all perfectly legal. 2 docs have to sign off on it and will do it without the parents knowledge if they think it's in the girl's interest

by 'drs' I presume you mean her own GP?  In the case of underage girls the decision as to whether she is competent to decide for herself without parental involvement will be taken by the doctors that sign it off, based on their assessment of her maturity.  How it should be imo.

lol at level of maturity. Having unprotected sex at age of 13/14 or not using contraception. Hell, having sex at all at that age is bad enough! Parents should be told and the kid should get a bloody good bollocking too.

no method of contraception offers 100% protection.  perhaps if the girl thought her parents would give her a 'bloody good bollocking' rather than support, that was why she chose to go it alone?

I think she got a bloody good bollocking hence her problem.

Failure to educate properly & explain +ves & -ves will always lead to the underage pregnancies & the lack of trust in the parents that this seems to show.

just done a quick search and can't find anything like this recently in the news, so perhaps CIA was just offering us a hypothetical scenario?

It won't be in the news, ldo, the parents might find out.

I just hope they don't play poker.

we really ought to decide whether thay've got a right to know so we know whether one of us should go round and tell them

That's a relief - her dad's a big bloke.

I think Claw should be the one to break the news.

If it's me, gatso or AndrewT, the dad might get the wrong idea as to who the father is and start going apeshit.

CIA should do it obv - I'm voting for respecting the girl's rights to not tell her parents!

What about the hidden cost of all these liberal policies. Who stops to consider the livelyhood of the man at the bottom of the dirty lane with the rusty coathanger when they come up with these loony laws.

I think pregnant girls under the age of 15 years and 2 months should have to put it up on their bebo before they get an abortion.

This is the beauty of women sworn to secrecy then tell there nearest lol

the girls mum was sworn not to tell anyone(by said girl herself) but had to tell someone and told Lisa and she told me,

dont think they will be on here if they are dont tell them i told you so  ;)

i just think it's outrageous that it can happen,i can see why it is done but what would happen if something went wrong (= i dunno about the procedures nowdays is it by tablet or (cough) internal op?

not having a daughter myself i wouldnt know how i would feel..
