Title: Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker Post by: TightEnd on January 01, 2011, 12:03:44 AM Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker
As we announced in December the 2010 sponsorship of blonde Poker by DTD ended on 31st December and I am pleased to post that Sky Poker have agreed to sponsor blonde Poker, initially for the first part of 2011 but hopefully for longer. blonde already has links to Sky Poker through tikay of course, primarily, but also myself and of course via a number of blonde players who already play there. Thank you very much to Sky Poker for their support and I hope blonde members support this sponsorship which, if successful, will help blonde prosper. If you are not a member of Sky Poker please sign up via the banners which will shortly be on the site. If you are already signed up, and play more because of this sponsorship, then please let us know as that will reflect well on our site. Over the next few days we will be posting further details: - On a new Sky Poker thread , details of Sky Poker's very competitive offering to poker players, from Welcome bonuses, loyalty schemes, leagues and promotions including Viva Las Vegas. - On another thread details of "The Sky's the limit" the inaugural league for blonde players on Sky Poker to run through January with added value provided by Sky to league and event winners. tikay and I will happily take questions and feedback on this thread In the meantime, please get signing up. We'd really appreciate it! Title: Re: Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker Post by: vegaslover on January 01, 2011, 12:09:16 AM Where are the banners?
I don't have a skypoker account so will happily sign up. Hopefully the success of the sponsorship wont be based on the monthly leagues as I, and i'm sure plenty others, don't find them viable due to work patterns Title: Re: Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker Post by: TightEnd on January 01, 2011, 12:12:51 AM Where are the banners? Was promised them at midnight, perhaps they will pop up when the server catches up! thanks in advance for signing up All we hope for is that people who sign up give us some of their online play, or if you are already a Sky player you let us know you if you play a bit more because of the partnership with blonde.. Doesn't matter if the leagues don't suit you, though of course we hope they will appeal to many. Title: Re: Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker Post by: RED-DOG on January 01, 2011, 12:20:11 AM Congratulations to all concerned! ;cheerleader;
Tony, can I have your spare hat? Title: Re: Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker Post by: Waz1892 on January 01, 2011, 12:30:40 AM congrats on new sponsor. Fairly new to Blonde, but visiting daily now really, and will defo re-launch my Sky Poker Account as part of my found friends on Blonde / Sky!
I remember playing one of the very early TV games, and was thrilled to be on TV during a hand, watching it unfold with Tikays comments was a superb thrill (Even though he pronounced my online name wrong!) I won the hand with a nice comment too from the legend that is Tikay. I even e-mailed into the show to say how much i enjoyed the tournament and the comments, and how to correctly pronounce my nickname...which was read out........only for Tikay to tell me off for spelling it the way I do! LOL quality, and I look forward to coming back. Happy new year to you all. Warren Title: Re: Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker Post by: pleno1 on January 01, 2011, 12:34:36 AM Like watching the cash games that they have on, and very likely to deposit and play due to the links with blonde. Is there any chance we can get some blondes on the show for some PHA as the guys are really really tilty. Just another comment, I love watching shows when LJAMESL, LOLUFOLD are in the studio as the commenting is 100000x better. You can keep lisa-marie though :)

Title: Re: Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker Post by: HOLDorFOLD on January 01, 2011, 01:07:05 AM Good news, looking forward to the Jan league.
On a technical note if views are encouraged, the two things I would like to see on Sky Poker are Resizeable Tables and the facility to have more than one tourny lobby open at a time, apart from that loving this sponsorship ;D Title: Re: Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker Post by: Geo the Sarge on January 01, 2011, 01:09:15 AM Well done all at blonde/skypoker, this actually has the potential to be huge. Not currently. A few reasons for this Sky have their own forum, on which updates of their tour events (by me) and GUKPTs (tikay and team) for their Team players take place. This is also a "trial" sponsorship. I hope it will be successful and see reasons why it will be. If it is then it can broaden to other areas. Live updates are a big priority for me to sort. Would be a big miss off the site and it appears, from the lack of contact, that DTD don't wish them to continue on blonde. So, in the absence of any money to do them elsewhere I am going to have to volunteer to do a few, get benefactors to rally round to fund a few and speak to some other venues to keep them going. This can then be increased if we are earning a few bob. Title: Re: Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker Post by: TightEnd on January 01, 2011, 10:07:40 AM will blonde be getting any mentions/airtime/exposure on the 865 channel at all? Best of luck with this Geo Geo, In addition to the answer Tighty has already given you as to Live Updates, it may - MAY - be possible to have a Live Update from the Manchester GUKPT, though that wil be subject to a lot of "permissions". I say that because Sky Poker have something called "Team Sky Poker" (TSP), a sort of "sponsorship", & all 5 of the existing TSP Members (3 more will join next Sunday) will be playing the Manchester GUKPT at the end of January. The 3 new players MAY also be playing it, so Sky Poker will have