It would be nice to give some of the youth in this country a kicking in the cells rather than some magistrate giving a fine. I'm sure it would deter them at an early age away from crime. Viciously attacking a fifteen year old girl is an infinitely worse crime than stealing a car and is very unlikely to act as a deterrent. It is much more likely to result in her having even less respect for authority imo.
