Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: Somerled on August 16, 2009, 03:38:57 PM At current rate of progress he could do it before the end of this year.

Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: Longy on August 16, 2009, 10:39:41 PM Am i missing something? How is he even number 2? Has everyone else retired. He has won more tournaments than anyone in Mens tennis in the last 12 months, admittedly they aren't the ones that count. Safina is world no.1 and has never won a slam. Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: Somerled on August 17, 2009, 12:33:18 AM Yeah but if you look at the Majors, he lost in Australia when he should have been in hospital, The French he did better than expected, by far. And at Wimbledon he probably should have beaten Roddick, but Roddick played a fantastic match. The last time he lost to someone he shouldn't have was, I think, the Olympics. He's there on merit and I think even Rafa would admit it.
But still a way to go to overtake the Master. Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: bolt pp on August 18, 2009, 04:56:27 AM Am i missing something? How is he even number 2? Post by: mondatoo on August 25, 2009, 11:02:04 PM Murray 2nd seed for US open does this mean he can't play federer or nadal until the final yeah ?
Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: Josedinho on August 25, 2009, 11:08:52 PM Doesn't 2nd seed meet 3rd seed in the semi? so if Nadal is 3 i guess Murray Nadal semi.
Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: scotty2hatty on August 25, 2009, 11:13:41 PM I can never remember if it is 1v3 and 2v4 in semis, or 1v4 and 2v3.
Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: mondatoo on August 25, 2009, 11:18:56 PM Actually it is 2v3 as murray wudve been up against nadal at wimbledon iirc
Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: henrik777 on August 26, 2009, 12:11:49 AM Last year Nadal (1) was to meet Ferrer (4)
Federer (2) was to meet Djokovic (3) This years draw is tomorrow. Sandy Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: Longy on August 26, 2009, 12:36:35 AM I honestly believe Nadal is a better draw than Djokovic at this point, this is his worst surface and he is yet to regain his form. Murray vs Federer final ftw, though Federer's form in Cincinatti was ominous for any contender.
Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: henrik777 on August 26, 2009, 01:30:38 AM Murray isn't playing his best despite a win and a semi in his last 2.
It is good to avoid Federer until the final but you don't want a tough game in the semi beforehand like last year. Sandy Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: paulhouk03 on September 04, 2009, 11:14:24 AM Just wait till nadel regains fitness and match practice pretty sure he will dominate again. how old is murray?
Title: Re: Congratulations... Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: Somerled on September 04, 2009, 01:14:39 PM Just wait till nadel regains fitness and match practice pretty sure he will dominate again. how old is murray? Murray's a year younger. I think he's got a better chance of a long career. Nadal's knees look pretty ropey for the future. Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: mckelinho on September 04, 2009, 03:54:04 PM Murray has an incred all round game!! If you watch any of his past games with Nadal there is hardly anything between them! Murray has bad ankles but not bad bad, no where near as bad as nadals knee. Only reason his ankle is bad no and then is cos the amount of tourneys he plays. Federer is the all time greatest but Murray will be number 1 before long.
Boldie and Stuart there are more tournaments on tennis than just Wimbledon Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: Longy on September 04, 2009, 04:01:05 PM I have seen Nadal absoutley crush Murray on at least 3 occasions, Wimbledon 08', Indian Wells 09 and I think it was Hamburg 08 (admittedly on clay). I can't recollect any game even being slightly close, the closest being the one Murray did win at last years US open.

I can't recollect any game even being slightly close, the closest being the one Murray did win at last years US open. Erm...so the last time they played in a big tournament Murray won. Murray's been steadily improving and still has a way to go. There was a Spanish coach who trained Murray & Nadal as youngsters and he reckons Murray has a far better all round game than Nadal. Don't get me wrong, I reckon Nadal's definitely in the top 10 players who've ever played the game, but Murray's nearly there. Title: Re: Congratulations... Post by: mckelinho on September 04, 2009, 05:05:43 PM Murray is by far at his career peak just now and better than he was 1 year ago when he beat Nadal. Point proven
