Title: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: Girgy85 on January 25, 2010, 10:10:16 PM Hi guys

I aim to raise as much money as possible and i know u guys are a generous bunch! I have started it off with £5, any amount will be gratefully received! TY Girgy why do you need a "challenge" didnt you have that enough with the 50 odd page thread before and then someone sponsoring you to go vegas or something as well if you could do it, if that wasnt incentive enough............. Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: Cf on January 26, 2010, 03:01:31 AM Isn't 3 miles in 50 minutes pretty much walkable?
Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: ViiperUK on January 26, 2010, 03:19:39 AM im tempted to do the 6 mile one in glasgow lol
Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: byronkincaid on January 26, 2010, 08:03:12 AM happy to sponsor people to sit in a bath of snakes or spend the night in a tank of tarantulas or streak at the FA Cup final or something. but it seems like everyone wants to get sponsored to lose weight or get fit. i'm gonna do some squats and shoulder presses today. anyone wanna sponsor me?
no offense girgy i'm talking in general not you specifically. Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: thetank on January 26, 2010, 04:34:56 PM As sponsored stuff goes, it's not as bad as the sponsor me to go on an amazing bike riding holiday and we'll chuck the change to charity type deals or the sponsor me to have a fun day out skydiving and we'll chuck the change to charity.
Might bung you a fiver or some shit if you set a time goal that meant you'd actually have to run for 3 miles. 50 minutes is silly, my asda is a mile and a half away, I walk there, do my shopping and walk back with the bags in about 50 minutes. Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: lazaroonie on January 26, 2010, 04:44:09 PM Might bung you a fiver or some shit think sport relief would prefer the fiver. Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: EvilPie on January 26, 2010, 07:02:05 PM Come on Girgy make it a bit tough for yourself.
Are you planning on jogging this because as others have said 50 minutes is walkable. I'm not sponsoring anyone to have a bit of a stroll but if you're having to put in a bit of training beforehand to be able to achieve something that you can't do now it might be worth a fiver. Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: George2Loose on January 26, 2010, 07:06:03 PM Don't laugh but I'm having a crack at the 6 mile run. Might set up a rival thread and sell %s
Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: Girgy85 on January 26, 2010, 07:32:29 PM Right gonna do this in under 40 minutes!! Im not gonna be able to job the whole 3 miles without a couple of walks in between.
Get your fivers in Please! Don't laugh but I'm having a crack at the 6 mile run. Might set up a rival thread and sell %s Good luck George! Remember its for Charity!! Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: EvilPie on January 26, 2010, 07:36:49 PM Plenty of time to get the fivers in.
I'll hold on to mine until this thread is a month old. Sorry bud but you've got to work for it. Get to it Girgy. GLGL Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! GLGL Thanks Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: thetank on January 26, 2010, 07:40:54 PM I'll sponsor you 1p for every second you manage under 40 minutes.
That's a fiver if you manage it in 31 minutes and 40 seconds. Get some work done if you want people's money imo. I'm not sponsoring anyone to have a walk unless his name is Ironside. (who could easy do 3 miles in under half an hour btw) Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: GreekStein on January 26, 2010, 10:30:44 PM I'll give you fifteen quid if you walk slower than you talk!
Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: pokerfan on January 26, 2010, 10:39:15 PM £5 For a goonie style chuffle shuffle. (Must be posted on youtube for proof)
Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: paulhouk03 on January 27, 2010, 12:29:12 PM If you dont think you can run 3 miles without stopping maybe that should be your aim. its about 4.8 km. i think 30 mins should be your target too. 9.6 on the treadmill for 30 mins.
Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: LeedsRhodesy on January 27, 2010, 12:39:56 PM What I will do mate is start by giving you £40 but you lose £1 for every min it takes you so if it takes you 40 mins or over you get £0 39 mins £1, 38 mins £2. Make your goal 30mins and you get £10

Post by: Girgy85 on January 28, 2010, 09:50:53 PM I'll give you fifteen quid if you walk slower than you talk! It would probably take you a few seconds to complete 3 miles! Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: EvilPie on January 28, 2010, 09:57:52 PM If Girgy did this in 30 minutes he'd probably die.
Give the guy a chance ffs. 40 would be plenty good enough for me to say he's achieved something worthy of one of my hard earned fivers. Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: byronkincaid on March 21, 2010, 03:35:28 PM iirc you were doing 15 minute miles on a treadmill a few months ago so 10 min miles irl is very impressive imo. i wonder what % of blondes would be quicker? surely that's enough running now tho, time to buy starting strength?

Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief! Post by: byronkincaid on March 21, 2010, 04:11:19 PM I'm due an assesment with a trainer at the gym so I will ask them to do a program with me 2moro! he'll write out some bodybuilding routine. there are a million posts on teh internet about whether SS or BBing is best for noobs. thing is from a gym's perspective they would rather have you sitting on machines and pay their staff £5 an hour than pay for people who can teach lifting correctly. anyway everything works to start with. gl Title: Re: Raising Money for Sport Relief!
