Hi all

Ive been playing MTTs on Party Poker this year and had a fairly good run at them ($55, $100, $109 and $100 1r 1a).

At this time, this is an interest thread but hopefully that will change when I get snapped up.

The standard is pretty poor with a few solid regs, and as Cos will tell you I have plenty notes on the regulars! The structures get a little crap shooty towards the end, but people play 10 and 20 bb stacks so poorly that there is a tonne of value. I have had plenty of FT's this year but just not managed the top step (that will change).

I am proposing getting a 6k bank roll together and playing as often as possible when I have a night I know I can play all night (prob 2-3 nights  a week). Stake is to be 70/30 in backers favour after stakeback.

The proposal would be to play the following nightly tourneys as my regulars

2 x $55 10ks
2 x $109  (10 & 15k)
1 x $99 (8k - will only reg if v deep in another as it is a midnight start but such good value)
1 x $33 (nightly $3,333 turbo - redic soft field)
 
consideration will then be given to the following subject to binkage

Nightly supers $99 1r 1a (40k)
Nightly turbo ($120 - 10k)


I would propose that no single tourney is more than 5% of the current roll

So:
10% = $600
5% =  $300

money will need to be shipped on party or by bank

Stake will probs not start until after Mid July - so I wont be asking for money till then

NB. I wont be playing on my own dime on party whilst the stake is in operation, so there will be no rubs!

I have set up my own business this year so personal cash flow is under strict control. I have cashed out 25k + into my life roll this year.

I have mostly gone through the pain now but would still prefer to be staked for the time being.

Also brm and tilt control I am much better with when also considering other peoples money.

I would only played staked games on party if backed

Right, definately in Guy - if possible like Pleno I'd rather ship on stars but if you need Bank Xfer I will sort.  Be also good just to clarify payout rules etc in terms of timings for payouts and opt outs etc - i.e. do you plan to do what MC did which worked pretty well at end of each month or do we just roll it to a target point or loss (obv later won't happen lol).

Just to clarify various points made throughout the thread:

Payment is 70/30 backers favour after stakeback

No single tourney to ever be >5% roll

Touneys to be the nightly guaranteed $33 $55 $99 $109 (to be played as often as possible when I know I have a free night). These are to be played at my discretion and the thread updated nightly when played

I would also like to consider the big guarantees (played as a 109 cubed) and nightly 120 turbo, subject to binkage. This will be discussed in thread prior to doing it. If 50% of stakers agree (as held in %) - we go ahead

LETS THINK BIG - profit will be cashed out and sent Monthly to investors. The only exception to this will be month 1 when I would like to roll it up and consider the bigger games if we get off to a good start.

IF WE DONT GO BIG - just for clarity - people have asked about reloading etc. I am 100% happy to play this stake off in MU under the terms of the original stake. However, prior to topping up, I would drop down stakes and try to do some winning to get us back on track. Should people drop out I will re-open %'s for sale, with first refusal to initial investors.

I will send fortnightly screen shots of my balance to backers by PM and keep a running total going in this thread.

I wil not play any games for myself on Party during this stake

If this stake is on MU shouldn't we be cashing out any profits as they're earned rather than waiting to the end of the month?

If not then Guy is effectively playing with his own money which isn't really the idea.

If the pot is currently 7k or whatever Guy should be taking his $300 'wages' and we should divvy up the $700 leaving the 6k to play with.

Think we just need to agree either timeframe (daily, weekly or monthly) - first option would give what you say Evil - or just a bink / profit trigger so what you says happens. I have stayed silent on this for lots of reasons, I wanted people's thoughts too!

My thoughts are Matt and stu are technically correct, however I also appreciate that this isn't how I described it.

The only way I can see this working in practice is that I set up an account for Shelley and transfer winnings into that acct. Then pay them out mOnthly? Thoughts?

I have often thought that the roll was light, so why don't we try and win the world in September, get the role to a higher figure then revert to Plan B then?

i know you weren't calling me out - neither was Matt - you have a very good point about staking theory

When Matt raised it I spoke to a good mate who has staked and been staked and isn't a blonde to get his perspective.

In its purest form, he agrees with you and Matt, however is also cautious on "what was sold".

I of course stand to lose the most by not doing it your way (my 30% split) but by the same token this isn't a traditional MU type backing deal. I have confirmed I am happy to play in MU of people are happy to reload, but if people chose not to reload then obv no MU.

