Free of income tax, old man, free of income tax. The only way you can save money nowadays. and In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed - but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. Al Pacino's rant from 'And Justice For All' "You're out of order, these people are out of order, this whole god damn courtroom is out of order." Butch and Sundance coming out shooting, Aragorn and Theoden riding out to meet their foes at the end of 'The Two Towers.' Thelma and Louise driving over the edge of the cliff. I enjoyed all of the above because they were 'cool'. For the ultimate tear jerker though, it's gotta be 'Forrest Gump' for me. The scene near the end where he's talking to Jenny's grave and says... In fifth grade, I knocked my sister Edie down the stairs and I blamed it on the dog...When my mom sent me to the summer camp for fat kids and then they served lunch I got nuts and I pigged out and they kicked me out...But the worst thing I ever done -- I mixed a pot of fake puke at home and then I went to this movie theater, hid the puke in my jacket, climbed up to the balcony and then, t-t-then, I made a noise like this: hua-hua-hua-huaaaaaaa -- and then I dumped it over the side, all over the people in the audience. And then, this was horrible, all the people started getting sick and throwing up all over each other. I never felt so bad in my entire life. Jake Fratelli : I'm beginning to like this kid, Ma! If you want to talk about Spielberg - let's do Duel :) I put it to you Sir, you cried at the end of Lassie Come Home when you were 10, and have never admitted it to anyone! Oooooh You had a good point till you mentioned some Princess film. Never seen it, but it's got the word Princess and Bride in it so therefore must be soppy woppy and no self respecting manny would watch it unless in the company of someone he intends to mount later the same evening. You are allowed to like girly films I suppose Heid. Especially as you're a girl. So I'll shhhhhh up now and leave you to it. (thought Goonies was Richard Donner, not Spielberg) Title: Re: O/T Great moments in films..... Post by: Newmanseye on December 14, 2005, 11:40:10 AM The princess bride was a great movie, quite funny. I'm pretty sure it was a mel brooks film which just adds to the appeal.

(thought Goonies was Richard Donner, not Spielberg) Seriously - watch the Princess Bride - it's not what you think it is - that's why it works - and the whole point of it. Yeah it was a Donner film, but it was produced, written etc by Spielberg, and we all know what a control freak Spielberg is - Donner may have the credit for directing, but that aint what happened... Heid xx Title: Re: O/T Great moments in films..... Post by: thetank on December 14, 2005, 11:52:59 AM I'll give it a look if I get a chance then.

Post by: Heid on December 14, 2005, 12:00:55 PM I missed a huge moment, cant believe i missed it. Empire strikes back, Just before han gets frozen in carbonite, Leia " I love you" Han " I know" nuff said, just bloody perfect. OK Geek alert... interesting story about that scene. Carrie Fisher was heavily into her drug abuse period around the time of filming of Empire, and she kept having huge problems with her lines. This scene was meant to be much longer, and loads more lines - after a lot (10+) retakes where Fisher kept messing up, Ford shoved the "I know" bit in as an ad lib, and it worked so they kept it! The bit in Raiders where Indiana shoots the swordsman - you wanna hear how that happened? Title: Re: O/T Great moments in films..... Post by: thetank on December 14, 2005, 12:03:31 PM .....ah go on.
Astound us with your trivia Title: Re: O/T Great moments in films..... Post by: Newmanseye on December 14, 2005, 12:05:07 PM I believe it was supposed to be a sword fight, when harrison stopped and said that his character would not figh, he would simply shoot the swordsman, they all aggreed and I believe thats how that one came about.

Okies... so they were in Tunisia during the filming of Raiders, and the whole cast and crew got dysentry..all exhausted..the scene is supposed to be an elaborate whip/sword affair. It was the last shot of the day and everyone was feel like death. First take, Ford tell Spielberg and Lucas to trust him ... and then ad libs the shooting, completely out of the blue. Oh and the bit in Last Crusade where Connery tells the secret of Indiana's dog - it's true - apart from the fact that It's Spielberg's dog who was the inspiration for Dr. Jones' name. I'm so looking forward to the Pub Quiz :) Title: Re: O/T Great moments in films..... Post by: TightEnd on December 14, 2005, 12:10:41 PM unfortunately, the film round is now cancelled

Nice Chewie pic btw :) Let's all hail Kirshner as the true god he is eh? If I'd been capable of creaming my pants when I saw SE of Empire I would have when I saw what they didn't do to it :) I didn't think Lucas was capable of subtlety, but thank god he found it in himself for Empire.. Title: Re: O/T Great moments in films..... Post by: mikkyT on December 14, 2005, 05:05:21 PM Who mentioned the Goonies..... the goonies, when the fratellis are interrogating chunk Francis Fratelli : Tell us everything! Everything! Chunk : Everything. OK! I'll talk! In third grade, I cheated on my history exam. In fourth grade, I stole my uncle Max's toupee and I glued it on my face when I was Moses in my Hebrew School play. Rod, I have to point out that this quote contains too many full stops. He does the whole scene breathing in only once. Or maybe twice. Momma, you been bad. Title: Re: O/T Great moments in films..... Post by: suzanne on December 16, 2005, 01:21:18 AM Aww "Lassie" now that brings back some memories. I remember one episode/film where a little boy has fallen down a hillside and has broken his leg. "Get help Lassie..get help" Lassie cocks her head from side to side and gives a little whimper, she then turns round and runs as fast as her legs can take her to the top of the hill, stoping once to turn round and give another whimper, "Go Lassie Go" the little boy said. So off she goes, higher and higher, finally reaching the top. She barks and barks to the conveniently passing helicopter "Whats wrong with Lassie" says the co-pilot."Lets go find out" says the pilot. Helicopter lands, "Whats up girl" co pilot asks, Lassie barks back "Little boy has broken his leg..follow me" and points his nose in the direction of where he is. Pilot grabs his first aid kit and they both follow Lassie.
Cut to next scene..Little boy on a strecher (in the first aid kit?) being loaded onto the helicopter giving Lassie a big hug "Thank you Lassie...you saved me". Lassie is grinning from ear to ear (how do they get dogs to do that?) Final scene...Helicopter takes off rushing towards the hospital with Lassie dangling on a piece of rope, flying through the air, strapped up in a harness 100ft below the aircraft looking like a starfish. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen. Errr what else.."The Money Pit" when the bath goes through the floor "Porky's" ...."is there a Mike Hunt in the bar" and for the girlies, the finale of "The Full Monty" Title: Re: O/T Great moments in films..... Post by: Scottish Dave on December 16, 2005, 02:41:10 AM now that In the name of the father has just finished, i must add 2 moments in this movie:
1/ The bit when Gysepy conlon dies and they are burning the news papers out the window, the music to this scene is remarkable! 2/ the bit at the end when they are dismissed of all charges, and gerry walks over all the seats through the croud to walk out the front fookin door, and innocent man! So i tend to watch one one night and the next the next, if that makes sence lol Title: Re: O/T Great moments in films.....
