Very moving. Must've been good. It kept me away from the pub. Title: Re: Lost Land of the Volcano Post by: Claw75 on September 08, 2009, 01:55:37 PM anyone watch the program about 9/11 on C4 last night? it was the best t.v program ive ever watched sky plussed it and just finished watching it now. pretty haunting stuff. Did you think it was a bit "Blair witch" but in daylight and you new it really did happen? Cus I did, especially the bit when there's a young woman in a building a couple of miles away with a camera who see's the second plane hit and goes nuts screaming. "I don't want to be on the 32nd floor of this building, I've got to get out of here" It really shows how people felt at the time. Why would anybody think that they weren't next? It was basically a war happening in their neighbourhood. Scary. It was basically a war happening in their neighbourhood. Scary. yes, very much so. I remember when it happened feeling nervous being in a highrise building on the other side of the atlantic. God Knows how they must have felt seeing it with their own eyes. But yeah, seeing things from the perspecitve of the eye witnesses (and I related to the woman acting calmly telling her son to go to his room, then the horror in her voice when he was safely out of earshot) brings home again the extent of the horror faced by so many people that day. Scary. this was one of the most immense bits of the whole program, her reaction was unreal, for a t.v program to make me recoil so often, put my hands on my head in despair and make me say"jesus christ" so often for the full two hours is just unbelievable. no voiceover needed just two full chronological hours of the whole thing, seriously one of, if not, the best programs ive ever watched. did have that sort of blairwitch(cant remember the name of the other film where the monster attacks NY) thing going on and it was just amazing, the sort of program that makes two years worth of crap t.v worthwhile when it comes along. Title: Re: Lost Land of the Volcano Post by: Scottish Dave on September 08, 2009, 09:15:32 PM Does this actually have anything to do with Volcano's?

Worst bit was the phonecall about the units the fire department had at one of the towers. Just never stopped reeling off units.

Worst bits for me were the recordings of the 911 calls from people inside the towers, with them being told to just stay where they were and wait for help. And the people who decided jumping out was a better option. Title: Re: Lost Land of the Volcano Post by: Laxie on September 08, 2009, 10:48:48 PM Can't get 4OD in Ireland, but found it here:

I feel for the people that told them to stay put because they had no idea what the best thing to do was.

Did anyone see the programme the night before where they played the tape of the guy who was on the phone to the emergency services at the moment the building collapsed? Really hit home that one. edit - found it on you tube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbOzSeu6sJA Title: Re: Lost Land of the Volcano Post by: Delboy on September 09, 2009, 12:06:44 AM anyone watch the program about 9/11 on C4 last night? it was the best t.v program ive ever watched sky plussed it and just finished watching it now. pretty haunting stuff. Insect man on top of a mountain saying that "Just think that in 30 years this could be gone and my grand children will never get a chance to see it".
Well, we lived for 1000's of years without seeing those moths and it's very unlikely that they will be climbing up a 3k foot mountain to go an watch some moths, don't ya think? The general public won't be able to see them in the flesh as it's up that vulcano wall and they don't have choppers available and if you send too many people up there everything will probably die out. Every 5 minutes it was "and this could be destroyed by logging"...yeah we know!...Tell, ya what..mention it once or twice during a show..that's enough...honest it is. ruined an otherwise very nice program IMO.
