Title: Steak Pie Vol II - Another 5 comps - SOLD OUT
Post by: EvilPie on October 06, 2010, 06:13:26 PM
I'm looking to sell half of my action in the following 5 comps all mostly being played at DTD over the next couple of 5 weeks.

The reason for asking for staking is that I did my knackers last week at the casino so I don't want to spend any more on gambling if I bust the lot I want £600 left over to pay for alcohol to make me feel better.

The comps I'll be playing are:

Saturday 9th October - DTD £224 1 day 15k guaranteed

Saturday 16th October - DTD £336 2 day 40k guaranteed

Saturday 23rd October - APAT Pro league £250 GUKPT seat added for winner

Saturday 30th October - DTD £58 grands prix 2 day 40k guaranteed

Saturday 6th November - DTD £336 2 day 100k guaranteed

Total package comes to just over £1200. Selling at just under 1:1 to keep numbers simple so 5% for £60 or 10% for £120

I'll be playing them all no matter what but ideally I'll sell about 50% if there's interest.

As per my previous staking thing I may or may not be pissed while playing. To be fair the one we got a return on last time was the one where I was the most smashed.

I won't split any of this up. Selling as the full package only. Payout is based on total cashes and your % will carry through if I somehow bink another GUKPT seat. Please note that should I bink the APAT league which carries a 20k package that is NOT included.

Money must be received by 3pm Saturday unless you're someone I know well because that's when the first comp starts.

As before. Don't bother flaming or criticizing in any way because I don't care. Don't ask for any further details because I can't be bothered.

Don't ask for my hendon mob cus it's crap anyway (although slightly better than before). Don't ask for OPR for similar reasons.

In return for your investment I promise a full report for each tournament along the lines of  :) or :(

Pretty much take it or leave it again to be honest.

Love you all.

Matt

xx

PS: I'll reserve 10% for a banned blonde who's had a few slices before. You know who you are. Text me if you want a piece.

PPS: I'd prefer money in cash or bank transfer if possible. If I get it on stars or tilt I might as well just burn it cus I'll just spew it.

Ok so the £336 on the 16th is cancelled.

There's 3 options with this as I see it.

1 - I play a few extra comps which amount to £336. First one would be tonight's £67, 2nd would be the £112 on Sunday. If this happens I'll obviously keep you informed on here of exactly what I'm playing.

2 - Forget the £336 and I return the appropriate amount of each stakees money.

3 - Carry it through to whenever the next £336 deepstack is that I can make. (Probably early december)

4 - Cancel the whole thing and I return all the money.

5 - Any other ideas you may have.

Each individual can make their own choice on what they would like to do. It'll be a bit of admin on my part but that's not a problem.

Ideally for me we go with option 1. It gives us a few more comps, spreads the risk and let's me do more comprehensive reports.

Let me know on here what you'd like to do.

Fuck spreading the risk.  Personally, I'd rather you did it in the next £336 mate because I want a share of when you bink £30k, not coming 1st in the nightly comp for £914.88p. I don't care about getting £150 etc back of my £120 investment. I want BINK or nothing.

Or just take the £336 and spend every penny in that tittybar in Derby and provide a report with pictures.

Happy with whatever you choose though because I love your shiny head

That makes sense.

Tell you what, there's a £330 in Blackpool during the GUKPT. I could try to play that. I say try because I might go out and get smashed instead.

If you really want a bink I'll just play the WU/Million on stars on one Sunday.

Also don't mind if Keys wants 5 of my 10 because I love him too.

Bit tricky mate. Sunny asked before Keys so wouldn't be fair on him.

If you want to let Keys have half that's up to you to sort with him directly.

Appreciate it though. To be honest the more people in this the better. More people to send rubz to when I lose.

Don't know if I'm gonna play the £200 now.

Just played the comp tonight and was down 10k from the chip race at the break.

Cameras get checked etc. Big delays.

TD tells me that they see me count my chips and tell dealer it's 81k but it's not conclusive. If they give me my 10k there's too many chips in play so in order to be fair they can't give me them back!!!!

WTF!!!!!!!

You know when you 100% know exactly how many chips you had and then get told you can't have them!!!!!

Total fucking bullshit!!!!! I wish I'd not counted the fuckers. At least then there'd be doubt so I wouldn't mind.

Might feel better about it in the morning after a long walk to chill out but atm I can't face the place.

If I don't play tomorrow I'll cancel the whole thing and ship all the money straight back. If I'm still feeling like I am now there's no point playing.

Will let you all know.

