A crowd has gathered around the update chairs featuring Red Dog, whom I would be happy to give a go updating if I thought he could drag himself away to go and play. Malc-M is here too; pictures will be coming once we've got them sitting still in their seats.

We can only wonder what's going on in their hands (and heads) at this point. Full chip counts, in order, coming in the next 20 minutes, when we reckon they will have moved around enough to be of interest.

Just saw Simon Nowab coming out of the cardroom, but he said, "No, only lost half of them. With pocket Jacks." Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: ifm on December 10, 2005, 07:00:24 PM Is snoppy doing any work?

His JJ was taken out by AQ. The majority of his chips had been lost earlier when his flush was rivered by two pair, KQ, which made a full house. I'm starting to get peckish here. Any1 got a bone? Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 07:29:40 PM Near the start of the comp, Tikay added a few chips to his starting stack when he called Burnley John's preflop raise with Td 9d.
Flop came 9c 9s 5h Burnley John was holding pocket fives and had dollar signs in his eyes. Fortunatley for the old fella, the turn came the case nine, saving tikay's stack from serious damage. River was a ten for good measure. Just saw him moving all-in on a Ah Ks Kd Kc board (!) and getting a caller in Rob Yong. They both had raggy Aces to split the pot and Steve has to pick another spot to up his 1,100.
Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 07:42:42 PM Steve Vladar is now officially OUT.
He was down to the felt and pushed in with KQ. A flush draw arrived on the flop, but he failed to 'flush up'. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 07:43:50 PM Tikay still hovering around 12k

Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Karabiner on December 10, 2005, 07:52:23 PM Well I must say that Mr. Gallagher may just as well have been wearing black and white.

He's on 13k by the way. His table initially started with V Kanwar and Chubbs, who were 1st and 2nd at the UK Open with Paul (M3boy) coming in third. Apparantly Vic is sleeping today and reluctant to get involved. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 07:58:12 PM DingDell has 7.6k
Rob Yong, seated next door, holds 8k. Steve Bovis has risen to 20k. I like Steve. He has his chips neatly stacked so I can count them. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 08:02:53 PM Robert Binelli is OUT.
He's not looking too chuffed and he's quickly finishing off his pint. Burnley John has 12.5k. When I asked if Tikay was still running over the table, he didn't take the suggestion too well. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 08:05:45 PM I believe Dave Barnes may well be the chip leader with 35k. That's just an approximation though. You need to be Rainman to accurately count his stack!
Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 08:08:53 PM BREAKING NEWS You may need to be seated for this one. Anthony Kendall (Yes, that's what the plasma screen reads) is STILL in. He's hovering around 13k, but looking confident. He has plenty of green chips, which is the smallest denomination. From my experience, this is a sure sign of a blind stealer. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 08:13:17 PM You may have to record the office Louise. Yongster has just doubled up to 17k.

Both were in the blinds. JP held Th 7h and Tight had 8h 4h. The board came out a very harsh Ah 9h 2h putting Tighty into hot hot water. Tighty bet the flop, JP smooth called. Turn was a blank. Both checked. River was another blank. JP made a good check, Tighty bet, JP went all-in for his remainding stack and Tighty called. 9 high flush wins. Ouch. JP was short stacked though, so Tighty lives to fight for another day... or make the 3rd game 20 minutes up the road at cheesey. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Djinn on December 10, 2005, 08:45:22 PM The first break has come and gone and the intrepid players are now playing with blinds of 100 - 200. Still fairly small change, but according to Xuyen there are some early bustouts caused by this being a relatively small comp by some of these players' standards, and so the chase for the old ranking points has been the big draw...
Anyway, I think it's about time for you to see Pino Valentino's shirt, and a few familiar faces. So off with the camera. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 08:48:16 PM BLONDITE COUNT

Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 08:54:44 PM Stuart Nash and Paul Alterman give the table some minor action.

Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 09:03:50 PM Tighty is now back up to 9.5k after being very short stacked.
Back to back aces and he won both. Miracle. First set of pocket rockets saw JP raising preflop from early position. Tighty raises all-in and JP calls with jacks. The Tightster doubles up. Then, on the very next hand, Tighty receives a visit from the bullets yet again. This time Wernick calls his raise, but folds on the flop when Tighty bets out. Still, he's back in the game and looking a lot more confident. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Djinn on December 10, 2005, 09:06:17 PM Great Rob Yong double-up news now -
On a J 9 5 flop, he (from the big blind) bet 1k. Mateyboy raised to 3k, call. Turn: 4. Rob checked, then called the 2k bet. On the 2 river, Rob checked, and when his opponent put him all-in, called with 9d 6s. His opponent showed K 10. Back to 18,000. Here he is with Dingdell. Down to 1.1k, he makes his move only to turn over a strong hand, Ah Kd. Matey boy shows Kc Qc, and Trumper's comeback looks to be on. Unfortunately the board of 8c 6d Tc 8s Qh spoils the party and 'Aces' is a gonna. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Lou on December 10, 2005, 09:14:57 PM Hi Jen. KK was the hand which got him - Mickey raised with 4h 4s and he (sneaky sneaky) flat called. The J 4 2 board didn't look suspicious, but the betting took off and his poor old Kings ended up seeing the trips and busting him. Malc says his tip to win the European Championship is now Mr. Wernick. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 09:27:34 PM We're down to 7 tables.

Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Djinn on December 10, 2005, 09:33:15 PM I consider us more like soup - Tikay is the stock, holding it all together, I am the bits of carrot which add a bit of colour and texture, and snoopy is the pasta shapes which actually keep you going when you need some energy. But take away an ingredient and it's just less nice. Currently he is being regaled by Rob Yong who has re-lost half those chips. I feel a story coming on.

Well, from what I gather he called Bambos' raise with Js Qs. He bet on the 8 10 J flop, again on the 9 turn (unsurprisingly - that meant a straight and flush draw) but the wheels fell off with the Q on the river. Bambos set him in and he passed - the Kd Kc had suddenly come good. Let's see if Tikay''s going to double it back up.

It looks like it's all about those little flopped sets today - they've been responsible for a high proportion of the early exits, from Willie Tann to Mr. Sami just now. Paul King's AJ just lost him a fairly big pot too when the 2 10 J board brought someone else a set of Tens. But he's still in, just about. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 10:31:31 PM DingDell was down to the felt at one point but has now doubled up to 9.3k.
She raised preflop with A-T before moving all-in on a 2-4-5 flop. Mark Harris called with 9-9, but he was soon to be crying in his soup when the river brought a Ten. Nice. DingDell is still on what I refer to as the 'Table Of Dooooooooooooom'. Wernick, Irish Dennis, JP, Tighty, Womble, still accompanying her. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 10, 2005, 10:32:15 PM Womble - 3.2k
TightEnd - 5.5k JP - 9k Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Djinn on December 10, 2005, 10:41:26 PM Just as the blinds reach 300 - 600, Joe Grech takes out Trevor Webber, raising preflop with Th Jh. Trevor called in the blind with Kd 6c and hit the Kh 9h 6h board hard enough to push all-in, but Joe had hit it even better and gained another 8k or so.
Dan Samson doubles up - he saw a 3d 8h Qh board with Greek Jack, who bet and found an all-in check raise. He called with Kd Qc, which to be fair was ahead of Dan's Kh 9h, but the turn and river were both of the heart variety, and he knocked about 10k off K. Dionysiou's stack. Brace yourselves, it's a painful one. Mateyboy raises preflop to 2700. Simon flatcalls with A-K. Flop comes A-5-3 Simon moves all in for a whopping 35k in order to win the pot there and then. Mateyboy calls and shows A-Q. Queen on the turn and Zach is out, understandably devestated. Mateyboy is now stacked up and probably chip leader. We'll try and get his name for you. New arrival at the table, Carlo Citrone, raises it up preflop to 2800. Boody, sitting on the big blind, peers down to see Big Slick, Ah Kc, and moves all-in for 19k. Carlo calls in a flash and shows Qs Qh. Flop is good for boody, but dangerous. Jh Ts Qd Boody holds his breath as the turn comes 2c. Then devestation when the dealer flips over the river to reveal the Jc giving Carlo a full house. Hard luck Mr Boody. The board always teases. He moves all-in from the button with Ac 8c. The big blind ponders momentarily before calling with Ad 9h. Flop comes a rather lovely looking Jc Td Js Turn = Kd giving Tikay a split pot. River = harmless 5s So... BREAKING NEWS Tikay is still in! Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Djinn on December 11, 2005, 01:29:04 AM With a stack of over 80k, Stuart Fox is threatening the chip leaders. He just knocked out another player with a lucky pair of Deuces (they were up against QQ) - they hit a flop of Kc Kd 2s square on and (all-in on the flop) gave him a tower of chips. Which is hard to count accurately.
Also out are Pino Valentino (who never took his coat off long enough for me to snap his great shirt), Martin Green, and Chris Mycroft. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 11, 2005, 01:29:36 AM Hold onto your hats folks.
Tikay has doubled up. Yes people of Blonde, you heard me right. Tikay has some chips!!! His preflop raise found a caller in chip leader Adda. Adda shows J-J. Tikay turns over a King, followed by... Blimey, it's another King. And it isn't a misread! The board is harmless and the cowboys stand up for the cowboy. Tikay's back in town guns ablazing. Yeeeeeehaaaaa... Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Djinn on December 11, 2005, 01:36:30 AM More counts (not planning on kissing the players, sadly - not part of the remit) but will pass on the goodwill :)