For me it is very easy - I am not one to get wrapped up in red tape. Prior to knowing much about staking this is how I envisaged this thread

1. the min cashes and occasional mini bink will maintain a 6k roll ( as discussed I had been nervous that this could be light @ these stakes - but would change stakes rapidly i it got to say 3k)

2. There will be periodic nice binks (3k+) which we cash out when above the 6k mark


^^^^^^^^^^^^ that was my naive approach to this stake, and to be quite frank if that is how we do it - then so be it. Please also bear in mind that I am one of 3 equal largest stakee's too!

However  -we are all in this to make a return - and surely cashing out regularly will achieve this. So putting my selfish views aside - if I was you guys - i see alot of merit in this too. If we had agreed this pre - then we would have 900 set aside for cash out and the roll would be circa $5400 (ball park). I'm sure people would be happy with that too.


The ONLY thing I am certain of - is that when we win 500 - I'm not cashing out $445 and distributing it 10 ways on a nightly basis - that becomes pointlees. Like I say we can set up a holding acct for monthly cashouts.

1. All money above 6k goes into a holding acct at ALL times. This is then distributed monthly as per scheme

2. Roll just fluctuates during a rolling monthly period and anything above a set profit line (1k?) is withdrawn

Please dont get me wrong, I am absolutely delighted with the way this thread has started. We could have obviously been well on the way to busto by now!

The frustration stems from where you really think that top 3 is an absolute minimum (both in chip position and quality of villains) and then you get bummed! The flip side to that of course was the biggest score yet of $1.7 which could easily have been $300.

We really havent run well on finals yet at aipf showdown. Obv we have done some binking to get there, and I did win an 85bb pot with T high last night too. My game doesnt involve alot of show downs (without it), so I sometimes get very frustrated when we just cant hold.

Lots of things have come together in my game this year and I AM running good, just not in those redic high equity last 5 spots! Guess that is MTT's.

Lets keep this thing going anyway!

I have thought about this. We can clearly leave it in the roll and just keep spinning/fluctuate. From a mental point of view i actually see merit in taking in back to $6k and playing my standard $252 4 touney schedule. (We had a wild weekend!)

From spinning point of view:

1. We can look at the GSOP schedule at the end of sept and fire some bullets?
2. We can WCOOP (or combo of WCOOP and GSOP)

3. I like this option. There is a nightly €100 40k f/o on pokerstars.fr. Maybe we get a 2nd roll going on same terms? Tourney fits in well with current schedule

Think you should cash out based on a starting roll of $5700 mate as the $300 never arrived. Re-investing $300 + $184 is way too complicated.

That means that the total profit is $5562

Your cut is $1668.60 leaving $3893.40 to chop.

5% of that is $194.67

Someone then needs to stump up $300 to buy that extra 5% that's still available.

Think you should take the remaining 5% yourself to give you more to play for but if not I'll happily have it.

the $300 is easily solved, take $300 off my share of any cashout and include that in the roll. I OWE the bankroll $300, could gladly have shipped it but I was enjoying the thought of free-rolling it lol.

the only option aside from cashout I really want to look at is GSOP's, as they are sick soft, as long as this counts as money RE-INVESTED, and not just "spinning the profits" (i.e. you'd have to make the money back up on the party deal if we bricked) otherwise I think it's a bad deal for the backers.

With regard to the roll, Im not bothered about what we do. It becomes notional whether you call it 7500 or 6000 as the base because you are always just moving up and down around it (I am leaving my 17.5% in).

I would prefer just to call it 6k  and all we are doing is pre reging some tournies with the profit.

If people feel strongly about it then we will just cash out back to 6k, but I really dont see it makes a difference other than to my confidence, and I much prefer to be in profit than below 6k. So in an invisible way (my confidence) we all win by leaving it in.

Once you've taken your 30% out of the current profit the remaining $1500 belongs to investors.

If we still call it $6k you could break even for a month, say we're still $1500 up and take another 30% cut.

You could then say we're $1050 up and take 30% of that and so on and so forth.........

Either cash the lot out and reset at $6k or just take your 30% of current profits and have the rest reinvested. Your 17.5% becomes worth more as well as you now have 17.5% of $7500 investment.

Does it make sense now?

Ideally you need someone with a dormant party account, you can then just transfer anything over 6k to it throughout the month and sort out payments at the end of each month.

All these ideas just make things overly complicated.

Well I've got a dormant Party account but I can see a potential problem.

If Party are anything like stars then any money transferred has to be played with and can't just be withdrawn.

Personally I think anything above $6k Guy should just withdraw to a bank account and then chop it up at the end of every month.
