November blonde League searches for a Team of Titans to do battle for blonde on the baize in Bolton


The aim:

Select 8 players to represent blonde Poker at the APAT UK Team Championships in Bolton in January 2011

The event:

APAT UK Team Championship G Casino Bolton 29th-30th January 2011

Details being finalised, but working on 25 8 player teams, paying £75 per person, registration free. 50% of the Prize pool to Individual cashers, 50% to the top finishing teams

Structure: APAT National Structure, 10k chips, 45 min clock, 2 day.

To be confirmed GUKPT seat added for the individual winner

the APAT Champion of Champions event is being held the night before

This event is always great fun, with a variety of poker communities participating. blonde Poker has entered a team in the previous UK Team Championships, and failed to trouble the higher reaches of the table.

I am assuming blonde Poker will be invited to enter a team this year.

The League:

Play MTT competitions on DTD Online through the month of November. Points are awarded for your finishing positions, and the top eight players at the end of the month will be chosen to represent blonde Poker at Bolton. The winner of the League will be captain

  - Which events are eligible?

   Any network MTT beginning between 6.30pm and midnight nightly.
   MTTs must have a minimum of 50 runners
   Any buy-in eligible

  - League Scoring

    Win an MTT - 25 Points
    Final an MTT - 15 Points
    Finish 11th-15th - 10 Points
    Finish 16th-20th - 8 points
    Finish 20th-30th - 6 points
    Finish 31st-40th - 4 points
    Finish 41st-50th - 2 points

    Score points in an MTT with over 150 runners, add 50% to your score

    Top 5 scores ONLY through the month count.

    Bonus nights every Monday and Wedndesay. Be the highest finishing player in the league on those nights and score an extra 10 points per bonus night

     Record your own scores on this thread, and I will update a league table daily. You must post which event/s you are playing before they start. No after-timing!

    We'll take the top 8 to Bolton. If any of the top 8 can't make it or choose to represent another team, captain gets to pick replacements.

Damn, I was going to take a break from poker this month as well.
Will get cracking on this next week then as I am hoping to have to travel to Bolton anyway (although I think Technolog has plans to scrape that idea *lol*)

I would strongly recommend that anybody who can get there tries to qualify for this. The event last season introduced me to APAT properly and since then I have met some great people and had some great weekends since.

Now lets get a great team and TID Blonde Poker (not like we can run much worse)

These seats will be like gold dust for people playing the league as the live event is so much fun.  Could be wrong, but I think last year if someone couldn't make it - the seat went to next reserve on the list of league players.

What's the issue with 'aftertiming'? I can't see there's any advantage to be gained by not saying what you're going to play before you play it, is there? I mean, there isn't a limited number of tournaments that you can play to qualify, as far as I can see. If someone was playing a lot it would be a right pain in the arse to have to say on here everything they were regging for. More important to make sure people post any qualifying scores asap..?

Probably won't affect me to be honest, but I might try and play a few. Quite fancy a January break in Bolton...

The Deepstack is back at 7.30 but now it's €10+1 rather than €20+2 and it has a €1,500 guarantee. Would be a good one for everyone to lump-on perhaps?

If we want a tournament for side action (of course we do) then the 19:30 $1000 Gtd is a good choice. Lots of runners and works for all bankrolls.

Also are any other APAT regulars up for a side bet on the higher total number of points? Maybe for a meal and a couple of pints at an APAT event. Like Spain if any of you are going !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's designed not to disadvantage those who don't want to put in a lot of volume, it would favour those if it was unlimited scores count

so top 5 tourni scores during the month then, doesnt the bonus for being top nightly scorer (mon and weds) favour the heavy volume players? or does the bonus apply to the player with the best scoring tournament on the night?

tighty why does a guy that finishes 4th get the bonus? he scores the same points as anyone who makes a final tablre so surely the bonus should be split? 3 players scored 15.
 what if u were 4th in a 50 runner but someone was 5th in a 400 runner tournie where is the fairness using your point system to award the bonus to the 4th place finisher?

I see where you are coming from, but the rules are clearly stated at the start of this. I dont have any problem with them.
Its worked fine for the Blonde Leagues, so do not see the need to change them now.

Paul its the way these have always been done. Bonus to the highest individual finisher. I accept some nights that will mean 4/150 getting 10 points and 5/150 not.

do feel though that your wording "Be the highest finishing player in the league on those nights and score an extra 10 points per bonus night" needs to be reworded imo to state the highest finisher in a tournament on the night gets the bonus not the highest finisher in the league.

Might be an idea to have a separate thread about representing blonde in the APAT forum challenge that points to here and also links to the APAT thread about it.

A lot of people who might want to play might not usually play the leagues so may miss out on any chance of getting in because they haven't checked this thread and don't know that this is their only means of getting in.

Can I please ask how many of the people playing in this league actually intend to play for Blonde Poker in this event. There are quite a few people in this list who I could understand wanting to play for other teams. I read the Chezger, APAT and Sky forums myself and am aware that a good percentage of the people in this league are also interested in other teams (which is cool - the point of APAT is to attend the event who you play for is not really a big deal we will still all be there). I have just noticed that based on other possiblities Blonde might actually be struggling to provide 8 players based on this.

Is there anybody else on the forum who would be interested in playing this event but for whatever reason have not played in the league? This event was awesome last yea, and is well worth attending.

blonde is my forum and I'd love to represent them, but.

In the unlikely event I was selected to play for the APAT team, I would feel compelled to take up the offer as, I imagine, most APATers would.

Also (you did ask) I played for Duke's ChezGer forum in season 2 and if he asked me to play this time I would (notwithstanding a call from APAT Towers) for reasons of loyalty. Although, as I've taken to abusing the old boy recently (only on-line, never face-to-face, I'm not that stupid!) that call may be a bit unlikely too.

So in my estimation, if I was to qualify via the league, I would think I would be more likely than not to play for blonde.

There will definitely be 8 players wanting to play this event. Blonde could probably get 2 or 3 teams together if there was space.

This league will guarantee your place if you want it. Anyone else who wants in will have to get in some other way.

I'd play, given the chance. And I have played in some league games, I just managed to score null points so far :). I blame the large fields and bad luck in the comps I've played, yes, that's what it must be :).

I would be proud to represent blonde if I manage to qualify. There is very tough competition though, but I will try my best ;)

Good luck to everybody who plays this evening. This league is going to get really competitive. I think you now have to basically be aiming for all of your scores to be at least 15 points and then go for those all important bonus scores. Once you get all of your scores to 15 then you try and get good finishes in larger tournaments, as you get 22.5 for a final table in a tournament for more than 150 players.

The 6pm tournament always counts. I asked that at the start of the league. It was going to be 6:30pm onward but we changed it to include the 6pm I think. Tightys final call obv but I reckon it should count. I was railing and very unlucky not to get the win imo.

Having skimmed the thread - and it's changes - can someone confirm if the following requirements for points are accurate:

1) MTT's must have over 50 runners
2) Any MTT at any time of the day now
3) Any MTT with over 150 players add 50% to your score
4) Bonus added on Monday and Wednesday for highest finisher