RED-DOG - 20.8k He was on 9.5k, but has just doubled up. He went all-in from the button with Ah 3s. The big blind called with Ad 4d. Board = 3s Ts 8d 6h Qs Tikay - 16k Foxy - around 90k I believe M3boy is down to 5k. He is looking rather disgruntled and is fiddling around with one 5k chip. I don't think he has any others. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Djinn on December 11, 2005, 01:55:26 AM AA gets hammered by KQ news now (thanks a bundle to Helen - how helpful is that?) -
When the board brings KKJJx the Kings full (for Paul Garnham) looks good against poor old Stephen Lennon's Rockets. The pace is definitely picking up. Womble faces an all-in bet from mateyboy directly on his left. Womble does some first class dwelling with a flop of Ad 7d 5d before mucking and showing the Ac. Womble is left with 14k. Blinds 600-1200, so no need to panic. ARGH!!!!!!!! Ian Woodley is OUT. Perrault raises preflop with A-J, Woodley reraises all-in with A-K, Perrault makes a brave call. Board = 9-T-Q-8-3 ... giving Pascal a straight. Ouch. Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Djinn on December 11, 2005, 02:16:42 AM We are down to just three tables. Aerial view full table photos to follow (well, me standing on a chair view). But first, spare a thought for Ian Woodley, who is out and experiencing that "sick of poker" feeling when AK is beaten by both AQ and AJ in fairly rapid succession. He says he'll be going to bed never wanting to play again, but probably by tomorrow night be looking for a game. Such is poker.

T xx Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: Djinn on December 11, 2005, 02:40:09 AM I must report the demise of Tikay - He spotted a spot on the button and moved in (short stacked again after Ariel Adda pushed him off a big pot) with 6h 7d. Great timing, as the big blind had Ks Kd! The flop and turn brought some hope - 7 8 8 5, but the 5 river sent him out so close to (yet) another final. Don't let him try to convince you that it was him with the Kings, as I just saw with RedDog and Tracey...

Having been cruelly dismissed from the tourney (Ok I made a rubbish call) I spent the rest of the evening with Kev drinking gin at the bar and putting the world to rights....never ever drink at the casino so it made a nice change to loose money and care even less about it than before.....hmmmmm..... Good luck to every one that's left but especially Bern Litman who I have 10% of! :D Title: Re: LUTON XMAS CRACKER - MAIN EVENT Post by: snoopy1239 on December 11, 2005, 05:54:05 AM You driving back Snop or stopping over? driving no... hold on... driven Better get some kip.
