apart from paracetamol and going to the dentist is there any other ways of getting rid of it? the whole side of my face is throbbing and i cant seem to shake it for more than an hour (with pills btw) Title: Re: Wisdom teeth Post by: ScotlandStu on May 04, 2009, 02:49:42 PM The area is probably infected. You need a course of antibiotics. See your dentist asap. Title: Re: Wisdom teeth Post by: JayEm1 on May 04, 2009, 02:54:04 PM The area is probably infected. You need a course of antibiotics. Title: Re: Wisdom teeth Post by: ScotlandStu on May 04, 2009, 04:02:28 PM Yes, you are correct age [18-22] . However if this is a lower tooth it may be impacted i.e. not enough room to erupt. See your dentist. Title: Re: Wisdom teeth Post by: Newmanseye on May 04, 2009, 04:05:04 PM You post a Dental question jayem, and Stu ( who is a retired Dentist ) answers, Heed his advice, he knows his bizniz
Title: Re: Wisdom teeth Post by: HOLDorFOLD on May 04, 2009, 04:05:53 PM Ditto above about see your dentist. In the meantime, try Anbesol to numb the pain (or shredded clove - tastes like shite though).
Anbesol is a yellowish liquid that you dab over the gum and tooth with your finger. Better than bonjela). You can get it from Boots or any Chemist. See your dentist. good luck. Title: Re: Wisdom teeth Post by: Sark79 on May 05, 2009, 12:21:46 AM I am nearly 30 and I have a back wisdom tooth coming through at the moment. Last week I visited my kinder egg certified dentist and he confirmed my suspicions that it was a wisdom tooth. He said that he has seen them coming through in people older than me. The dude aint very good to be honest so I am not 100% sure if he is correct. There is a shortage of good dentists where I stay unfortunately. This is probably the case everywhere I guess.
My dentist told me to rise my mouth with diluted tcp to numb the painfull area and come back in a few weeks if it didn't fix itself. Title: Re: Wisdom teeth Post by: Dewi_cool on May 05, 2009, 12:25:03 AM pliers & whisky ffs

I recall when I first started playing the game I got sat next to Stu, I was feeling out of my element with so many extrovert personalities in what was at that time an alien environment, Stu obviously picked up on this, put me at ease with a few words as we had been chatting a wee bit at the table. My concern was how to handle all the speech play and crazy bingo players. He simply said " let your cards talk for you, It will get quieter when these guys are at the other end of the casino at the bar and you are in the final." Sure enough He was right, when my chips went i I buttoned my lip and stared straight in front, whilst people called and folded their way to the rail. Sorry for the Hijack but a wee story worth telling about a really nice fella in my opinion. Title: Re: Wisdom teeth Post by: blueskyblue on June 03, 2009, 06:44:59 AM I went to a dentist to have it extracted. It's good that it had been out. My dentist said it was impacted.
Yes, I agree that if your tooth begins to hurt, see a dentist.
