Seriously tho matt- if there's a discrepency there's nothing the cardroom can do. It's happened to me before in a couple of places.

nonsense, of course they can otherwise they might as well just give out random amounts when colouring up and it`d be pointless anyone counting their stacks when they went on a break

I`ve had the exact same thing happen to me at dtd in the early days, luckily I could tell them the exact amount of my stack as I always tap it into my phone when going on break and other players said they were sure I had more so I got given the chips

what I`d like to see them do is get one player to buy up all the small chips like at so many other venues. then 8 of the 9 stacks at the table don`t even need to be touched, they just leave their odds at the front for the race, and the player who`s bought up all the chips knows exactly how much he`s got in small chips. after colouring up the new chips are left seperate in front of his stack so can be checked in like 2 seconds.

much less chance for mistakes that way than having every stack in the tourney messed with at once

Ok so next time I'll tap in my phone that I have 20k extra and kick up a fuss so they give me extra chips?

Yeah but u see my point? Happens in tournaments all over the world I imagine. I mean not every table has a camera on it. If your chip stack doesn't check out it's just tough.

They checked the cameras but apparently they "weren't conclusive"

2 of us actually lost chips. 10k each, the 2 big stacks on the table.

TD did a full chip count and said there were the right amount of chips at the table so tough shit.

It actually made it worse when he said "we could see you counting your stack and telling the dealer how much you had"

Meh whatever. Sean, one of the dealers there had been sat next to me all night. He was the other one who lost chips. He ko'd me AA vs AK on the bubble and went on to chop it HU which is consolation enough for me cus he's a top bloke.

Not got a clue mate to be honest. Everybody's stacks looked about right to me. I had a good idea of stack sizes because we were 5 handed one off the bubble and I was cautious of reshoves.

Didn't look like they'd given our chips to someone else on our table and I can't see how it's possible to give them to the other table.

I had 14k in 100's so there was a lot of chipping up to do on my stack. When I got back I'd been chipped up with 40k in purples so they'd taken a lot of my greens as well. I guess there was just a counting error somewhere.

Obviously it shouldn't happen but it does. I've watched them do it before and it doesn't always inspire confidence when they're taking off one stack and putting back on another.

I've pretty much managed to convince myself that I counted my stack 3 times and just counted wrong every time.

I think I might start taking a pic of my stack before chip races. Presumably then they'll just say "that could be a stack from a different comp, there's nothing we can do about it".

Would I be within my rights to demand to stay in the tournament area whilst the race was being done to oversee my stack?

Like Gatso says, what's the point counting your stack if they can do what they want to it?

In UKIPT tourneys you're allowed to stay while they chip up

I wasn't suggesting that the fact I'd recorded the amount was the reason they gave me the chips back, it just meant I could tell them the exact amount that was missing. I can't actually remember what happened, think they may have gone away and counted the colouring up chips and found they had too many by the exact amount I was short

Tournament report:

Meh.

£1710 shipped. No tips. Dealers didn't do me any favours so f**k 'em Cheesy

Nice to have a profit locked after comp one. Need some run good on final if I get another one.

Onwards and upwards.
