Title: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Nakor on January 08, 2006, 12:28:41 PM Well what can I say about the day . . .
Simply Brilliant. A big Thankyou to all at Blonde for organising a brilliant day. Thanks also to all at the Broadway (fantastic venue to which I can't wait to return). Thanks to Dik your hardwork was appreciated - sorry we didn't meet. Take this a very firm virtual handshake. My day well. Got lost going, went to wrong casino (and joined oops), and thus parked car in wrong place. Played a SNG poorly. Played the main event badly, had a great table with Jen, Tikkay, 4adam, Mrs Splash (good luck), Kaz (very aggressive), Bullets (yes he knocked me out with . . .aces), Wardonkey (nice result), and the wonderful Nun. Random thoughts from the day. I thought Flushy would be older. No jumper Robert very dissapointing. Kev honestly loves those pies and I hope the Pukka vs Bentos sponsership battle works out well for you. That Rob Yong can talk. I think The Rock got a Bad Beat. Mr Jackson a pleasure as always. Matt looks nothing like his Aviater on stars. Mr F - Hows the Head today? Mr and Mrs C how lovely are they. Snoop just as I pictured :D Those that swapped name badges you are very nughty. Rod Paradise - you look just like you're picture. Tighty doesn't he didnt fall asleep once. Red I thought he'd be bigger but as nice as you would imagine. I was majorly underdressed. Armo well yes he is big. Heid thanks for the Birthday Present. And Mr Kendal what a star and a gent. (He got asked for his autograph you know) Once again thanks to all, can't wait for the next adventure. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Rooky9 on January 08, 2006, 01:46:41 PM Seconded!
Great day............ Me and At it set off from Leeds and headed to the marriott at lunch time to find Mr Ironside with a bottle of becks, soon followed by Robert HM, MalcomM, Colchester Kiv, Heid, Tightend and (after a great set up by ironside to get the receptionist to ask him for his autograph) that bloke off the tele, Tikay! We headed across to the Broadway to beat the rush to join and have some dinner. Its a pretty impressive casino, with areas better than your local trendy bar and good food! The need for poker was growing by 3.30pm so a few of us decided we would have a satalite to the evening competition (i know a 30 quid buy in but thats not the point!)..... Ten of us sat down.... Myself, At-it, Dewi, Wardonkey, Boodeeram, MalcolmM, tikay (sorry cant remeber the others!) With a ten minute clock and 1500 chips we were treated to some professional standard dealing from at it, some less professional standard playing by myself and some unbelievable speech play from Tikay who was in every pot and winning! I took a few off him with 10 10 and he exited soon after - with the commitments to mingle! Anyway it got to Me At-it and booderam(sorry if i spelt that wrong!) I got slightly lucky taking the A 10 of booderam out with QJ to be heads up with an advantage over at it... I double him up once but I caught him eventually! We were on a 50/50 weekend anyway but not the point! great stuff I'm in tonight for about a fiver! Before the competition starts there is a chance to meet some great people, mostly throught ppl bradley knows, like simon Nowab who is one of the most energetic ppl alive and pretty entertaining (even at 5am in the marriott bar after several bottles of champers, too many others to mention.... hi all!) Into the comp.. I'm on table 11, the first there, and in seat 2 - the most recognisable person at the table was Red Dog and I have tips on Da Matrix being handy...the table being friendly if a little quiet with several of us having only a small amount of live experience.... I decide not to take my second chance st8 away and build chips nicely... losing a decent amount with JJ V QQ - the table is broken soon after....... I'm now moved to table 9 where i immediatly recognise mr yong and londpokergirl (who can drink many vodka red bulls). I was a fan of Rob Yong's vegas diary and fully respect his business achievements and generosity. Soon after I arrived he appeared to be winning pots with speech play and friendly bullying.... time for me to step up and give some speech to him - hopefully all taken in a friendly mannor to keep myself and the table entertained and rob interested in the game! Neither of us got each others chips as he was drawn to the bar for large periods! To my right was Glenn, who is chilli's other half, a really nice bloke who is fairly new to poker (his second live game)and had come along for the ride.... I kept a check on his progress throughout the night, getting the occational smile as he realised he was in good shape and enjoying the whole experience (i expect there is another member in the mist if not already!) I think he ended up 6th ish. My next table. I'm sat to tightends right with a man in a black suit and shaven head about five to my right. He was sat reading a magazine and seemed to be chipped up - i couldnt see his name tag! After a few hands he made 3000ish to go at 400-800, i have JJ on the button with approx 6000 - I push he calls with AK and turns his ace... I'm gone from my first experience with Mr ActionJack himself! Note to self - take notice of who is who - i would never of change this situation anyway - a 50/50 double up