And we are BOTH cooking the dinner. LMAO James - and so you shouldnt!! Glad to see Jane putting her foot down Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: tikay on December 25, 2005, 12:01:34 PM Can you ask Charmaine how long I should cook my turkey for? I put it in the oven, wrapped in tinfoil, an hour ago. 2 hours? 3 hours? I've had a NIGHTMARE with it already. It stunk shocking after it had been cooking 20 minutes, so I read the label & it said I had to remove a giblet bag "from the neck opening". (Did not look like a "neck opening" to me, I guess thats where the expression "get it in the neck" came from). So I took this sort of half melted plstuic bag out, it had a quite dreadful looking think inside it, if that belonged to the turkey, I must say, he was very well endowed, made me jealous actually. So, how long before it's done? It's "Medium" (except it's giblet, which was hugely impressive) & came from Tescos. Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: Heid on December 25, 2005, 12:05:54 PM Keep sticking a knife in the deepest part of the meat hun .... when th juices run clear.. it's done :)
About 20 mins per pound... Alternatively, when the cats sit next to the oven...it's done:) Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: tikay on December 25, 2005, 12:30:50 PM 20 minutes per pound? Well it cost £13, so I guess that's just over 4 hours. Scandalous, you oughta be able to cook things quicker than that.

Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: Trace on December 26, 2005, 01:03:49 PM I was up at 7, making loads of noise, by 7:45 I gave up and went back to bed, even the dog went into the bedroom and sat on one of them, they still didn't wake up. Noise eventually came from their room at 9:15am.
30 mins later it was all over and done with for me, they had more to open when their Dad came for them at 1pm. So long as they had a good day I guess that's all that matters. So did anybody get anything they weren't expecting? Maybe we should start a Blonde swapshop for the stuff we don't want. lol T xx Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: RED-DOG on December 26, 2005, 01:18:07 PM My girls got me an ity bity mp3 player, it holds 500 songs and you can download from any sorce, just plug it into the earphone socket of any audio device, and it converts it into an mp3

Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: thetank on December 26, 2005, 01:24:41 PM its the size of a cigarette lighter Mind and no lose it then. Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: ifm on December 26, 2005, 01:28:22 PM My Ipod appears to have died on me, i have all the kit for it too!!
Gonna have to get another i think, BOOOOOOO! Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: tikay on December 26, 2005, 01:53:27 PM Yup, mine died too ifm. I miss it a lot, suppose I'd better get another, but then there is the hassle of downloading stuff, aarrrggghh. Thewy did it for me last time. Talking of Thewy, he gave me a lovely book - "Untold Stories" by Alan Bennett, big thick job. (The book, not Bennett). He's very good at knowing what I like to read, last year he gave me Bill Brysons "A short history of nearly everything", probably the most awesome book I've ever read, full of amazing facts about life & our Planet. Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: Colchester Kev on December 26, 2005, 01:59:41 PM My boys got me a signed copy of Bobby Robsons autobiography "Farewell but not goodbye" .... well happy with that, the man is a legend.
Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: thetank on December 26, 2005, 02:02:25 PM You'll have to learn to read now but I'm sure it'll be woth it.
Title: Re: Christmas Morning Post by: tikay on December 26, 2005, 02:05:18 PM Jen & I stayed in Newcastle during the P4C Fessie, at a decent Hotel in the middle of town. On the Sunday dinnertime, in the Hotel lobby, (The Mags were home to Man U that day), and right there, sat on the next table to us was Bobby Robson, looked VERY smart, surrounded by his family & lots of hangers on. I says to Jen - "wow, look, Sir Boby Robson". "Who?" she says.......... Girlies, First Class Degree in Ancient something & never heard of Sir Bobby Robson!
