Title: RSQ 43 - potentially crap, deffo over in a week (thank god)
Post by: Claw75 on February 02, 2011, 06:30:06 PM
Welcome to the reverse sheep quiz 43 (are we really still going?)

Rules (mainly c+p from Joobie's so any complaints can be directed to her) :D

Here's the deal.

There are 10 questions, PM your answers for them to me by 6pm on Monday February 7th, each answer on a separate line please, next to the corresponding question number.

Your score for each question is the number of people who give the same correct answer. So you want to go for answers that you think will be less commonly given. Levelling commonly happens. The answer most commonly given is called the sheep, with the corresponding sheep score.

You are not allowed to do any research such as Google searches or asking your mum to come up with answers.

If you give an incorrect answer, you will receive the sheep score + 5.

You MUST pass on one question and score a 0 for that question.

Spelling mistakes will be laughed at and may even invoke a penalty.

Any questions post in this thread (or PM), but don’t post your answers obv.

The reveal will be 8.30pm(ish) on Tuesday February 8th

Should a previous QM be victorious, he/she may nominate a virgin QM to run the next quiz, if they so desire.

Objections are allowed but may be ignored/punished (PMT bit removed coz i'm just over mine - i still might be stroppy tho :))

I reserve the right to change these rules without notice at anytime before the start of the reveal.

oh - the winner is the person with the lowest score ;)

Questions

1. Name an album that appears in the top 20 of NME's greatest albums of all time (as at 2006)

2. Name a current, regular, TV series on the Disney Channel or Disney XD in the UK

3.  Name a blonde member (forum name) who appears in the top ten for 'most time online' as at 2/2/2011

4. Name a team that reached the quarter finals in the 2010 FIFA world cup.

5. Give a commonly used phrase that a man might use to describe making love to a pretty girl when bragging to his friends about it the following day.

6. Name a singer that had at least one solo line in Band Aid's 'Do they know it's Christmas' (from any of the 1984, 1989 or 2004 versions)

7.  Name a compulsory subject on the National Curriculum for children in key stage 1 and 2 (primary school) in England.

8. Name someone that has held the title of king or queen of the jungle after winning 'i'm a celebrity, get me out of here' (UK version only)

9.  Name a novel written by one of the Brontë sisters (Charlotte Brontë, Emily Brontë or Anne Brontë)

10. Name an airline that appears in the top ten for number of scheduled passengers carried in 2010 (worldwide)

FML.

Haven't got a clue on Q2, Q5's a disgrace and you're pandering to the masses with Q4.

For that reason, I'm in!

lol I like q5. Though shouldn't you add the corresponding female version for max amusement? I suggest replacing the Disney q. We don't all have kids!

And might see if I can do something about it definitely being over in a week too :)

Good questions - in.

Question 5 is probably the best question ever in a RSQ.

i thought so too.  some potential farce though as i've realised from one or two of the answers that i worded it a bit too ambiguously.

in some pre-reveal farce i've just realised that the chart i'm looking at for question 1 was compiled in 2006.  I don't think that will affect anyone who has entered so far.

Can I change my answer now I know what year the list is from?

if you're answer was a post 2006 album you may.  i believe your answer considerably predates 2006 though.

But if it's based on a particular year, people will include recent albums from around that time.  These albums might replace other, older albums.

well, I'm going to have to say no, as i'm aware that you've looked at the list.  sorry for being so harsh and all that.

if you want to replace it with another fail, that's ok though.

It is not a current series as production stopped in 2009, to be superceded by Suite Life on Deck. Repeats occasionally fill the schedule but it is not a current series.

A current, regular series as in your question implies one that is currently being made. Suite Life of Zack and Cody is not.

most of the shows being shown in the UK were made a while back.  'currently' may imply 'being made' to you, but the intention was to prevent people from using series' that were no longer being shown.  overrulled again.

Scores please jack.

i know the difference geographically.  as far as footy is concerned they're known as 'holland' innit.  i'll change my post to show the answer as 'the netherlands' if you want, but anyone who said holland is getting lumped in.  i'm not a pedant.

No they're not. They're known as The Netherlands. Anyone in footy who calls them Holland is wrong. That does not make it a correct answer to your quiz.

Apologies.  To be honest, I thought it'd be finished by now.  Looks like it's descended into complete farce though.  Holland, PE and leaving her smoking... would never have happened in gatso's day.

OBJECTION.

RE is a Compulsary subject

" Schools also have to teach religious education, though parents have the right to withdraw children for all or part of the religious education curriculum."

that's an addendum to the list of compulsory subjects, on which RE does not appear.  Schools are obliged to teach it, kids are not obliged to attend the lessons, therefore not compulsory.

so we agree its in addtion to the compulsary list, therefore it is compuslory...that schools have to teach, the parents / kids dont have to attend.

Question was, Compulsary subjects, of which (albeit an addtional capicity) RE is.

it can't be compulsory and be in addition to the complusory subjects.  still a fail i'm afraid waz.

last chance to make the correct decision...addition means to add too...that fact that it is being added to the list of compulsory subjects surely makes it one.

The addition isn't due to it NOT being a true compulsory subject, but to make clear it isn't compulsory to attend

Sorry, fairy stories aren't a compulsory subject - as the students don't HAVE TO be taught it.  Which is too bloody right.

so you don't believe in Robbie Fowler? lol.

Which is too bloody right.

so you don't believe in Robbie Fowler? lol.

More love here imo.