was needed! I throughly enjoyed my competition and filled some time with a bubble finish on a single table and some rail time... The final table takes a while to form as the short stacks wont die from 14 to 10! My deal with Mr bradley means I'm 9 people away from my biggest prize in poker without actually playing!! the blinds by this point are huge - the bish went from 600 to 40k at one point - benefiting from some nice hands and the blind size.... At it eventually went out 9th after making a move.... The heads up games were really good to watch as was the final few of the final table, two world class players going at each other in a $30 comp, and i heard the phrase, 'I'm not bothered about the money i just want the trophy' absolutely unbelieveably fantastique!!!! Major respect to bothfor playing with such an attitude! It really shows how good these pro's are, including El blondie and simon Nowab (and At-it, as his manager and finanacial advisor I will promote him with no shame at every opportunity!) their experience being just a small fraction of their advantage allowing them to show just how to play the game. We headed back to the marriott, treated by a round from Rob yong, sadly i'm driving! Tikay ( ;tk;) plays ActionJack for a place in the team heads up final.... AJ and his girls progress, think the final is being played today, mainly consisting of girls - well done you! All that was left was the 120 mile drive back to leeds at 5.30am after an amazing 16 hours in birmingham...... A big thank you to all involved, Broadway & staff, Dik9, all the mods, all the pro's and all the blondes!!!!! Great to put some names to faces, no doubt about it being the first of hopefully a regular event that is going to need to find a casino that can seat 200+ soon (I've heard there is a poker club near Nottingham opening this year that may be able to do this!) That is my rambling experience of yesterday and I could really have summed it up by saying I had a great day with some great people.... How was your experience? Edited to correct some of the spelling mistakes - i'm a bit tired! Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: mikkyT on January 08, 2006, 02:00:11 PM Glad you boys enjoyed it, the effort thats gone into putting on the blondebash has been tremendous. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: MrsSplash on January 08, 2006, 04:14:18 PM This is my first post and last night was only my second live game (and it showed).
I'd like to thank everyone at my table (The Nun, Wardonkey, 4Adam and Nakor in particular) for making me feel very welcome. I also felt privileged to have Tikay at my table (even if it was for only 10 minutes) followed later by Elblondie. I really enjoyed the evening, especially the fact that I managed to stay in longer than Splash. It was also nice to finally meet Zelda, who Splash describes as "really pretty" and he wasn't wrong. Thanks again everyone for making it a great night and hope I will be able to make the next one (depending on when baby splash decides to put in his appearance). Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Splash on January 08, 2006, 04:20:24 PM Can I be the 1st one to welcome MrsSplash!!

Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: DaMatrix on January 08, 2006, 05:25:37 PM Hi everyone, woke up at 3pm today (couple of hours later than usual) after attending the Blonde Bash. I almost didn't go as I had been sick for the previous 2 days but I wrapped up in a warm coat and scarf and brought my new silver rabbit card protector with me for luck!
I'd been to the Broadway a couple of times before and new that the blondes who hadn't been there before would be instantly impressed. It was my first visit since Dik9 had left and his absence was clearly felt. I'd like to thank him for getting this event off the ground but it was a great shame that he was unable to attend. I read on another thread that I was one of his picks at 33/1 - I think he meant to lay in my condition! Made a great first impression when I almost burned Tightend's hand off with a cigarette as he was handing my name badge to me in the presence of "Grandad". Just before the comp started I also saw a pic of Aces in Poker Europe for winning a 30 euro tourney in Paris - I got a vision of him winning again and that instantly made him favourite in my book to win. I started on table 11 seat 4. Only 9 people on this table with Red Dog in pos 9. The only 2 other people I noted where some kid with a WPT Bellagio cap showing off with chip trix and Rookie9 who I'd seen talking to Gambler21 so I gathered he might have a few moves - when you see the name "Rookie" you gotta watch out! The table was quite tight, I don't thing Red Dog won a hand for over 4 orbits until he stole some blinds. He had to undo his "$$$" imprinted yellow tie. The WPT kid was played confidently and there were one or two Gus Hansen wannabe's trying to lose their cips. It was a double chance, and the WPT kid was the only player that took the option for the add on at the start. That's normally an optimal decision and a tip off that he thought he was the best player at the table - that's all you need sometimes. I decided to blend in and be non threatening instead since the table was tight anyway - 2,500 chips were ample. Our table was one of the first to be broken up and I