Seriously tho matt- if there's a discrepency there's nothing the cardroom can do. It's happened to me before in a couple of places.

nonsense, of course they can otherwise they might as well just give out random amounts when colouring up and it`d be pointless anyone counting their stacks when they went on a break

I`ve had the exact same thing happen to me at dtd in the early days, luckily I could tell them the exact amount of my stack as I always tap it into my phone when going on break and other players said they were sure I had more so I got given the chips

what I`d like to see them do is get one player to buy up all the small chips like at so many other venues. then 8 of the 9 stacks at the table don`t even need to be touched, they just leave their odds at the front for the race, and the player who`s bought up all the chips knows exactly how much he`s got in small chips. after colouring up the new chips are left seperate in front of his stack so can be checked in like 2 seconds.

much less chance for mistakes that way than having every stack in the tourney messed with at once

Ok so next time I'll tap in my phone that I have 20k extra and kick up a fuss so they give me extra chips?

Yeah but u see my point? Happens in tournaments all over the world I imagine. I mean not every table has a camera on it. If your chip stack doesn't check out it's just tough.

They checked the cameras but apparently they "weren't conclusive"

2 of us actually lost chips. 10k each, the 2 big stacks on the table.

TD did a full chip count and said there were the right amount of chips at the table so tough shit.

It actually made it worse when he said "we could see you counting your stack and telling the dealer how much you had"

Meh whatever. Sean, one of the dealers there had been sat next to me all night. He was the other one who lost chips. He ko'd me AA vs AK on the bubble and went on to chop it HU which is consolation enough for me cus he's a top bloke.

Not got a clue mate to be honest. Everybody's stacks looked about right to me. I had a good idea of stack sizes because we were 5 handed one off the bubble and I was cautious of reshoves.

Didn't look like they'd given our chips to someone else on our table and I can't see how it's possible to give them to the other table.

I had 14k in 100's so there was a lot of chipping up to do on my stack. When I got back I'd been chipped up with 40k in purples so they'd taken a lot of my greens as well. I guess there was just a counting error somewhere.

Obviously it shouldn't happen but it does. I've watched them do it before and it doesn't always inspire confidence when they're taking off one stack and putting back on another.

I've pretty much managed to convince myself that I counted my stack 3 times and just counted wrong every time.

I think I might start taking a pic of my stack before chip races. Presumably then they'll just say "that could be a stack from a different comp, there's nothing we can do about it".

Would I be within my rights to demand to stay in the tournament area whilst the race was being done to oversee my stack?

Like Gatso says, what's the point counting your stack if they can do what they want to it?

I wasn't suggesting that the fact I'd recorded the amount was the reason they gave me the chips back, it just meant I could tell them the exact amount that was missing. I can't actually remember what happened, think they may have gone away and counted the colouring up chips and found they had too many by the exact amount I was short

Guys.

Probably playing the £112, 8k guaranteed tomorrow.

Same turbo structure as today's comp. Not quite such good value as no sats or added seats from other comps. Still good value though.

If you want this included and deducted from the £336 we've got from next week's cancelled comp let me know.

Majority wins. Anyone not voting doesn't get a say. Anybody who's banned hasn't paid yet so doesn't get a say anyway.

If you don't want it make sure you say no because just 1 yes will take it.

Whatever happens it's either everybody in or everybody out.

Pie's decision is final. Anybody not happy about the decision can have their profit and remaining stake money returned and gtfo.

If I decide not to play tough s**t.

To my lovely staking team.

I'm considering playing at Luton on Saturday to make up the other £224 that we need.

It's a £220 comp so if I play I'll get to grim you all for a % of 4 quid which is a bonus.

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=50051.0

Should be quite a nice comp with not too many runners and the added value of a champion of champions seat.

Only downside is it's in Luton so my expenses will be considerably more than if I'd played the planned comp at DTD. Travel + 2 days kennels for Ronnie = about £80 to £100.

As I'm only in for 45% it makes it a £90 comp for me and I can't justify £100 expenses for that.

The option is to take £100 out of our profit so far to cover my costs. That is OUR profit, not YOUR profit so would be your % of £100.

If everyone's happy with this I'll probably do it. If anyone isn't happy please let me know and I'll buy up your share for this particular comp.

Don't feel bad about saying no to this either. By asking for expenses I'm effectively selling this comp at about 1.6 which we all know is way above expectation for a player of my limited abilities. That is why I'm more than happy to buy up your shares and there will be no hard feelings whatsoever.

I need to know off everyone what they want to do on this one please as it is a bit out of the ordinary.

Cheers

Matt

Just a little extra note.

If this goes ahead as part of the stake anyone who doesn't want in will have their % of £224 returned.

Cheers.

200 fish to get through though.

No workings out mate. Just the first numbers that came to me :)

Actually that's not true. If I play luton I'm making the stakers pay for Ronnie's 5 star kennel fees as well as the ridiculous amount of fuel that my gas guzzler consumes.

That means I'm effectively selling at about 1.6

DTD comp will not have 300 runners.

Probably 200 I'd guess meaning you're playing £50 for a £75 comp which is roughly 0.7

Sorry to disappoint, but Matt has no chance at Luton. The standard of play there is much higher than at DTD. Avi & Evil Edna (combined age 160) will own him.

