Title: Ancelotti Post by: TightEnd on November 22, 2010, 01:07:26 AM Strongly rumoured earlier tonight to have walked, strongly denied by the club since
Thought to have had no satisfactory explanation over Wilkins, and to be unhappy about both that and over Abramovich interference Two losses on the trot, a minor hiccup, but a squad that is thin on depth compared to others Papers tomorrow have more apparently.... You think? Apart from at centre half they're by far the strongest squad imo. Title: Re: Ancelotti Post by: The Baron on November 22, 2010, 01:49:56 AM Heard a few rumours. He's offered his resignation and it's not been accepted. He's not getting a new assistant. etc etc
I think with every reporter in the world being on Twitter this sort of rumour will be common place now whether true or not. You think? Apart from at centre half they're by far the strongest squad imo. I think Man Utd, Arsenal, Man City and even Spurs have a stronger squad than them. Look at the strikers in reserve, when the main men go down.. Man U.. Hernandez and Owen Arsenal.. Van Persie and Bendtner Man City... Santa Cruz and Adeyabor Spurs... Keane and Pav Chelsea? Ummmm Sturridge and Kalou. Title: Re: Ancelotti Post by: buzzharvey22 on November 22, 2010, 06:08:38 AM we put 3 past them ffs
Title: Re: Ancelotti Post by: Graham C on November 22, 2010, 09:36:08 AM Arsenal.. Van Persie and Bendtner
They're supposed to be our top two but have been injured since forever! Well, maybe not Bendtner Title: Re: Ancelotti Post by: TightEnd on November 22, 2010, 09:43:26 AM Baron
I know Chelsea have injuries, so the bench is bound to be weaker Substitutes * 22 Turnbull, * 17 Bosingwa, * 38 Van Aanholt, * 43 Bruma, * 46 McEachran, * 23 Sturridge, * 44 Kakuta on Saturday is no comparison to * 01 Given, * 38 Boyata, * 07 Milner, * 08 Wright-Phillips, * 11 A Johnson, * 24 Vieira, * 09 Adebayor or * 29 Kuszczak, * 22 O'Shea, * 23 Evans, * 11 Giggs, * 18 Scholes, * 10 Rooney, * 14 Hernandez or * 23 Cudicini, * 19 Bassong, * 22 Corluka, * 05 Bentley, * 12 Palacios, * 15 Crouch, * 18 Defoe or * 53 Szczesny, * 20 Djourou, * 27 Eboue, * 07 Rosicky, * 14 Walcott, * 19 Wilshere, * 10 Van Persie at the weekend Title: Re: Ancelotti Post by: TheChipPrince on November 22, 2010, 09:44:41 AM Your not having that Utd bench Tighty, put up there normal one! ;)
Title: Re: Ancelotti Post by: TightEnd on November 22, 2010, 10:27:12 AM Your not having that Utd bench Tighty, put up there normal one! ;) lol, that was the bench on Saturday, amazingly you get my point anyway. the chelsea first 11+7 is clearly the best around, 4-5 injuries later and I think the depth looks thin and, by the by, the kids don't get anything like the chances at Chelsea to get experience as they do from occasional games at Arsenal and Man U Scott Sinclair would be my recent example of this. Is this not true of all of them ? Take Rooney,Evra,Vidic,Fletcher and Nani out the Man U team and they'd struggle. Title: Re: Ancelotti Post by: TightEnd on November 22, 2010, 01:17:18 PM true of course, I still maintain Chelsea's depth is weaker, but the first team when fit stronger.
Anyway, Ancelotti says all is rosy in the garden and Bruma, Turnbull and McEachran start against Zilnia Title: Re: Ancelotti Post by: The Baron on November 22, 2010, 06:03:14 PM 11+7 is 87% of a standard outfield squad. That's your title right there. The rest is your Carling Cup side.
With Lampard, Terry, Alex, Bosingwa, Essien, Benayoun to return it looks ok to me! Title: Re: Ancelotti Post by: The Baron on November 22, 2010, 06:04:24 PM If we did this at other positions Chelsea would be way stronger though I admit forwards are more important.

Just not sure I agree with this. Terry is half the player he was 3+ years ago and he was never particularly fast. Lampard and Essien don't seem to be what they were. Theyn don't have much depth and the stars with the possible exception of Drogba and Cole all seem in decline to me. Level surely.I think Terry's importance has been showing by how poor they've been at the back without him yet they looked unbeatable at the start of the season. I'm talking about the quality of players between squad number 11 and 20 odd. A bench containing some of: Ivanovic Bosingwa Mikel Benayoun Anelka Kalou Ramires (big fee but looks pants) Hilario Zhirkov Is stronger than the vast majority of benches - except maybe City. I think he will be amazing in a year or so. Got to get used to the strentgh of prem players. |