got moved to a more mature table. The first hand that I get at my new table is AA and I eliminate MalcM, melting his snowmen. I now take my add-on option and reach the break with 8,000 chips. After the break I lose about 2k of it to Ace2mouth(?) trying to steal a pot. With the blinds increasing every 20 minutes, we were already at 600/1,200. Paresh moves all in and I find JJ in the small blind, after a dwell I pass. Mel Lofthouse can't believe I passed, while Paresh says he had JJ too. He moves all in the next hand too and then again utg with K7s which he shows after every one folds - I'm now regretting my earlier fold lol. In early position I find TT and move all in for 4700 with the blinds still at 600/1200. Folded round to Paresh who dwells and then folds, the table chip leader NoflopsHomer calls the 4100 from the small blind with 66, BB folds. I'm busted by 666 :( Felt a bit sorry for the WPT kid who just missed out on the money and NoFlopsHomer who ended up as the bubble boy. I don't think anyone that has ever knocked me out of a live comp has gone on to win unless it was heads up! - remember that ;) Nevertheless, I was great to watch AJ and ST still in the comp and I congratulated Aces on a great comeback during a short break. Didn't wanna jinx him so I didn't tell him about my vision about him winning it lol Meanwhile The Edge was trying to play h/u drunk but still drinking out of a bottle of Bollinger and someone was chatting up El Blondie's wife unaware of who she was! With the main comp down to 8 players, I entered the last blonde STT. Royal Fish wanted to play but wasn't on the list, but in true blonde spirit we all agreed to let one more fish play and so we started with 11 players and 1,000 chips each. Sitting in seat 4, the first and second player to get knocked out where in seat 1 and seat 2 respectively. IFM in seat 3 had other plans though and didn't want to follow the trend. I almost literally folded my way to the money level on chips with Royal Fish but IFM with about 80% of the chips. IFM then busted the fish and first hand h/u I was all in blind, losing and finishing runner-up. A well deserved win for IFM. Who became Blonde Champ? - Aces of course! Thank you Blonde, DaMatrix Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: BlueWolf on January 08, 2006, 05:31:40 PM Well thought i better [post summat here i guess.
Been away from blonde for a bit now since i moved back down here, so it was good to chat with a few people last night. The comp itself went absolutely great, i'd been dreading it all week after hastily putting the finishing touches to it in under a fortnight (with xmas gettin in the way bah humbug) Must thank a few people..... Heid For puttin me at ease as soon as she turned up by huggin me (dunno who told her i was panicing lol) TraceT for generally being lovely AlrightJack he's always good to sit and chat too Rod Paradise - what a guy a true joy to be around Tikay - For his good humour (well with that hair!!) Flushy - for giving me someone to pick on Chubbs Nowab - for being an entertaining drunk lol Tightend - for his hardwork and effort in putting this together ElBlondie and Mrs C - For allowing us to be involved in all this But generally everyone who turned up deserves a huge thankyou anyway, it was amazing to see the athmosphere of the forum could transfer into a live enviroment so effortlessly And most importantly TO ALL THE STAFF who were involved (some even working their days off) Everyone i spoke to remarked how good you all were and the staff really seemed to enjoy having you here so once again thankyou all take a bow Blondites Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: BlueWolf on January 08, 2006, 05:34:25 PM . It was my first visit since Dik9 had left and his absence was clearly felt. Care to explain this comment?? not quite sure how to take it lol :D Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: dik9 on January 08, 2006, 05:41:46 PM LOL take it how you wish :D :D
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 08, 2006, 05:42:53 PM LOL take it how you wish :D :D You would've stopped the levels only being 20 minutes long. :D Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: BlueWolf on January 08, 2006, 05:46:07 PM The decison to do 20 minute antes was ElBlondies decision, i was happy with 30 minutes (just someone advertised the stupid start time of 730pm on a saturday and didnt make it a 2 day event!!!)
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: dik9 on January 08, 2006, 05:51:58 PM Wait till tonight Bluewolf? 7000pts on a half hour clock, with the Broadway structure. I lwill give you any odds you will have a multi way chip count. Fantastic Job BTW for last night THANK YOU (tipping my cap at ya sir!).
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: BlueWolf on January 08, 2006, 05:55:10 PM due to popular demand its now 6000pts (3k+3K) and a slightly revised 30minute clock (again the pre publisied start time screws us over lol as i'd much prefer 45minutes from 730pm ish lol
on a 16 hour shuift today so i'll be in no state to worry about anything anyway Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: dik9 on January 08, 2006, 06:01:20 PM The start time was taken out of my hands, hence one of the reasons I am not there :D Doin a diamond job Chris, and everyone else.
