yep Asda also want 30'ish quid for a "crown of turkey"..it's next to the Beef joints that are going for 12£.... I actually like beef!...but turkey is traditional and all that.

FFS, a month ago the same turkey would have been £6 or something like that as noone wants it at anyother time than Christmas.

I hate christmas..the only good thing about it is Boxing Day.

And on Xmas day i am so gonna get a bollocking for saying to the kids "yes, you have to eat it all, thats about 6 quids worth of meat on yer plate !!"

even a Turkey breast now goes for £20 FFS...that's ussually £4!....no matter what I buy most of it will probably be thrown out :(

Searched round many shops and couldnt find a big bird anywhere, had to get 2 little uns at £15 a piece but im sure the electric bill cooking them separate will cost loads...then again I have loads of old furniture needs burning so barbeque turkey is sounding good.

Got turkey half price saving tokens from my weekly shop.  €22 for a 16 lb bird and they threw in loads of local butcher made stuffing free.  Made home made cranberry sauce earlier this evening.  Container of cranberries...€1.20.  Bring it on!!!

My sister asked me to sort out the turkey this year and I thought I'd err on the side of caution and get a biggun.

16lbs between 6 of us should suffice I thought.

Decided on a fresh one so ordered it from the butchers where I get all my dog's food from cus it's a nice place.

Eventually went to pick up my emu on Christmas eve.

FIFTY EIGHT FOOKIN QUID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the plus side everyone said it was the nicest they've ever had and we're actually enjoying the emu stew / emu sandwiches that are still available.

I took 8 of my family out to dinner christmas day to save the hassle of cooking washing up and the stress that can occur from running around, highlight of the day was a tight wad member of the family saying lets buy our own drinks and proceeding to buy themselves and one other a drink "cause i owe you one".  I seriously had to restrain from saying well pay for your own ******* dinner.

Insta scrubbed off invite list for next year.

Family don't you just love'em at times.
