Lol, how is it super+ev?? I mean I guess it's pretty borderline. Default folding 88 here, but obviously JJ goes in, but TT still a decision. Would need to have a read that dude is opening very wide to ship it here. He's raising 1+UTG with no antes in play. Gots to play tight yo. We've almost got implied odds to call and set-mine. If you know for a fact he has a UTG range of monster pocket pairs, fair enough, but you haven't said how you know that. And we're only 8 handed.

I never call in these spots. Title: Re: 99 utg+1 in 13$ 90 ko turbo Post by: Skippy on March 02, 2011, 11:36:16 AM Here's how I see it.
If lots of people call behind us, that's happy days- we just go into set mining mode and have good odds to do so (both actual, and implied). We've also got a chance that if we get a baby flop of 3 cards below our 99 we might be winning- but we have to be very careful in that case. If a shorty ships and UTG calls, we have to let it go. If a shorty ships and UTG folds, we can call and if they've got a bigger pocket pair oh well. If we get 3 bet or shoved on by a deeper stack (of which there are two), again it depends on what UTG does, but it's a bit tricky. If we get to the flop heads up with UTG, then I think we should be able to play the hand OK. A lot of it depends on what you think the UTG player has, though.