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 08, 2006, 06:13:49 PM Yeah, I did love it. I'm sure I'll be back. Thanks Mr Bluewolf.
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: zelda on January 08, 2006, 06:41:31 PM I had a great time meeting you all - such a friendly bunch :D. The nun put me at ease straight away with a big hug :) It was great to get to know Highstack, splash and Diva a little better and mrs splash is just a lovely, natural person. I joined Charmaine and Trace for a ciggie and a chat and they are lovely, beautiful people also. Red-Dog is as wonderful as I imagined :-* :-* and tikay has such a charisma :) :)
I cant believe I live 10 mins away from the Broadway and have never been before - its a beautiful place... I look forward to meeting you all again very soon :) :) :) :) :) Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: BlueWolf on January 08, 2006, 06:46:37 PM And most importantly TO ALL THE STAFF who were involved (some even working their days off) Rod Paradise still in hacker mode......Everyone i spoke to remarked how good you all were and the staff really seemed to enjoy having you here Well I hope the staff can come up to the Cincin's do & play... they were great & deserve the chance to come & join in!!! Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: matt674 on January 08, 2006, 08:09:38 PM Matt looks nothing like his Aviater on stars. Because i had my coat groomed especially for the occasion!! (oh yeah and i brought forward my annual tick bath as well).... i'd just like to echo the sentiments in this post of thanking everyone involved for making last night so enjoyable - hopefully i'll have to make my annual tick bath a bi or tri-annual occurance :) congratulations to Aces on capturing the first Blonde Bash title - maybe if i hadnt of made my bad call with AK vs his KK things would have been different!! Hope everyone still down at the Broadway have an enjoyable evening, hope to see everyone again very soon. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: the rock on January 08, 2006, 09:48:24 PM Had a great time. The staff were magnificent.
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: ACE2M on January 08, 2006, 11:01:44 PM I had a great night, thanks to all who put the time in to organise it.
Favourite memory was seeing highstack river a 6 in the cash game against someone's QQ after making a move, highstack of course said sorry and m3boy's ensuing rant about people saying sorry when they don't mean it. thanks blonde. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: charmaine on January 08, 2006, 11:22:04 PM pmsl......M3's pet hate is when people say sorry after winning a large pot , but him rant ??? never rotflmfao rotflmfao
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Trace on January 09, 2006, 07:34:02 AM I always say sorry, can't help it! So boo yaa M3 lol
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: AdamM on January 09, 2006, 10:53:14 AM Thanks to all at Blonde for organising this event. This was the first live tourney I’d looked forward to for ages. The regular local stuff becomes so…well regular after a while and it made a change to play in such a warm, friendly (clean aired) game.
Also the staff were exceptional. Every single casino employee seemed genuinely personally invested in us having a good time. I’ve been recommending the Broadway today at the Gala and will do again. Well done Bluewolf on a well run tourney. There were a few names I recognised at my table. I personally didn’t find Scottish Dave’s table chat a problem. Infact being a Notts regular it made a change for it to be in English (ish) and in a friendly tone. I hadn’t meant to take my extra chips straight away but Rod Paradise (a true gent) was two to my right and he took his straight away saying he intended to be very aggressive. If I was going to defend myself in the blinds I was going to need the chips. That turned out to be academic as Jamier-host took over the table playing premium and filth equally strongly and connecting with his filth. Foxy minx and her traveling partner tried to put up a fight but eventually paid the price, as did RyG who’s 10,10 was no match for Jamier-host’s 7,5. I enjoyed watching him play and the table getting wound up but when he went it was by his AA getting cracked so there was some poetic justice in the end. I had a really dry night and after an uneventful game eventually went out when I had a go at Reddogs BB with k,9 and Booderham called from the SB with A6. Two Aces on the flop and I’m on the rail. I then played 3 STTs. In the first one Rod paradise chipped me up early. He made an outrageous play at my BB from UTG with A,5 and I defended myself with A,8 as I said I would in the main event. There was an A on the flop and after a semi bluffing war my rag played and his didn’t. I threw a few of Rods Chips at the charming Zelda and the only slightly less charming MalcM but still made top 3. I couldn’t make Sven put a hand down however weak it was and however much I bluffed at him so I went out third and he used my chips to batter Phil and take 1st. My second game I had an