A number of those being staked by Blatch have PM'd me to see if a Seat can be reserved for them, as they will not have the wherewithal until Neil pays them on Saturday.

Parallel with that, Neil wrote to me & asked if he could Reserve 10 Seats for his Staking initiative.

So we are in danger of duplication here.

Capacity is, I think, about 270, so we are getting close to the line, just to complicate things.

8 specific flips in a row is 1 in 256 (0.39%) but you generally don't start counting until the first occurence so it's actually 1 in 128 (0.78%)

I would not have thought so Claire. Tournament Poker has never struck me a suitable betting medium, to be honest. The bookies must get a skinner 95% of the time, & the punters have sussed that. Picking the winner of a (say) 200 runner poker Touney, where very few players indeed have more than a very small edge, is not exacyly +ev for anyone. People do bet on it though, remarkably. Fools & money, & all that. Roulette probably gives better odds of winning.

why do you say remarkably?  I think it's a good novelty market.  With the number of runners in something like this, it's anyone's game, and I can't imagine the bookies losing out often with the bets spread out over a large field.  I like having the odd couple of quid on a few people to keep some interest in the tournament once I'm on the rail ;D

Busto 3 minutes before the buffet, AKA the perfect time to bust any comp where you dont cash. Still not fast enough to beat RedDog to the front of the queue though.
Food was OK, poker was crap. Never got a foot in the game, made what turned out to be a terrible laydown that left me short early never got back from it.
Halved my liability with Blatch pre tourn so not a total loss for him, really hope one of the horses binks this as hes a top guy.

Gl those peeps still in and also Dave shoelace good to put a face to a name gl bud.

I can't remember exactly who his horses were, but he had at least one Finalist, Mukesh Kanabar, who finished 8th. 27 places were paid, so hopefully he had a few more cashees.

I came out of the whole event losing about 1k, which all things considered im quite happy with.

Fran cashed and Muks finished 8th.

Really pleased for Muks as he playd well and got a quality slow roll in with aces against a guy who had been winding him up all day.  Feel a bit bad for Fran as she played really well and then eventually lost that all important flip.

All in all was a fantastic weekend and something I may consider doing again in the future.

Big thanks to Tk and Des and team for all their help sorting everything out for me.

Excellent stuff fella, the staking was much appreciated.
