Blackbelt supremo Neil Channing has a fulsome C.V. with accomplishments aplenty, including a near-bracelet miss from this summer’s WSOP. He is looking confident and clearly fancies his chances against the field. “Looking round the room, there’s a few players here who would struggle in a £30 rebuy, let alone a WPT!” was his scathing assessment, although he did qualify his criticism. “Not at my table, sadly.” Title: Re: WPT London Classic thread Post by: TightEnd on September 01, 2010, 10:20:43 AM http://www.partypoker.com/blog/wpt-london/wpt-london-live-updates.html

This was among a bunch of sharply focused photos I took this afternoon, & I think that's Giovanni to the immediate right of Jake. Moments later, he (Giovanni) played Aces most creatively - he was the Button & the THIRD caller to a Raise to 40k (Blinds 5k-10k) - & got nicely paid off, when the flop came 6 high & a player then jammed with 7-7. Later, Bruce Atkinson, then playing about 170k, found a very odd spot, when THREE players limped & he shoved on the Button. He got no action, & showed 8-8. What a long-range Double for Tighty's "Golden Age" lads it would be if Jake could ship this. Cody’s had a bad start following the break. He raises it up to 85k and Safina now makes it 225k. Cody can’t call it and throws his hand away, slipping to 4th in the chip counts in the process… /sigh come on jake! Title: Re: WPT London Classic thread Post by: JungleCat03 on September 05, 2010, 03:14:10 AM Watched and saw the hole cards for every hand of the final and have to say Jake impressed me immensely.
Showed how to win a poker tournament without many hands. To be fair Kristoffer Thorsson was his match in many respects and that should have been the heads up game. There was one amazing hand where Jake took on Thorsson - four-betting him light before Thorsson five-bet shoved with very little when they were both deep stacked. It was one of the best hands I've seen on a big final table, despite it not going to showdown. But Jake really gave a masterclass of poker and he seems like such a level headed guy. I expect him to be a world star, in fact in many respects he already is. Triple crown next? Truly sick...wp Jake Cody. Title: Re: WPT London Classic thread Post by: JK on September 05, 2010, 04:33:46 AM Shows how big an era this is for British poker. Jake definately at the forefront flying the flag high.