early :blonde: on my 1st BB. I thought Poppet7 raised from 1 off the button and I tried to bully her off it by pushing all in with my KQ. It turned out to be one of those ‘seat 10’ situations where I hadn’t spotted it was actually an UTG raise from Kiv and I ended up all in against AK and JJ. That’s the end of that then. Game 3 way a quieter affair although there were some laughs when AndrewT got caught making big moves with his 8,2 off (huge physical tell I might share with him if he asks) Kezza paid off my AA early doors with a Q,10 on a K,Q,x board. She played Q,x quite strong on my table in the main event so I thought I was gonna get paid when the flop came like it did. If I didn’t have AA,AK,KK QQ or KQ I couldn’t have called though so fair play to her. I made a few moves but basically nursed those chips through to HU with 4dam who I’d noted had a nice game. with only a 3/1 chip deficit I fancied it though and gave it some chat about annihilating the Rookie HU ;ifm;. 4dam then went and got KK and AA first two hands. My 5,2 was easy enough to get away from first hand but the A10 was inescapable and dominated and I had to settle for 2nd. While waiting for the 3rd STT to go I relieved the Nun from dealing a HU match between I know it and Chili. The first hand was a checked down not event. The second was I know its’ A10(?) v Chili’s 3.3. I flopped a 3 and as it won her the match Chili mauled me   . I know Glenn and me are both kickboxers but I’d rather chat to him about it than find out how good he is first hand ;hide;. Well done on the result Glen by the way. (even now I can hear Daves voice in my head when I type “by the way”) We need to be holding these things regularly. It was like going to a family wedding but meeting the relatives for the first time. Not one person did a thing to spoil the atmosphere. Infact I don’t remember being in a group as large and friendly as that in my life. I’d had a bad night with a teething baby on the Friday night so wasn’t my usual outgoing self and today am kicking myself for missing the opportunity of shaking more hands and meeting more Blondites than I did. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: MrMoves on January 09, 2006, 11:59:06 AM What a lovely, good natured game of poker. Nice to meet many of you, especially Snoopy, Tightend and Robert.
Well done to Bluewolf and the team for putting on a smooth running event. PLEASE put on a regular freezeout tournament for the Broadway punters. I arrived back home with Exorcism at 5.30am. Someone told me I was the highest blondeite in 5th? What an honour! Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: the_bish on January 09, 2006, 12:03:00 PM Well done to Bluewolf and the team for putting on a smooth running event. PLEASE put on a regular freezeout tournament for the Broadway punters. I echo this, please please PLEASE! Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: dik9 on January 09, 2006, 12:06:59 PM It was on the agenda, think it may well be especially after last nights £100 FO. I believe after speaking with a few people, they have now come aroung to the idea :D
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: MrMoves on January 09, 2006, 12:10:01 PM I've never seen it so busy. Shame you couldn't make it too, dik9.
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Karabiner on January 09, 2006, 12:28:24 PM I would like to add my thanks as well, especially to Tight End and Tikay for their super-human efforts.
My first visit to the Broadway and definitely won't be my last, just wish it was in Nottingham. Very classy casino, and a big thank you goes to all the staff who could not have been more friendly or competent. Not forgetting Dik9's major contribution, what a shame he could not be there. It was truly amazing to have the virtual-ambience of Blonde transported and reproduced in real life, and it was ! I'm sure that this will become an annual event now, can't wait for the next one. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Jamier-Host on January 09, 2006, 01:46:05 PM A great event and I'll certainly be at the next one.
Had good fun on my table messing about with all sorts of hands. My girlfriend did not want to play and seeing as everyone else in the casino did, I had been forced to leave her sat at the bar on her own. My instructions were "win it or get out quick". Obviously I was never gonna win it so did my best to chuck my chips in from behind only to keep outdrawing people. Foxyminx - I would have apologised but M3Boy was just behind me and I get enough rants from him already :D I eventually failed to connect with a nut flush draw and then got my aces cracked so all the chips went back the other way in the end (a not very Nostrodamus-like prediction that I had made earlier). An entertaining evening. Next time I'll make sure I stay the whole weekend. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: the_bish on January 09, 2006, 01:52:51 PM Does anyone know when the footage is going to be shown on channel 425?
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: M3boy on January 09, 2006, 02:03:30 PM I think "rant" is a bit strong!!
