Title: Good Luck Mother Hen Post by: tikay on February 10, 2010, 12:38:20 PM Simon Trumper has gone to Paris - via Eurostar, lucky bugger - for the European Poker Awards, where's he's been nominated again. For what he's done at DTD as to how Tournaments should be run, nobody deserves the Award more. He does the job at DTD spectacularly well, night in, night out, 4 Tourneys a day sometimes, & all run beautifully. If anyone deserves a Poker award, he does, imo, & I'm privileged to be able to call him a close friend. He's honest, with a terrific sense of humour, generouus, caring, & most of all, he's a man's man, a good man. Good luck Simon. Title: Re: Good Luck Mother Hen Post by: DaveShoelace on February 12, 2010, 06:23:08 PM I am a judge this year at the awards and we have just finished out judgey duties. I have no idea who has won as yet, the chairperson of our meeting is the only one who does so I am just as eager in anticpiation of seeing who wins what.
Simon and Pauls category was a really tough one, I went into the meeting with a very strong idea of who I thought might win, but having since learnt about some of the other nominees its opened my eyes up a bit to some of the hard work that has gone on in poker outside of the UK & Ireland. I think its the most open category in the whole awards, which is a good thing for us punters. I cant say who I voted for yet until tomorow, I will post the results here, but hopefully the guy I voted for will come up trumps tonight ;) Right Im off to get pissed and say 'bonjour' out of context a lot.
