I don't really like the idea of a bash at DTD. They'd have all their usual tournies on i'm guessing and it'd be full of non-blonde people. And expensive. And I spend enough time there anyway.

I'd rather it was somewhere I've not been before. Though obviously this can never be the case for everyone :)

Seriously though, what would be done to organise a proper, official bash?

Title: Re: change of subject
Post by: Claw75 on February 10, 2010, 12:24:40 AM
i'm guessing that the mods need to get heads together to sort dates, venues etc that fit in with them before doing anything else. would be good to have another bash sooner rather than later - the year between the last two was too long imo.

I was discussing this with DTD today.

Plan is to have a DTD bash by early summer.  Saturday main event, Sunday side events incl Omaha. 200 people.

Online qualification via DTD online for weekend packages. Possibly Online Qualification only

Working on dates asap, to get sats up and running asap

it was too long, but entirely down to our financial problems as was well documented

From here on in, under the terms of our arrangement, its DTD all the way, probably twice a year.

Seems fair to me that if you want to go to a blonde/DTD bash, you have to sign up on the cardroom.  I'd expect that direct buy-ins will also be allowed - but who knows?

I guess no DTD tie-in then no blonde Bashes.  'Tis a bit of shame that there won't be any on 'tour', but I guess there are plenty of other tournaments and fessies for that.

I've only played one APAT game and I didn't really enjoy it. It was full of loud mouthed drunk people. Quite a few people didn't like this and it didn't make for a nice atmosphere. I've not been to one of them since.

the blonde bash was full of... how can i put it... good drunk people. A few of the guys in the APAT thing just seemed like idiots that I had no desire to ever want to know.

And yeah it's a sample size of one. But given how much effort it was to actually get into the thing (clickfest thingy) I see no reason to really try it again.

yes, and a couple of temporary bans were issued as a result.  There was still fun to be had that weekend though, including an interesting chat about professinal jousting iirc, plus the drama of the running man.

APAT hat on

Walsall in Season 3 was a bit of a one off. Some poor player behaviour, and organisation difficulties with the venue. It may have changed since but at the time Walsall was at a low ebb. It was, by far, our most difficult weekend. There was one isolated instance at the DTD event in late summer that led to a player ban, but Walsall apart to characterise APAT as being played by drunks/unenjoyable etc is incorrect, I think.

Season 4. Very close. Will satisfy Ironside, which is good for starters, and really is a very exciting year ahead for our members.

I got into poker through APAT weekends.

But i dont think you can compare Blonde Bashes with APAT weekends.

Apat Weekends = Blonde Bash if it was full of Bainns

LOL