I would like to think of it as "drunken observation" lol Least now I know why I don't drink when playing Poker ;goodvevil; Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: The_nun on January 09, 2006, 02:15:46 PM Like everyone else we had a great time, both meeting up with familiar faces and finaly getting to grope all the other Blondes.I have got a few pctures that I will eventually get round to posting. Probably the best being Robert HM looking rather pleased with his chip stack in the later stages of the £100 game, and an absolutley gorgeous piccy of lovely Mr & Mrs Red. I have to say the Scottish boys are mighty fine guys but my back now hurts from bending down to pick up my chips from under the table (they don't wear any under them kilts you know).

I cant imagine how y'all were looking once everyone went back to the hotel and continued the party :) Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: dik9 on January 09, 2006, 02:25:28 PM Marriott had to stop serving at about 6:30 as it was drunk dry!!

ROLL ON THE NEXT ONE Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: divaflava on January 09, 2006, 02:59:34 PM There's always one... and this time it was me. Unfortuantely, I didn't feel well when I arrived and drinking non-alcoholic drinks soon made that worse! However, it was a pleasure to share my table with potbuilder, franzferdinandorsummatwhoidonatedmychipsto, some bloke with blonde hair called Bernie Smithers or something, big arno, the brief, pete tong (or something like that), sven, KezZA the mad re-raiser and the gentleman and supplier of good advice that is Bag End. I'll gloss over my play, suffice to say I donated to Franz Ferdinand's coffers when I failed to notice he was still in a hand from UTG and then was unlucky enough to be outdrawn on the deal a few hands later when his KK jammily held up against my 99.
Nice to put a few faces to names and say hello again to some I knew before even if I did end up crashing by 1am with a bad headache. At least those Marriot beds were nice and soft - altho' travelling to Brum for a decent night's sleep was pretty much the antithesis of my original plan! Hope to be more sociable next time!!! Glad everyone else has had such a fantastic time and Jen does look bigger in real life...until she's sitting behind the world's largest mug of tea at new street station. Big thanks to all the organisers and all those who have taken the time to make Blonde such a pleasant place to post and contributed to its first twelve months. I hope you celebrate many more birthdays. Finally, while I'm not a fan of playing poker in casinos I'd like to say the broadway is a very nice venue and the staff were helpful too. See you around. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: booder on January 09, 2006, 05:30:04 PM WOW.........what a weekend.

Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: AndrewT on January 09, 2006, 06:22:38 PM Immense thanks post number 3546.
Having never been to the Broadway before, I have to say I was astounded with the place. Fantastically well run, with great food and very comfy sofas, and that was before you even get to the poker area at the far end of the room. Great staff and brilliant dealers (particularly the enchanting Stacey) made for a fantastic weekend. The poker was fun, particularly the SNGs and as for AdamM, I'm amazed that he managed to isolate just one of my tells from the Rainman-esque cavalcade of tics, twitches and vocal intonations which normally ensue when I'm playing. As ever, too many people to mention by name, but I must highlight the Scottish national drinking team, who graciously decided to hold one of their pre-Commonwealth Games training sessions at the Broadway on Saturday. Teacake, Tank et al - you'll win gold in Melbourne for sure! Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Robert HM on January 09, 2006, 11:34:11 PM No jumper Robert very dissapointing. Good to meet you nakor, sorry about the jumper, I did go to the car to get it for Sunday evening, found it had a flat battery, the car not the jumper, so lost the mood. Rooky9, good to meet you having already met your partner, a lovely couple, nice hair as well. tikay's face as he came into the bar with that big chuffed grin, "I have just been asked for my autograph" Much fun!! Me and MrsSplash had a great time... especially the psycho cash game! U having bad dreams about 55 still M3 ?? Also good to meet you and Mrs Splash. I really wanted to see you meet Jamier-host for the first time, just to watch you discuss the wise move of trying to challange 88 with a measly AA. What a lovely, good natured game of poker. Mr Moves, well done on that placing. The poker Gods were having a laugh by giving me those wonderful 10 10 in the big blind and you KK UTG, so that was me out in 19th (a placing I am not displeased with). Like everyone else we had a great time, both meeting up with familiar faces and finaly getting to grope all the other Blondes.I have got a few pctures that I will eventually get round to posting. One of the highlights of the weekend, meeting Mrs Nun. I am so pleased you saw me well stacked. What a pleasure to meet everybody again :) A fantastic weekend, gorgeous casino, great quiz excellent booze up (hic) sorry had way to many vodka redbulls :) And not to mentioning the bragging rights as our girlie team won the Heads Up Challenge!!!! Come on the girls!! Great result for the Girlies. I never thought the HU Comp was going to prove so popular. I'll post a full list of the results later. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Bongo on January 10, 2006, 02:23:36 AM I don't really know what to say and i'm sure if i tried to make a list i'd forget most things so i'd just like to say thank you to everyone involved for what was a great weekend.
