Was just chatting to one of my mates, he told me he went to get fish and chips on his way home from work earlier. Driving home after the smell in his car was fantastic and he was well looking forward to tucking into it.

He got home, got a glass of wine out and was all ready to go, opened it up and there was no fish WTF?  :D

Needless to say it made my day when he just told me  :D

The traffic was too bad to go back so he just ended up cooking egg and beans to go with it.

I would have haddocardiac arrest.

The stentch must have been overwhelming.

I would have driven back and perched myself in front of the guppies whilst telling them they must have a problem with their herring aid to have missed out the fish!!

Chip shop selection is obv huge. I was lucky when I lived in sheffield, lived 5 minutes away from the Broomhill Friery. Occasionally used to run into Sean Bean there too cos his nephew owns the plaice

Around Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire there is a chain called Georges, they are the nut shops in our area.

Oh man, best chip shop ever. I must gone in there 2/3 times a week when I was a student in Sheffield. Heard Tony sold up and it has gone downhill since.

Yeah I've always thought this as well, always seem to be lush from the Chinese.

Used to love the 'Broomhill Greasery' as it was called in my day.  That was before it was sold and closed down and then resurrected.  Used to spend an inordinate amount of time in the 'Notty' and the Greasery was the only port of call on the way home.

The kebabs there were exceptional.

The food at Notty House is still incred

Yeah the cod heads have the best chippys IMO and makes up for having the worlds worst football team.

they are bloody good. I can get really good ones near home too, feel sorry for people itt saying they can't especially those who think the best ones come from chinese restaurants, but they taste so much better at the seaside

Once rang a takeaway and asked for a dish not spicy. WHAT? was the response after some broken english mumbling. I said REALLY REALLY MILD.

It arrived and after one mouthful I spent the next 15 minutes with my tongue under the tap.

I month or so ago I ordered a chicken jalfrezi from an unknown takeaway.

....it had MUSHROOMS in it!!!!!

Needless to say I never used them again!

years ago, just after we first moved to ruislip, my then hubby and I ordered a delivery from the local curry house.  curry arrived and hubby was not at all impressed to find raw chicken in his curry - not undercooked - completely raw and rubbery.  He phoned them in a bit of a huff and they agreed to bring a fresh one over asap.  "make sure you bring some new rice as well, as this lot will be cold" he barked.  "of course sir".

15 minutes later, new curry arrives. "och nooo - it's exactly the same!".  He calls them again, livid.  "sir, we've checked the one you gave us back and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it:  are you sure it's not the lychees...........?"  ;ashamed;

Place is cracking, was there a few weeks back.

Yeh thanks for the warning mate. We didn't eat our pizza. In fact I've been put off the place unsurprisingly. Which is effing annoying because it's on my route home! Sigh