between 5 & 8 players there playing the £1,070 Main Event. So a Live Update is not wholly out of the question..... You'll need to decode some of it, of course, sort of televisual reading between the lines. My next Show is Sunday (tomorrow) evening, from 9pm until 1am, when we cover the £50 Sunday Night Primo (usually about £4,000 up top), & also follow the Viva Las Vegas Semi-Final, which is a £120 jobbie leading to the £1,100 VLV Monthly Final on January 30th. I shall mention you.......have you ever done anything in your life that was noteworthy? This could be fun. It has a full schedule of Tourneys from £2 up, a lot of Deepstacks etc, and 4 or 5 Freerolls every day, but as to the bigger stuff...... Monthly Sky Sports Double Stack. £220, last Thursday of the month, capped at 50 runners, televised from start to finish. Won this week by AndrewT, who cashed for £3,000 I think, to add to a £2,400 cash he binked in the £50 PRIMO (£15,000 Guaranteed) a fortnight earlier, so he's cashed for the fat end of £6k this month. I believe he Satellited into the £220 for a tenner, too. I believe this Tourney may soon become weekly, or a £110 version capped at 100 runners. Weekly Primo £15,000 Guaranteed, every Sunday at 8pm, Televised, (tomorrow, it's Rich Orford & myself in the Studio) with plenty of easy Satellite opportunities. Pays about 40 players, with £4k-ish up top. We take phone calls live on air from those running deep in it. Weekly Sky Sports Bounty Hunter. £15k Guaranteed, every Thursday at 8pm, Televised, usually simulcast on one of the Sky Sports Channels, so a big audience. Note this is a "Bounty Hunter", so it plays oiut a little different to a normal NLHE jobbie. Nightly Main Event. Always 8pm. Monday & Tuesday are £20 I think (one "standard", one BH), Wednesday is a Double-Stack (4k chips), still £20, Saturday is a standard £20 NLHE. Friday is a £20 Rebuy, Thursday & Sunday, as above. They generally get 500 runners or so, give or take a few hundred depending on whether Football is on Telly, etc. TSP Classic Every weeknight at 10pm, £11, gets about 220 runners on average, pays about £600 to the winner. One of the TSP Members play each night. Lovely structure. Take-on-tikay, aka "TOTTY" These run on Monday (£2.20), Tuesday (£11), Wednesday (£5.50, & Friday (£5.50 Rebuy). They all start at 8.30pm & have 2,500 starting chips. Number of runners varies from £150 ish in the £2.20, to around 60 in the £11 version. I designed the structure, & it plays very nicely indeed. I try to play it whenever possible, though sometimes I cannot do so. "tikay Sleepstack" Every Wednesday at 7pm, £11, 5,000 chips & 15 minute Levels I think. This is, I think, the only "badged" 10 seater Tourney on Sky Poker, all the others are 6 seaters. The whole site is 6-max, with just a few exceptions. Viva Las Vegas. Tiighty has detailed these, I think. Essentially, a £10,000 package, which includes flight tickets to Vegas for TWO people, & a suite at The Rio. And all our players get VERY well looked after out there, trust me...... There are, of course, thousands of other Tournies, but I hope that asnwers your question. If not, fire away. The Tourney types are, mainly, standard NLHE, Bounty Hunters, Velocity (FAST), "Scary" (VERY fast), Deepstacks, plus the stuff I've mentioned. It is not exactly 'Stars, and has a lot more development left in it (!), which will feed through during the early part of this year, but I believe it's perfectly fit for purpose, all things considered, & is very smooth compared to the Flash-based version. BOTH versions remain available, & a surprising number of players have expressed a wish to stay on the Flash Client, which is fine, as both will run permanently & in parallel. Title: Re: Sky Poker: New Sponsors of blonde Poker Post by: tikay on January 01, 2011, 02:52:29 PM Rebuys. It's all going so ell so far today, thank you, so now I' going to spoil it, but I may as well bite the bullet & get it out of the way. Rebuys (& Add-ons) on Sky Poker are raked, 10%, exactly the same as Reg Fees. Not to everyone's taste, that, but it won't be changing, so if that does not meet your approval, best to swerve them, as I don't see the Policy ever changing, be it right or wrong. Only one of the nightly Main Events is a Rebuy - Friday, at 8pm. Only one TOTTY is a Rebuy, (and it is a LIMITED Rebuy) also Friday, this one at 8.30pm. For me, it's "Rebuy Night", & I actually find it good fun, & very profitable. Except for these, all the Tourneys I listed earlier are Freezeouts. The Sky Poker methodology for Rebuys is..... A Rebuy can be taken as soon as a single chip has been lost. The Add-on is at the first break, & has 50% "bonus chips", so in, say, a 2,500 chip Friday night TOTTY, the Add-On is 3,750 chips, & in the Friday Night Rebuy Open, which has 2,000 starting chips, the Add-On is 3,000 chips. Report it to Customer Services and hopefully you should get your money back I had a slight problem with "Network Error 500" popping up but it is rectified for me and a few others I know who had same problem. Signed up and deposited, but every username I have ever used is taken, took a good 20 minutes to think of something new and original, I gave up in the end and chose something old and tired. I have a hand I want to post to the PHA from Sky Poker. Is there anyway I can get the hand history easily? they have a strange version of hand historys that don't look like the normal ones. Any idea anyone? Any idea anyone? Your options are.... go to my hh and find the hand. copy paste (using IE or firefox not other browsers or something like that) and then paste into sky forums. and it will come out layed out so you can view it just. you can also open standard view, enlarge the chat, and copy paste the 'full detail info' it missed off information but is one of the easiest ways to get vaguely readable hand histories. you'll miss off stack sizes and other info but most hand histories dont even register most players stack sizes etc so it's about as good as you'll get. |