I can't wait for the next one and will plan better next time. :D On that front very special thanks goto CK for putting me up in his spare bed - and trying to swap a % in his sleep! Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: I KNOW IT on January 10, 2006, 07:05:06 AM What an absolute fantastic week end, meeting up with old and new faces from Blonde. The atmosphere was brilliant and it was a laugh a minute. Much respect goes to all the people on Blonde who turned out and made it a great week end to remember.
Id like to thank all the staff at Broadway with out their services and enthusiasm would have been impossible to happen, dik9 who unfortunately was unable to attend, but their in spirit (mine being vodka). Tight end and Robert HM (who it was a pleasure to finally meet) and everyone one who a hand in making this special event happen. What a 1st birthday party Blondepoker had. Also I must say well done to chilli winning our heads up match (even though I let her win really :D) Whats the odds on there being a Blondepoker cruise in a couple of years at this rate. Thanks again everyone Craig Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: thetank on January 10, 2006, 09:06:48 AM ps.........it would have been nice to meet tank but i was not able to find him all weekend. rotflmfao He did meet me, it's a private joke. (So private that only boodereham understands it.) I think I accidentally introduced myself twice to him and he proceeded to take the piss the whole night by saying "Oh this is the tank is it" every time my name was mentioned. Pissed myself laughing every time he did as I'm very easily amused. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Rod Paradise on January 10, 2006, 09:29:01 AM Whats the odds on there being a Blondepoker cruise in a couple of years at this rate. Then came back and wiped the floor with you ;D :-* Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: snoopy1239 on January 10, 2006, 04:35:05 PM I think we all went easy on the ladies.
I let Jen win too in our HU match. I just couldn't bare to knock her team out. It just wouldn't be right. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Chili on January 10, 2006, 04:41:01 PM Is that how you have slept the last couple of nights snoops? :D
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: snoopy1239 on January 10, 2006, 04:42:13 PM I felt guilty just winning one hand off her.
It's not right for us to play our full game against the weaker sex. ::) Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Teacake on January 10, 2006, 07:12:43 PM Not really much I can add, what a fantastic weekend from start to finish.
Thanks to everyone involved for their hard work & effort making sure the whole thing went as well as it did. I don't want to single anyone out at the risk of offending anyone I miss out so a huge thank you to everyone for making us Scots so welcome, we had a ball (I think you may have noticed) ;letsparty; ;letsparty; Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Scottish Dave on January 10, 2006, 07:19:53 PM i can only ditto what teacake has said, there is so much unseen work that goes into making one of these events.
Everyone has put in so much work and it was all so so much appreciated. I fear we may be a victim of our own success, Blandebash II cant possible be better than that, nothing in the world could possible top that weekend. Seriously the best weekend i have ever spent in my life Never be forgotten Dave Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Teacake on January 10, 2006, 07:46:45 PM I fear we may be a victim of our own success, Blandebash II cant possible be better than that Dave I've been thinking exactly the same thing, especially if its in Glasgow, the Broadway was awesome for a UK casino. Theres no point trying to compare or copy BB1, BB2 will be an event in its own rite Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: The_nun on January 10, 2006, 07:54:26 PM I hate to admit this.. but I am a Scotland Virgin..having never been it will be an event I am quite looking forward to..
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Teacake on January 10, 2006, 08:00:29 PM I hate to admit this.. but I am a Scotland Virgin..having never been it will be an event I am quite looking forward to.. We'll look after you Nun, well apart from Tank who will no doubt try to steal your BB again whenever he can, its an illness :D Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: The_nun on January 10, 2006, 08:03:12 PM The stupid thing is.. I was as confident asI could have been with not knowing how he plays, that he was on a steel..I was sooooooo close to calling , as he knows.
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: The_nun on January 10, 2006, 08:13:44 PM And BTW Tank... there's many a man gone out of tournies for stealing my BB... so keep that in mind. Apart from your Stealing..your a Top Man..x
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: tikay on January 10, 2006, 08:22:43 PM Lovely comments by Teacake & Dave, thank you.
'Tis true, we just won't be able to top bB1, like that first kiss, it just can't be beaten. But no reason not to do more. But I've been meaning to Post this for a few days, without sounding patronising or condescending, but it's gotta be said, the Scots lads were SUCH good fun. In a way, I think they sorta made the bash so succesful, that friendly rivalry & banter. Loved every one of them. They cheated at the quiz better than the rest of us, too. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Ironside on January 10, 2006, 08:34:52 PM They cheated at the quiz better than the rest of us, too. i have heard thru grapevine that the only team not to cheat was the jibab's Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: The_nun on January 10, 2006, 08:39:48 PM I'll have you know.. the ONLY team not to cheat was our team young man..
