Title: Huge Price Post by: pleno1 on September 22, 2010, 12:14:53 PM Newcastle are 10.5 to win tonight at Chelsea. Both teams will be putting out second string teams.
Newcastle will have, Krul, Campbell, Guttierez, Danny Guthrie, Smith, Nile Ranger. Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that squad players Ross Turnbull, Jeffrey Bruma, Gael Kakuta, Daniel Sturridge and former SJP loan defender Patrick van Aanholt will all start. Other youngsters expected to be involved are Josh McEachran, Fabio Borini and Jacob Mellis. Basically we have lots of winners who will be playing tonight, lots of experience players, lots of strong players who are hard to break down. Ross Turnball is absolute garbage. Kakuta, Strurridge are both really really good but the rest of them I havn't heard much from. Def shouldn't be 10.5 anyway. Special mention to Nathaniel Chalobah who is on the bench today at 15 years old,80 days short of his 16th birthday, youngest player ever to be involved in our first team.He was playing in a training match for Boswinga today but got pulled off after 10 minutes and told he was in the squad after Borini had to withdraw. Title: Re: Huge Price Post by: gatso on September 22, 2010, 07:59:17 PM there's a reason chelsea went nearly 100 games unbeaten at home. it's because it's ridic difficult to beat them at home. yeah, there's always the chance they may lose one but 10.5 is not even close to a good price for newcastle, just as 22.0 or whatever it was for blackpool wasn't even close

Title: Re: Huge Price Post by: Murph1984 on September 22, 2010, 10:02:07 PM Newcastle were full value for the win,we were awful until we went down to 10.
I did think that Ryan Taylor was lucky not to go just before half-time but that's irrelevant really. We really lacked composure and had nobody getting their foot on the ball and controlling the game,it was all just a bit hurried. I hate criticising players but Ross Turnbull should never again wear a Chelsea shirt. It is obvious there is no confidence in him at the club otherwise we wouldn't have been chasing down a deal for Begovic late in August. His positioning for the first goal was terrible(albeit it was a poor goal defensively overall),I don't think he got the positioning of the wall right for the second and he then chose to position himself behind it to compound the error, and a goalkeeper should just never be beaten like he was for the third. The only shining light was Josh McEachran, what a performance,he showed more bravery than anyone out there, constantly wanted the ball and did something with it the majority of the time.He really is our equivalent of Jack Wilshere(except he's a nice lad and not a knob). What a future he has ahead of him. No complaints with the 4th goal, great delivery and a great header from Ameobi. We suffered a slump after going out of this competition on penalties to Blackburn last season after fielding a weakend side, with big games against City,Marseille and Arsenal coming up in the next 10 days I hope history doesn't repeat itself. tl;dr I know cliffs : well done Newcastle (and Hughton obv) gtfo Turnbull Josh McEachran ladies and gentlemen Title: Re: Huge Price Post by: geordieneil on September 22, 2010, 10:20:27 PM cliffs : well done Newcastle (and Hughton obv) gtfo Turnbull Josh McEachran ladies and gentlemen was very impressed by this young chap (he looks about 12) very bright future, look forward to seeing how he develops........i'm assuming he's english??? Title: Re: Huge Price Post by: pleno1 on September 23, 2010, 09:19:27 AM Chelsea actually had some really good players playing that would get in 15+ teams in the premiership. Terry, Alex,Ferraira (sp) Zhirkov, Benayoun, Kalou, Sturridge and Anelka.
Really happy with our team at the moment have a winning mentality that is so so important. Hans Vuckic is very very good, Man United have been chasing him, but if we hold onto him then could be a very important player in next couple of years. Shout out to Van Aaholt (sp) looked very good last night and if we didn't have Enrique (that is in top 3/4 best lb's in the premiership) then I guess Houghton would be begging Ancelotti to have him for another year. oh and.... Ross Turnball is absolute garbage never understood why clubs bring in these "third choice goalkeepers". Newcasstle have Harper as our first choice goalkeeper and then behind him we have Krul then Forster and Soderberg. Krul will be number one sooner rather than later and would much prefer seeing him in goal than some bottom half clubs second keeper. Not sure on odds for Sunday but def think we have what it takes to beat Stoke and I will probably be betting on us winning to nil, as we have alot of bigger players who are good in the air who should be able to deal with Stokes throw-ins and corners. Their penalty - Williamson 100% got the ball, what's he supposed to do? Just let him shoot? Was infact a great challenge. Ben Afra's leg is broke in two, a double break. The referee didn't even give a freekick? Shola brought down in the box, wtf? I know it shouldn't work like that but I would of thought the ref would of given us anything after his disaster of a first half never mind a blatant pen. |
