Title: World Championships Snooker Post by: crip17 on April 14, 2010, 09:08:03 PM Decided to go with Ding @8/1 with Boylesports also refunding stake if Selby wins. Some sites like betfair offer 9s Playing really well lately, culminating in a china open final 2 weeks ago. Now i feel has the confidience and belief that he can beat anyone and no fear. I think now is his time to shine.
Higgins not playing well lately but obv capable of changing that in this tourney. Obv we don't know what Ronny will turn up. And if Selby does win we get our money back. had a little nible on Mark Allen @20 also playing decent lately and certinly not lacking in confidience. Title: Re: World Championships Snooker Post by: TightEnd on April 15, 2010, 01:40:46 PM FIRST ROUND (best of 19 frames)
John Higgins (Sco) v Barry Hawkins (Eng) Mark King (Eng) v Steve Davis (Eng) Neil Robertson (Aus) v Fergal O'Brien (Ire) Marco Fu (HK) v Martin Gould (Eng) Ali Carter (Eng) v Jamie Cope (Eng) Joe Perry (Eng) v Michael Holt (Eng) Ding Junhui (Chn) v Stuart Pettman (Eng) Shaun Murphy (Eng) v Gerard Greene (NI) Stephen Maguire (Sco) v Stephen Lee (Wal) Peter Ebdon (Eng) v Graeme Dott (Sco) Mark Allen (NI) v Tom Ford (Eng) Ryan Day (Wal) v Mark Davis (Eng) Mark Selby (Eng) v Ken Doherty (Ire) Stephen Hendry (Sco) v Anda Zhang (Chn) Mark Williams (Wal) v Marcus Campbell (Sco) Ronnie O'Sullivan (Eng) v Liang Wenbo (Chn) is the draw so Higgins in theory plays King in Rd 2 etc Looking at the toughest and weakest quarters. Think Ding Junhui's is the weakest quarter/possibly Maguire's, and the bottom one with Ronnie and Selby the toughest Title: Re: World Championships Snooker Post by: TheChipPrince on April 15, 2010, 03:47:44 PM Which casino does Gould deal at?

1pt ew Ali Carter@33/1 1pt ew Mark Allen@20/1 Both seem to have reasonable draws and seem slightly overpriced. Shame these prices weren't available with skybet as they have an ew first 4 market. Will see if there's any value in that particular market although the prices don't seem great. Got a feeling this afternoon's session could be 7-1/6-2 Higgins as he rarely doesn't produce when he really has to. Robortsen should stroll past Gould, 13/6-13/7, if Gould beats him over 25 frames all credit to him. He's down to 7's in most places so can't say I never gave you the chance to trade out. :D Probably be 6's after that game, but IF Higgins went he could be as short as 4's. Davis is a legend, he did an exhibition at my old man's club back in '95. The snooker was top drawer and the banter was even better. His fee was meant to be £7500 +vat which is a lot of money today never mind 15 years ago. Terry Griffiths had done an exhibition the year before and told Steve how nice the club and the place was. He agreed to do the exhibition for £2500 and it was probably the best one we ever had. Afterwards he was chatting with all the guests about Snooker, life and everything inbetween. Someone asked him the best title of all the ones he had won. His response was the Regal Welsh Open that year. We were all shocked until he explained that it was so much harder to win against what was then 'todays opponents'. The standard was much higher and to beat those players meant so much. Higgins simple isn't going to beat him 9-4 from here unless he bucks up his ideas big style (which he is well capable of). Frame 12 ronnie plays a tony shot and Referee calls touching ball. Ronnie walks back and tells him he is wrong and ends up telling him he needs to go to Specsavers and get his eyes tested. Still going on about it after the next shot. Could get in a spot of trouble ....... and as typing Selby misses leaving the white ball 3 inches short and Ronnie asks if the ref can see the gap this time lol Classic Ronnie - could cause a blow up though. Still a long long way to go yet but good start for Robertson,Carter be happy with 2-6 imo could've been worse. Mond's right, its basically 25 mins into a football match and Carter's 0-1 and struggling for possession. No change/surprise with Neil's play, just Carter sluggish. Cannot emphasie enough how Neil's game has matured, several shots he turned down then he would have swung the cue at 18 months ago. You can tell by the way he, or anyone for that matter treats the final black on a break how they're feeling, players struggling/need confidence/wanting to show the crowd will smash the black in, let the cue arm go, and take the applause. Players happy with their game/self-belief with roll the black/pot it normally. Robertson has rolled in every black normal pace this tournament. Title: Re: World Championships Snooker Post by: TheChipPrince on April 30, 2010, 12:53:28 PM 4 on the trot for Carter, not convinced he's playing brilliantly, but is a great battler

Title: Re: World Championships Snooker Post by: bobby1 on May 02, 2010, 02:54:29 AM Ive nicked this info from a diff forum but I liked it.
If Higgins gets banned then world number 17 Jamie Cope gets into the top 16 which is massive for him. Mike Dunn is currently world number 33 and he will get into the top 32 meaning less qualifying games and more events but the real winner will be world number 66 Simon Bedford as he is one place behind 65 ranked John parrot who is retiring, so Bedford would move from 66th to 64th in the rankings and then get more events and less qualifying matches too which will be simply huge for my local pro. Bedford might want to try the lottery this week or ask Jordan for a soapy he has run so good tonight. So why would he need to travel there to agree some sort of deal? The whole thing doesn't make sense. Title: Re: World Championships Snooker Post by: Woodsey on May 03, 2010, 02:16:38 AM I made some decent money on the Davis game because the odds were too long when Davis was several frames ahead imo. Higgins missed a ton of easy shots in that one, anyone think he may have thrown it?
Title: Re: World Championships Snooker Post by: The Camel on May 03, 2010, 02:17:59 AM I could be wrong, but I think it was just Mooney who met them 3 times, this was the 1st time Higgins was present... Oh ok. Just smacks of the Groblaar defence. If you ask 99% of football fans they will say he was guilty of match fixing. Yet it was v difficult to prove in court. I doubt a top 16 player would ever throw a World Championship match, unless his wife/kids were being threatened or something like that. If you have a minute I'd like you to look at this thread please and give me your thoughts as a pro punter. Is it just going to lead you down the busto route? http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=47477.45 Title: Re: World Championships Snooker Post by: TheChipPrince on May 03, 2010, 02:26:40 AM I made some decent money on the Davis game because the odds were too long when Davis was several frames ahead imo. Snooker gets virtually no coverage, so if anything is dodgy does go on, it'll be in the random torneys not even covered by tv... Not the 1 that eactually does grab a decent amount of attention. Title: Re: World Championships Snooker Post by: TheChipPrince on May 03, 2010, 02:29:05 AM I thibk Robbo is a little short at 1.4ish, plenty of snooker left in this... Not laid any off yet though, will hopefully be able to follow it frame by frame tomorrow.

it'll be made legal again now that yushchenko/timoshenko have been ousted but could take a while Title: Re: World Championships Snooker Post by: Josedinho on May 03, 2010, 10:50:55 PM not great play in this final. They were saying the other day that Robertson often gets out of position but he's that good a potter that he covers himself but he isn't potting too well so far
Title: Re: World Championships Snooker Post by: mondatoo on May 03, 2010, 10:54:20 PM Nerves are definitely kicking in,his last couple of safety shots where ridic bad.Confident he'll win it but we'll see.Pretty sure it's going to be a very very late finish.I set the line at 01:13 :)