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: tikay on January 10, 2006, 08:40:50 PM ....and ours...... Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Div on January 10, 2006, 08:40:52 PM If you are gonna have one at CinCins there's plenty hotel accomodation very close by. But you might need to build an extension on the club to hold all the attendees.
Maybe you could ask the Gala Riverboat to act as an 'overflow'. It's only 5 minutes away :D :D Or alternatively book the Renfrew Ferry and a minibus. Gotta love that ceiling in CinCins. But failed miserably to get them correct due to his inability to read cards in the first place... involved in making the Blonde bash so fantastic! The venue, the staff, including Dik9, the food and the company all the very best!!! Special thanks to Tightend for doing such a good job with the quiz (one of my favourite parts) Wonderful to put faces to names at last, everyone a genuine pleasure to meet! Special thanks to Darren (Mr Nun) who was a perfect gent, keeping me company (with Mrs Nun’s “blessing”) It was nice to meet Rod Paradise, The Tank, Laz and co, all lovely people can’t wait to see you all again. It was especially nice to meet the ladies, Charmaine, Heid, Trace T, Mel, Jo, Chilli, Mrs Sheriff, Mrs Jammer, Kezza and Foxy Minx, and of course, last but not least my friend Mrs Nun, (Maureen) who I hold in great regard. Love and best wishes to all it really was “emotional” PS Rob Yong, you are on the hit list! Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: snoopy1239 on January 12, 2006, 12:51:57 AM :hello:

I dont get out much and not used to drinking , so if i made a fool of myself or seemed ignorant i'm afraid it was my nerves taking the better of me . I wished i had spoken to more people , but the ones i did get to talk to were so friendly . Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Chili on January 12, 2006, 01:04:43 AM Mrs Red, i echo everything you just said and the pleasure of meeting you was all mine. After 28 years, Mrs Red is still the light in my sky and my warmth in the darkness (Besides, there were loads of good looking blokes about, I daren't let go) Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: tikay on January 12, 2006, 01:33:02 AM Mrs Red, i echo everything you just said and the pleasure of meeting you was all mine. One the fondest memories i have of that weekend was when you and Tom arrived on the second day for the quiz and you were holding hands! It was so sweet i could have cried. I second that. Tom & Mrs Tom are always holding hands, & caressing each other in a luvvy duvvy way, it is a truly wonderful thing to see in a couple who have been married half a lifetime, & endured, together, good times & some very bad times. I don't know why it makes me so happy to see that kinda thing, guess I'm just a big softie. Seems I'm not alone though. In a world increasingly populated by cynics & cheats & some truly awful people, it's nice to major on the other side of the coin. Just looking at Mr & Mrs Red together makes me happy. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Chili on January 12, 2006, 01:40:28 AM For petes sake - please dont start me off again! I want to be in your family Red! Mine are all nutters :)

To comment on everyone individually would ..for me... be impossible and by commenting on any certain individual makes me feel bad for not saying about the others, but lets just say, if I helped you girlies feel comfy..then good, it was a pleasure to meet each and everyone of you.. However , I do need to add the following.. Mrs Red... = No words can describe how much this lady means .Thankyou Trace T .If i missunderstood you ..sry... Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: tikay on January 12, 2006, 07:32:52 PM Just read up on the posts on this thread, . The bash only confirmed what we all were already aware of ..We truly do have some very special people on this forum... Mrs Red is special? Too right. So are YOU Maureen. And many other blondeites. Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: dik9 on January 12, 2006, 07:50:14 PM Heart of England Poker Festival

Bet it clashes with the Deauville EPT though...... main event of EPT in Deauville is 8-11th Feb Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: Colchester Kev on January 12, 2006, 08:16:31 PM Doesnt clash with the EPT in Deauville...... Although IF the ept dont get their events a bit more player friendly then it wouldnt matter, the Broadway would be full to the rafters.
Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: tikay on January 12, 2006, 08:17:28 PM Excellent, so it''s bIB (blondes Invade Broadway) time again. The Broadway - you have been warned! Title: Re: THANKYOU BLONDE Post by: dik9 on January 12, 2006, 08:58:27 PM Clashes with 2 events, Sheffield and Brighton. Sorry Freak I tried to avoid it, but was told otherwise. Walsall's Fesival follows it. Deauville is just before it.