Edna owned him in a Cash-Game there previously. Think it went £3 £3, £3, then Matt made it £810, Edna snap-called.

I squeezed to 5k on Sunday (my Button) to punish the limpers, & Edna in the SB re-squeezed me. She only had 5,700 total, so I decided to gamble for the extra 700 into 14,000. She had 5-2.

Nope. It means we're only paying 0.66666666666667 for the comp so I'd effectively be selling at 0.66666666666667

In the Luton comp I'm charging more than spot by selling at approx 1.6 to cover the expensive kennels I put my spoilt dog in.

If you want to look at it in terms of payouts then yes I'm getting 1.5 on any payouts.

Depends how you look at it i suppose.

Not heard from MC but I'll assume he's in because he seems more of a follower than a leader.

Heading off to the luxury kennels first thing then on to Luton where it is my sole intention to win the lot.

Ronnie would like to thank you all for contributing to his weekend at a kennel once described in a magazine article as "a place so good you're tempted to send your pooch off to Portugal while you stay there yourself".

There sure is a day 2 :D

To Paul Ho. I decided to let Ronnie have the super deluxe package for a change while I was in Luton. I assume this was what you wanted to know?

Just registered for the APAT pro at Luton next weekend. I expect to do quite well in this because I'll be absolutely steaming.

Meeting Eck and the Mole at about 7 on the Friday and getting on it. Hopkin joining us as well when he can get there so carnage should ensue. All obviously beneficial in my preparation for this tournament.

So 3 comps gone and 3 to go. Total returns so far £1710 minus Ronnie's super deluxe kennel.

Comps remaining:

23/10 - APAT pro at Luton £250
30/10 - DTD Grand prix - £58 (£40k guarantee)
6/11 - DTD deepstack - £336 (£100k guarantee)

Would be nice to get another cheeky little score somewhere. Roll on next Saturday.

Well done at Luton yesterday, Matt.

I can honestly say, I've never so owned a player at a Table as I did you, yesterday.

I love you.

PS - That MIGHT have been my lifetime first 5-bet. I'm so proud.

Are you going to put me out of my misery and tell me what you had?

I thought I was turning my hand in to a bluff when I made the 4 bet but I wasn't deep enough to flat and see a flop.

If you had air I'm truly impressed. WP that man.

If you stop & go me, instead of 4-betting pre, it's 90% certain to be your Pot, you know how weak I am!

I KNEW you'd make a move on me, & had steeled myself to re-shove, come what may, if you did.

PS - Bit of a sick exit you had, which was a shame, (why does 5-2 fail to hold so often?) as it was a fun Tourney, & your presence helped in that respect. Plus, I get to own you for a bit longer.

Comp 4 report: :)

Didn't win anything but I had fun with Hopkin, Eck and the Mole on Friday night so I can't find it in me to post an unhappy smiley.

Also managed to find a strip club in Luton which was a very pleasant surprise.

Only 2 more to go. Grand prix and £100k deepstack.

Will be trying to bink gents. GL us.

Comp 5 is tomorrow at 1pm.

Got a fantastic seat draw so I'm very optimistic about it already.

Table 13 is basically one of the closest there is to the bar. I feel like we've already won.

No joy in the grand prix but I did manage to get ridiculously drunk which was nice.

Last comp is the £336, £100k guaranteed next Saturday which I will be putting in maximum effort and probably staying sober.

Well steak pie vol II is all over. Thought we had a chance of a bink today in the deepstack but alas it ended with a £1215 cash for 18th. I folded a hand with about 1bb in my stack after losing a big pot because there was a guy all in on another table. That was good for a £465 ladder which was nice. I don't think I've grinded a comp as much in my life. I didn't get above average at any stage after level 2. Really hard work but thorougly enjoyable.

So according to my calculations we've got the following to distribute amongst the team.

£1710 (DTD £224) + £1215 (DTD deepstack) - £70 (Ronnie's luxury 5 star kennel)

Total winnings = £2855

Shares will be paid out as follows:

Me - 45% = £1284.75

Greekstein - 5% - £142.75 - Sent via bank tx.

Outragous76 - 5% - £142.75

Sovietsong - 5% - £142.75 - Sent via bank tx

Amatay - 5% - £142.75 - Sent via bank tx

MC - 5% - £142.75 - Sent via bank tx

RedSimon - 5% - £142.75 - Sent via bank tx

PaulHo - 5% - £142.75 - Sent via bank tx

Rooks - 10% - £285.50 - £120 (Cus he hasn't paid) = £165.50 - Sent via bank tx.

OMG James "Mfckin" Keys!!!!!! - 5% - £142.75 - Sent via bank tx

OMFG Grrrrrpreet "Sunny" Nagi - 5% - £142.75

Would've been nice to get a bit more but at least we cleared a little profit.
